  1. Yes, until you're spending a 1st round pick every few years replacing the same position. When we let Tre White go and spend another 1st on a CB, are we going to still consider it a win just because the next guy steps up? We also let our 2nd rounder in Darby go. Lots of wasted picks.
  2. Not going to say he doesn't have an impact, but that stat doesn't equal correlation. I could also venture that when the Bills have X amount of turnovers in a game, they have a high win percentage too, and that one makes more sense.
  3. So it can hit him squarely in the hands, bounce up and get intercepted, ran back for a pick 6 again?
  4. Accuracy - ranked 15th Yards Per Attempt - ranked 23rd Passer Rating - ranked 16th Yards Per Game - ranked 30th Time to Throw - ranked 3rd out of 41 QB's (3.01 seconds) Sacks - ranked 3rd highest (Gee, wonder if holding on to the ball so long affects that...) Avg Completed Air Yards - 28th (6.2 yards) TD's - ranked 25th Passes 20+ yards - ranked 20th Passes 40+ yards - ranked 26th Passing Offense - ranked 31st Sounds about right.
  5. Our offenses have been inept. It's like this year...when we were getting a boatload of turnovers but doing nothing with them. If it weren't for the defense gifting the offense those turnovers in opponent territory, the scoreboard would look much worse. Fortunately, the offense often started in FG range, so when they promptly went 3 & out, they could at least get 3 points. When the defense got turnovers in our own side of the field, it usually lead to a punt :/
  6. I for one welcome bandwagon fans, or any new fans for that matter! The more attention & bigger following we get, the more coverage & nationally televised games we get. Also, that leads to more revenue for the team which is always good, and if it we have any sustained success, ultimately will get us that new stadium quicker.
  7. I posted this in another thread, but I think I need to say it again, and why I think it's a mistake not to take a QB: People always say "lots of holes to fill!" as if the QB position isn't a glaring hole and hasn't been for 18 years, when discussing whether it's worth trading away picks to move up in the draft... The Bills have had the longest playoff drought in NFL history, and therefore are equating us getting in with some kind of sustainable success attributed to the QB. That's not the case, and look at all the other bad teams that HAVE made the playoffs sooner than us, and how they still weren't good for long after with those QBs.The Browns are now the longest active drought, but they got in before us. They made it with Kelly Holcomb (who almost beat the Steelers in those playoffs). The Redskins before Cousins made it in several times, but nobody remembers their QBs. The Bucs made it in with Jeff Garcia. The Jags made it in with David Garrard (and won a game). The Dolphins made it in with Chad Pennington. The Jets made it in with Mark Sanchez. The Titans made it in with Kerry Collins. The Broncos made it in with Tim Tebow, and before that Jake Plummer. The Rams made it in with Marc Bulger. The Bears made it in with Rex Grossman & later Jay Cutler. The Eagles made it in with Mike Vick & later Nick Foles. I'm glad we got the monkey off our back, but this doesn't mean we're suddenly settled at the QB position. It's still a glaring hole, and something we should seriously consider in the draft just as we were looking to do heading into the 2017 season. I'd be ok with that, although I'd hope we'd take someone in the later rounds this year to develop behind them.
