  1. If Allen doesn't pan out, yeah, they'll definitely get fired. But as long as Allen at least plays better than what we had with Tyrod Taylor, I think they'll stick around for a long while.... Even if Mahomes is annihilating records & winning Super Bowls left & right.
  2. It's not that head scratching. He hasn't put together a good game from start to finish yet, is still inconsistent. He got credit for a TD "pass" last game for what was essentially a hand off, but aside from that, he has 1 x passing TD, 2 x rushing TD's and 4 turnovers. The only QB's I'd argue should be ranked lower than him at this point in the season are Kirk Cousins, Cam Newton, and Baker Mayfield. Yes, some of the other QB's are getting generous rankings based on their history (Aaron Rodgers), but we're only 2 games in, so I'm sure things will work themselves out soon enough.
  3. Expect it to be tiring for the next decade+ if Allen doesn't become a star. There's some things that can be forgiven, but if Mahomes goes on to become a Hall of Famer and/or Super Bowl winner while Allen either becomes a Tannehill/Dalton/Keenum level talent or bombs out, Bills fan will always remember we passed on him in an era where we went 17 years without making the playoffs. Yes, it's tiring, but if you're confident Allen is a franchise guy, you won't have to worry about the Mahomes talk for much longer.
  4. I know you're not arguing my point, but just wanted to respond with some numbers after doing a bit of digging: I just checked, Brady is 30-3 against the Bills (with one of those losses being the final game of the season where he only started the game, then was pulled along with the rest of the starters for the 2nd half to rest). So he has a 91% win percentage against us, while Manning had an 80% win percentage against the Jags, and he did it for longer. Since 2001, the Pats have put up 1,015 points against us compared to our 555 points against them. In that time frame, here are the Bills lone wins: 1) 2003: Bills win 31-0 in Buffalo to open the season 2) 2011: Bills win 34-31 in Buffalo 3) 2014: Bills win 17-9 in New England to finish the season, Pats rested many starters as they clinched playoff spot already 4) 2016: Bills win 16-0 in New England, Brady was suspended, Jimmy G was injured, Pats were starting 3rd string rookie Jacoby Brissett. That's all our wins in 18 years. That's an unparalleled type of dominance that's probably some kind of NFL record (or at least way the hell up there). Brady's thrown for 8,248 yards, 69 TD's & 24 INT's against Buffalo alone. He has more wins IN BUFFALO (16) than any of our own starting QB's since Jim Kelly (Tyrod Taylor is the next closest with 14). I doubt many other teams can say an opposing QB has more wins in their home stadium than any of their own QB's the past 22 years except maybe the Browns with Big Ben...and even then, by virtue of Brady almost never being injured & being around longer, I bet he still has more. Prior to Brady, the All-Time record in the Patriots vs Bills rivalry was 39-37-1 in favor of the Bills. Since then, it has become 73-43-1 in favor of the Patriots. That's ridiculous. ********************** TL;DR - Brady & the Pats have been SO damn dominant against the Bills, it's pretty much ingrained in the mind that the Bills start every season 0-2 by default. It's made it actually difficult to imagine that one day, Patriots fans will be discussing an upcoming Bills matchup & legitimately thinking "we know we're going to lose to the Bills, so we have to get our 9 to 10 wins elsewhere." But man, if that day comes, it will be an amazing time to be a Bills fan. That's for damn sure.
  5. Just the thought of that feels so weird to me.... like alternate reality/sci-fi sort of weird. The idea that I could one day view the Pats message boards & see people just penciling in a loss to the Bills feels like it couldn't be real. I know people always bring up the 70's Dolphins having our number, but we've gone almost 2 decades of getting owned by the Pats in ways that shouldn't be possible in the NFL.
  6. I 100% agree. A couple years ago, the Bengals were called a "trap game," and a team we should easily beat. Then they beat us. I still haven't forgotten that, mainly because when looking back on the season, it was the one game where it was so obvious the Bills crapped the bed. Thankfully for us, the Ginger Savior had our backs & KO'd the Ravens to get us into the playoffs at the end of the year. Had they lost, it would've been the Bengals game from earlier in the year that cost us the chance at breaking the drought. We started off that year 5-2 when we should've started out 6-1. This season, I'm hoping the team is different, and that we put away the teams we're supposed to beat. No more trap games, no losses to teams with 0 wins, let's just take care of business. Here's hoping the Bills can pull it off this Sunday.
  7. Upon seeing the news, Mark Davis & the Raiders immediately called Rosenhaus to begin contract negotiations. Think of the possibilities of Carr to Brown in Vegas, what could go wrong!?
  8. Smith had a very good career, and leading the 49ers to a few points shy of the Super Bowl, then repeating his great play before getting hurt & benched for an inferior QB. Then after going to KC, the Chiefs consistently made the playoffs, and was also a Pro Bowlers in 3 of the 5 seasons he played for them. Not saying he was "great," just a GOOD, stable, consistent QB for his franchise. The year before he was injured he threw for 26 TD's & 5 INT's, and has a lifetime W/L record of 94-66-1. Again, not an all-time great, but still more than just your average/slightly above average QB like a Ryan Tannehill, Derek Carr, Case Keenum, Tyrod Taylor, etc.
  9. Seems most of their fans are pretty realistic. I read through a ton of that thread, and the large majority are either mocking their own team, or calling the OP delusional. There are just as many Bills fans that don't live in reality. I will never forget last year's winner of a thread that had 90%+ of the people vote they'd rather have Allen than Mahomes in a poll. Talk about denial. Then within the past week or so, we had a thread where someone said they'd rather not have 6 Super Bowls, and prefers the losing route we've taken because we get high character guys (granted, his post was filled with one-sided examples of those meanie Pats while ignoring the same problems of Bills players). But really?! You'd rather not have 2 decades of dominance, instantly placing you from bottom feeder franchise to tied with Pittsburgh for most SB wins in history? C'mon... that's not reality, that's total BS.
