Ouch... I think he's a bad QB too, but that's harsh! I really do hope he's ok. Seems like a great guy, and hope he makes a full recovery!
-
I don't dislike you as much as many posters on this board, but I'm going to say this take of yours is way off. They have a better team, were playing at home, and had a QB that played better.
-
He got 2 first downs on the drive with all odds stacked against them. You're right, he's not NFL ready to be a starter. But for anyone to EXPECT more from him at that point in the game is absurd.
-
You are trying to apply games that don't matter, plays that don't matter, situations that don't matter, to this ONE situation. As if any of that is relevant... Again, wtf did you expect? TT already threw an INT in the game, do we say his INT is the same as every INT? No. It was specific to that situation. Minute left, offense hasn't done squat all game. 4th & 3 with no timeouts. Yes, he should've done so much more & had every advantage and opportunity in the world handed to him on a silver platter.... What a fool for not winning the game singlehandedly in a situation Tyrod is 3-22 in all time.

Considering it's been said by analysts and outlets reporting on the game, as well as professionals and players, it's not really disputable. Coupled with if you've played football from Middle School onwards it's pretty obvious. But yeah, the cornerback that was a couple yards behind the receiver somehow got the ball while the receiver who stood in place did not. Gee, if the corner could come towards the ball, how could the receiver not?

If I am McD/Beane what Shady says makes a big diff...

His input is fine, but hell no to making all their choices based off of what a single player wants lol -
I'd rather see a rookie, but if we can get Smith for a 3rd rounder or later, I'd take it in an instant.
-
I can remember all of them off the top of my head. Tyrod TD in Atlanta, Peterman in the Saints game in garbage time, and Tyrod getting his first TD in the 1st quarter of the season against the Chiefs (only took 12 weeks).
-
I mean he got put in with a minute left at 4th & 3 and no timeouts lol What the hell were people expecting? And Thompson should've come back towards that ball, that much is obvious. But really there was nothing he could do there short of a miracle that would've changed anyone's opinions on him.

Do we win the game with a 100% healthy Shady
BigDingus replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No... They did what good teams do against us, sell out to stop the run & make the QB play QB. That doesn't change with McCoy being any healthier. He still made his cuts and made some big plays, but we failed to capitalize on them (and one was called back by penalty) anyway. -
Thompson running free.. thanks Romo!!!

I feel your pain man, and I'm right there with you. This week was fantastic, and I wouldn't trade it for any other fandom in the world. -
Pick one to stay, TT or Dennison.

Dennison 100% Not even close. -
Official fire Rick Dennison thread

Can't judge him when the QB is so horrendously inept. There's way too much evidence that points to bad QB execution during good play calls. Would-be TD's overlooked for checkdowns. Open men past the LoS on 3rd down yet the QB hangs onto the ball forever and takes a sack or runs. Guys who beat their man wide open being overthrown by a mile. Slant routes thrown behind the player. Guys being thrown to way before the finished the route. Balls batted down at the LoS. Balls thrown into the dirt. Inability to go through reads. No touch on passes in the endzone. I mean when I see so much of this polluting every game, I can't even imagine how Dennison's offense would look with proper execution. Nate Hackett was one of the most hated OC's while he was here, and how he's coaching in the divisional round of the playoffs. Mularkey the "guru" was hated here too for his playcalling, and he's also in the divisional round. We go through coordinators faster than HC's, but one thing we haven't had is a good QB through all of them. -
Cousins + a young QB from the draft would be a dream come true, but I agree with the point of your post - I am definitely proud of this team. Hey, that's the same amount we've had total in the 4th quarter the past 7 games! That's impressive lol

Thompson running free.. thanks Romo!!!
BigDingus replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup, it was a TD as Thompson blew right past him & was wide open. And that DB behind him cut across the field to that point, he wasn't following him, just in case anyone was wondering. -
What are your Options to upgrade No1 and No2 need
BigDingus replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's been one of the few broadcast announcers I can genuinely say helps educate viewers. I mean it's really eye-opening what's happening on the field when Romo is calling a game. It's seriously impressive how well he knows the game. -

BigDingus replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's definitely worth inquiring about. If he has any coaching aspirations, you have to start somewhere, and many OC's begin as QB coaches. You'd definitely have to pay a pretty penny, but his knowledge could prove insanely beneficial to a young QB. -
I think Smith is way more than a "slight" upgrade over Taylor, and moreso than Eli by far. Kirk Cousins definitely is, but nobody is really questioning that. Not sure how good a fit he is for the team, but he's better than TT hands down.
-
While I agree with your end assessment, you don't grade a QB's performance by one game (today or otherwise). You look at what they've done throughout their career, and especially this season with this coaching staff. And that brings us to the same conclusion - he's not good & we need to move on.

Give Tony Romo a Jim Gruden deal as our QB coach LOL Ok, not really, but he'd be great to have help develop a young QB. I wouldn't be against getting a QB from Minnesota as long as we draft one to develop behind them too. And I'm fine with our OC for now. -
Horse collar tackles are illegal but apparently...
BigDingus replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see how that's a horsecollar tackle. Refs helped us more than they hurt us today. Gave McCoy a great spot when he was clearly a yard short, giving us a 1st down instead of 4th. Called the neutral zone infraction that gave us 1st & goal at the 1. Gave us a pass interference call that picked up big yardage. Called the hit on TT when he was sliding. Overall they got most everything right & called a good game. -
DT, O-line, MLB, QB, and probably another CB for if Gaines doesn't resign, or if he does, as depth behind him in case of injury.