  8. http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2018/story/_/id/21836489/2018-nfl-draft-quarterback-class-preview-background-scouting-reports-pro-fits This is a breakdown of the top 4 QB's along with a few notable others. It goes into detail about their 2017 season, their stats, "who is this guy & why should we care?" along with "what does the NFL think about ____?" Then Kiper & McShay seperately give their opinion on each QB's ranking of their position, coupled with what they think their overall draft position should be. They then discuss which teams are probably looking to draft a QB in the first round. Along with the Bills, they have: Pick No. 1 & 4 - Browns Pick No. 2 - Giants Pick No. 5. - Broncos Pick No. 6 - Jets Pick No. 11 - Dolphins Pick No. 13 - Redskins Pick No. 15 - Cardinals Pick No. 16 - Ravens (Projected) Pick No. 22 & 24 - Bills (Projected) Pick No. 27 - Jaguars (Projected) Pick No. 28 - Saints (Projected) Pick No. 29 - Steelers (Projected) Pick No. 31 - Vikings (Projected) Pick No. 32 - Patriots Kiper has them ranked: 1. Josh Rosen (No. 4 overall prospect) 2. Sam Darnold (No. 5 overall prospect) 3. Josh Allen (No. 11 overall prospect) 4. Baker Mayfield (No. 13 overall prospect) McShay has them ranked: 1. Josh Rosen (No. 1 overall prospect) 2. Sam Darnold (No. 3 overall prospect) 3. Josh Allen (No. 15 overall prospect) 4. Baker Mayfield (No. 27 overall prospect) They both have Lamar Jackson ranked as the 7th best QB without saying who 5 & 6 are, while honorable mentions go to Mason Rudolph, Luke Falk & Riley Ferguson. When it comes to the Bills, they say "It sure doesn't look as if the Bills are sold on Tyrod Taylor. And while they believe in Nathan Peterman to a certain degree, they also could jump if they find someone they like better in this intriguing class." It's already obvious from what we already know, coupled with what the article details about the NFL's thoughts on these guys that Rosen & Darnold aren't going to be a possibility for the Bills. Josh Allen & Baker Mayfield could possibly slide, but knowing how teams love to reach on draft day I highly doubt it. But at least with those 2 there's a viable chance the Bills could trade to move up, and not have to pay a King's ransom. I mean look at how much the Bears gave up just to move ahead one spot for Trubisky... that just shows how desperate teams get when wanting to draft a QB. And with the teams listed in front of us, the Browns and Giants are 100% going to grab a QB, with the Broncos & Jets likely going for one as well. The Cardinals situation is unclear, but even so it's unlikely Palmer/Arians/Fitzgerald will be there much longer. The Redskins are 50/50 with Cousins, so that's a toss up too. I don't see the Dolphins giving up on Tannehill, or the Ravens on Flacco just yet, so they're not worries to me. If we don't snag one of these top 4 guys, I'm fine with taking a flyer on one of the other prospects in the later rounds as long as they don't expect him to be come out & start right away. I really just hope it's not Mason Rudolph or Riley Ferguson. Anyway, thought I'd share the article as it's pretty interesting and a lot to think about.
  9. Obviously it was Brady that wanted to trade Jimmy G. Belichick knows Brady isn't going to play forever, and would probably like to at least ATTEMPT to continue that success after he's gone. He's always been known to let good players go if they're not what's best for the team, and he'll sign up disappointments on other teams & turn their careers around on the other hand. To have a QB you drafted, developed, watched play well, run your offense the way you want, groomed to be a confident leader, and someone already respected in the locker room, get yanked away for only a 2nd round pick & could be in the league for 10+ more years would definitely not be something Belichick would suggest.
  10. Well, he got the attention he wanted. Already 774 comments on the article itself, and God only knows how many pages this thread will be... It's exactly the response he was looking for.
  11. Yeah...anyone who says otherwise is nuts. Flutie was great for the team we had at the time. It was unfortunate he got his best shot yanked out from under him. If we lose in that way again, I'll stop watching football.
  12. Why do they hate Richie so bad? I get the bullying thing, but he's been an ideal teammate since and has had no "dirty" plays on field.
  13. Yes! He'll work too! In fact, bring them both back. I'm still confident their combined 2000 lb bodies will be able to plug the middle.
  14. Yes, I corrected my post in terms of percentage we're at 4th for away, in terms of average we're at 30th. But it doesn't change the home game sellout issue which is what I brought up. How we apparently would've sold out if we were 5-10 against an 8-7 Miami team playing for a playoff birth. We didn't even sell out the last home game of the year against Miami, when our own playoffs were on the line. Cheers to that. But you mean 12 teams
  15. We're actually 30th in attendance for road games. http://www.espn.com/nfl/attendance/_/sort/awayAvg Or you're talking about percentage. I guess that makes sense for all the displaced Bills fans. Kudos there. But I was talking about home games and how "if the situations were reversed" in regards to the Miami game, we'd have apparently sold out. We wouldn't have, and didn't in week 15, even though it was the LAST HOME GAME, against a division rival, and with playoffs on the line. No, you can see attendance by those who checked into the game. It's posted after each game. Also, if you have eyes you can look at the Bills stadium and see all the empty seats, like with Miami in week 15, and know it's definitely not even close to full capacity.