  10. Don't forget Alex Smith last season!
  11. Yes. He's a 7 time Pro Bowl WR (only been in the league 8 years) and has PHENOMENAL hands. As Zay has shown, it's nowhere near a guarantee to grab a WR with a 2nd or 3rd round pick, and even if you do hit on one, it's highly unlikely you'll land one as exceptional as AJ Green. And Injury Prone? Sure, he's missed some games here and there, but many WR's have. He played all 16 games in 2017, then missed 7 last season. And every year aside from 2016 & 2018 he's had over 1,000 yards receiving (and in 2016 he had 964 yards in only 10 games). I'd trade a 2nd or a 3rd if the Bengals would take it, let him rest & heal a bit longer while he learns the playbook & gets up to speed, then throw him in after you know he's 100% recovered & good to go. We haven't had a WR of his caliber in ages. Eric Moulds would be the closest, but Green is even better than Moulds. Even if he only played half a season for us, he'd likely have a bigger impact than any other WR we'll have that plays all 16 games.
  12. People keep talking about the passes WR's dropped, but they shouldn't leave out the amount of passes DB's dropped as well (including in the Jets game). Allen could have had at least 2 more INT's this season, and likely more. Between tipped balls and outright freebies that were dropped, we've gotten lucky so far. Hoping that continues, but can't rely on that against actual good teams we face. The thing Josh needs to improve upon the most is ball placement, not just getting the completion. There have been times a WR has been WIDE the hell open and got no YAC because of how they had to make a miracle grab to even catch the ball. This isn't just on deep passes either, though his deep ball accuracy needs work too (missed a wide open man last week for an easy TD). Brown seems to be able to find separation often, and hitting him in stride will allow us to pick up much bigger chunks of yardage. Part of the problem might just be his size though. What might seem like a normal pass to him ends up requiring a huge leap and full arm extensions for our WR's to even have a chance of catching the ball. I'm sure there's some way to help improve in that area, but some of it isn't really his fault.
  13. Did every other QB under Reid throw for 5,000 yards & 50+ TD's with a 66% completion percentage, in what was their first season as a starter (essentially a rookie)? Think of how many records he broke last year, and think of how quickly he's on pace to break countless more. How many QB's under Reid have ever had seasons that good? That's only his first season as a starter...imagine how good he'll be years from now. And if you ever watched him in college, you'll realize he was doing the exact same thing, and people were also saying similar things like "system QB" or "because he's playing in Kliff's offense." But when you draft a QB, you hope they can produce like they did in college, only now take it to the next level & do it in the pros. You see that amazing ability and think "damn, if he could do that in the NFL, he'd be a franchise guy!" and that's exactly what Mahomes is doing. This is the main thing that worries me about Allen. If you took how he played in college at his absolute best, then got him to play just as good as he did at his peak in college, you'd only have a pretty solid QB. So instead, we're hoping to turn Allen into something he's never shown he can be, and hoping it's done by a defensive minded HC... the same guy who was so good at evaluating QB talent that he thought we were set going into last season with a QB corps of 5th round pick Nathan Peterman as the starter, and a rookie as the backup. Anyway, Allen has looked solid in parts of games this year (still hasn't put together a strong game start to finish yet), but it's not like we've had great competition. Up next is the Bengals, so between them, the Jets & the Giants they're 0-6. Then again, you can only play who is on your schedule, and as long as the team keeps doing enough to beat who is put in front of them, I'll be happy. Still rather have Mahomes 10 out of 10 times, but if I could just see Allen outplay Mahomes one Sunday in the entire season, I'll be impressed.
  14. Well if we're just going all of history, give me Joe Montana lol But I like your thinking!
  15. That was a beauty to watch.
  16. Patrick Mahomes.
  17. What wouldn't I give up is the more difficult question... Probably would hang on to Allen, Hughes, Oliver & White. Anyone else + draft picks is worth giving up for Green.
  18. He'll go to the Pats for the league minimum or something...
  19. The Pats probably feel disrespected by that line, and Belichick will use it as motivation for his team to come in & hang 50+ on the Jets.
  20. I give up... My hopes of him ever giving me any value in fantasy this year are gone. The guy will be out of the league soon.
  21. We really can't lose to the Bengals if we want to be taken seriously. It was only a couple years ago we started off 3-1, then lost to the Bengals who were 1-3 (only win being against the 0-16 Browns) at the time. Dalton is chunking the ball everywhere, but our pass defense is our strong suit, so hopefully we can keep them in check. Can't afford to lose to an 0-2 team when next week we'll be playing the Pats. It'll make for a much more interesting game too if the Pats & Bills are facing off at 3-0 each. Granted, we almost always lose to the Pats, but if we can at least make it a close team, there's still something to be gained from a loss. No...the clapping is just annoying no matter how you look at it lol. Especially when an O-linemen commits yet another penalty or something...I'd rather see him rip into the guy then just continuously clap away.
  22. Probably Thurman. I mean he was the 1991 MVP, something Kelly or Reed can't say. Just seems weird to type that... A Bills player was the MVP. Damn, Thurman was great. Also, I miss the field & endzones the way they were in the 90's. Along with the bigger crowds, the nostalgia I get watching those older clips makes me proud. Wish we'd go back to that.
  23. I think people are not giving fair credit to Gore with what he's done, just because we're all excited to see more of Singletary. Gore showed why he's still a valuable player in this league today.
  24. We got super lucky on that penalty, but so did the Giants earlier with that BS hold call on Mitch Morse that negated a big gain, so we're even.
  25. You cant put this on the defense.
