https://sports.yahoo.com/afc-championship-stephon-gilmore-overcomes-early-season-doubts-make-huge-play-022914647.html "The Jaguars were facing fourth-and-15 with 1:53 to play, starting from the New England 43. Blake Bortles threw for Dede Westbrook deep down the right sideline, and Gilmore made a tremendous play, leaping, stretching out and knocking the ball away. Just like that, all was forgiven. The crowd at Gillette Stadium went bananas. Barring a catastrophe, Gilmore had sealed the Patriots’ third Super Bowl trip in the last four years." He's just one more guy I wish we kept, as having him & White on opposite sides would've been fantastic, but I understand why we didn't. We weren't in the best cap situation, and he wasn't exactly dying to stay here. Just crazy to see yet another Bills player help the Patriots in such obvious ways. One more SB in the books, and Gilmore was a big part of that.

I used to love Foles. Was a long time supporter always hoping the Bills would take a shot at him. But after his year with the Rams, I sorta just figured Jeff Fisher sunk his career & it was over. Oddly enough, the QB opposite of Foles yesterday Case Keenum, also looked awful under Jeff Fisher. Now here they both were leading their teams in the NFC Championship games...that's just awesome. Glad Foles is redeeming himself. He's been great.

I mean Brady is the best. And he always rises to the occasion. Bortles had a 102+ passer ratting all game until the very last drive which dropped him to a 98. Brady on the other hand had an 87 passer rating in the first 3 quarters while in the 4th he had a 130+! That's insane...When the game is on the line, he just comes alive.

Bottles had a great game for the most part. Still makes me laugh we had people before the Jacksonville game say they'd rather have Tyrod than him in the playoffs. He outplayed Brady most of the game, was smart, made good decisions, and did it on the road. The Jags running game wasn't even doing much, so congrats to them all for playing the Pats so well. In other news, the Patriots have now won their last 4 playoff games where they were down by 10 points or more...That just sucks. The Bills are the exact opposite in recent years. They go down at all, even by a point, and it becomes nearly impossible to win. And as much as I hate him, Brady is the best QB of all time easy. Doesn't even need to win this SB. Has 5 win, 2 losses and about to have either a 6th win or 3rd loss. To put that in perspective, Jim Kelly is considered one of the top 15 QBs of all time with half the stats and 4 losses... Even if Brady loses, he'll be 1 SB loss away from Kelly's SB losses, but with the bonus of having also won FIVE. That's insane...And was done in the Free agency era.

If those were my only options, pass. Not unless I can grab Jackson or Rudolph in the 2nd round. Wouldn't use either of our 1st rounders on them.

I guess ESPN is not a fan of the " process "
BigDingus replied to Iron Maiden's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean the rationale behind their prediction makes sense, so I can't be mad. It's very likely that if we draft a QB to start, or turn it over to an inexperienced Peterman, that we very well could take a step back just due to growing pains in learning the position. -
Why doesn't the NFL change Defensive PI to 15 yards?
BigDingus replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Defensive pass interference would be committed all the time in the pros if it was 15 yards! It would be absolutely horrible to strategically rob big play after big play because you can't make a play on the ball. This has been discussed plenty of times by people in the sport. They voted on whether or not to change it in 2015, but opted overwhelmingly not to. This year, the Bills actually benefited more from PI in total yardage than they were hurt by it, as they committed 107 yards in PI calls and gained 110 yards from PI committed against them. If there's any change relating to PI that NEEDS to be done, it's allow it to be a reviewable penalty that can be challenged! That would resolve so much crap, it's a genuine shock it hasn't happened already. -
Completion % And How It Translates To The Pros
BigDingus replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Texas Tech has 2 guys in the NFL with one about to be. Mahomes was a 1st rounder last year, Davis Webb is loved by the Giants and was picked in the 3rd round, and Baker Mayfield is going to be a 1st round pick this year. They all started at Tech and played the same offense throughout their college careers, however Mayfield & Webb split due to behind the scenes issues & anger over not being the starter. -
Confirmed: Concussions don't cause CTE
BigDingus replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought this was always known? Haven't experts been saying for a while that positions like O-line & D-linemen are most at risk since they take direct smaller hits to the head on every single play? Concussions just contribute to damage already being done over & over & over from every hit throughout the game/season. -
What would it (realistically) take to get Alex Smith?
BigDingus replied to NickelCity's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It'll take at LEAST a 2nd. Hell, the Vikings traded a 1st and 4th for Bradford...and Smith is better, stays healthy, and more consistent than him. Smith isn't exactly "young," but he's still only 33, and as we've seen QB's play at a high level for quite a while longer these days. To put that in perspective, Drew Brees is 39... so imagine if we had Drew Brees from age 33-39. That's a LOT of good/great seasons from that age onward. Smith could potentially play until he's 39 as well, so there's still SOME upside, even if he isn't intended to be the long term answer. I'd rather have a competent offense to at least give some semblance of help to our very good defense. -
Hear me out... Brady is old, Rodgers is now injury prone, and Tyrod is in his prime. Do you really think it's fair to have them compete with him at this point in their careers?
-
"1 of or 1st" / "1 of or second" what do those things even mean?
-
Does the simplicity make it easier for defenses to figure out what handful of plays we could be running though? I feel that if I can understand it & pick it up so easily, it must be even easier for people trained to read & understand it on the field.
-
First off, he's a guy that commands franchise tag money already and isn't happy with it, so imagine how much we'd have to spend to lock him up long term. Second, neither back wants to not start. Even if they were to get even carries, only one would be considered the starter. Third, unless we are planning to draft and or sign in free agency some amazing O-line talent, it wouldn't be worth the investment. And locking up multiple backs with big money could be awful (see Philadelphia a few years ago...and they had a GREAT line).

Bon Jovi on Howard Stern Talking Buffalo Bills
BigDingus replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here's the thing, it doesn't matter if he was never going to move the team. His offer for the team was dwarfed by what the Pegula's offered, therefore he lost. Him and Trump both bid less than $1 billion, while the Pegula's went $1.4 billion. Money talks, and that was the deciding factor. -
Bingo. No matter how much POTENTIAL he has, the risk is too high. If they could sign him to compete while also having a real contingency plan in case of injury, sure. But paying big money and signing him as the unquestionable starter is an absolute NO.
-
Did you really even ask "why not Sam Bradford?" There's one OBVIOUS reason, and nobody has to explain it to you at all. Injuries. That's it. Without discussing a single other aspect of his career, INJURIES are the #1 answer to "why not?" - 2011: INJURED Missed 6 games - 2013: INJURED Missed 9 games - 2015: INJURED Missed 2 games - 2017: INJURED Missed 14 games He's only played a full season twice in 7 years. Not a good track record.

Bradford will be the Available Viking QB
BigDingus replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mayfield & Bradford, two 1st round guys from OU as our QB's...that'd be interesting. -
I mean, I'm not going to argue with the content of your post...but the randomness of the timing is weird... You posted this as if he just played a game or made some horrible play. Why are you posting this now when there are plenty of threads about TT & how bad he is?

Down to Four - Which Team Are You Rooting For and Why?
BigDingus replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anyone but the Pats. The other 3 teams have never won a SB before, so it'd be cool to see. -
At what point do we say Antonio Brown is the GOAT?
BigDingus replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jerry Rice is easily the GOAT. There's just no question in my mind. The only debate is who is number 2 at this point. -
Keenum is definitely staying put now.