  16. That's what I said in the original post...and still behind Miami.
  17. Hire Sam Adams off the street & hope he's still fat enough to plug into the middle.
  18. Yes, because when you hide anonymously behind a keyboard & monitor you can show your true colors. In person, you can fake your way through the motions. But hey, all anyone has to do is just read through this thread and see you're really just a likeable guy!
  19. How much do we spend on prisons and incarceration each year? More than every country in the world. Maybe you should read this - https://www.ed.gov/news/press-releases/report-increases-spending-corrections-far-outpace-education Increase in spending on incarceration far outpaces spending on education. You do realize why it's $1.3 Billion in spending yet still so many awful education environments like these right? Because just as with everything in this country, the money at the top was misused. This study by the state says they need to spend $2.6 Billion MORE - http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/education/blog/bs-md-state-funding-formula-report-20161207-story.html And yes, I do know throwing tons of money at things doesn't just fix everything. It's about accountability. But pretending funding isn't essential is insane.
  20. Wow, 3 out of 11 picked us to win. That's actually better than I thought. That's better than our chances to make the playoffs in week 17, so I'll take it!
  21. http://www.espn.com/nfl/attendance/_/sort/homePct So I keep seeing these threads mocking the Dolphins attendance for the last game of the season, saying if the situation was reversed the Bills would've had a full stadium. But we've seen time & time again that really isn't true. Even this year, we've seen games where there are plenty of seats empty, even though we were in the thick of the playoff race. Even in week 15, against the apparently "hated rival" Dolphins, with a chance to go 8-6 and as our LAST home game, we only managed to sell 85% of the tickets. Overall, we rank 24th while Miami ranks 3rd. Even when you switch to "average" attendance, Bills only move up to 17th, still one spot below Miami at 16th. The Jags are 19th in percentage, and 21st in average just for reference since they're also made fun of for the tarps, then swapping them out for pools. I think people still assume we just turn out in droves no matter what, as we used to be that way in the past. I don't blame people for not going amidst an 18 year playoff drought, but I feel the glorification of our fan turnout isn't reality.
  22. And there's more of that hostility right there. You must be a real people person. The last time we had an unbelievable defense that was top of the league in sacks, and with a secondary that made great QB's look below average. It's still definitely possible, the circumstances have changed quite a bit.
  23. So you're saying these kids don't need heating and the lights on? Proper facilities and equipment? If not, then Baltimore doesn't spend enough. And if it spends the second highest amount per student, what does that say about our public education system if there are still students in these conditions? Your comment was pointless, and just tries to deflect from the issue. It's CLEARLY not enough, and we do spend way the hell too much on jails.
  24. People always say "lots of holes to fill!" as if the QB position isn't a glaring hole and hasn't been for 18 years... The Bills have had the longest playoff drought in NFL history, and therefore are equating us getting in with some kind of sustainable success. That's not the case, and look at all the other bad teams that HAVE made the playoffs sooner than us, and how they still weren't good for long after with those QBs. The Rams made it in with Marc Bulger. The Bears made it in with Rex Grossman & later Jay Cutler. The Eagles made it in with Mike Vick & later Nick Foles. Guys, we've just been SUPER unlucky. With the Patriots being in our division, we've had no shot at winning that route, so we've had to resort to WC play. And there are always teams that come through at the end, where we falter. Just because we got in this year with TT, that does not equal "TT is the guy who got us in!"
  25. I mean, the Dolphins were a good team last year, and losing Tannehill set them way back. Anyone arguing otherwise is delusional. But saying they were SB contenders is also pretty ridiculous. I don't remember a single outlet claiming they'd go to the SB, let alone win it. And if you're not expected to go to the Super Bowl, how are you a SB "contender?"
