Do you think the Bills are doomed to repeat 2008, 2011?
Mat68 replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. The schedule is soft. The team isnt 5 and 2 because of fluky plays, or players/ units playing above their talent levels. 5 times Buffalo looked like the better team. -
They should keep the jersey design as now. Just go Red helmets instead of white.

Clear Sign Beane Doesn't Think We Are Ready
Mat68 replied to Ghs24mike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Clear? Idk. Who are you getting? What are you giving up? 2020 looks like a fairly good Wr class -
No one else in the playoff race got any better so, no big deal.

As poor as the defense looked Sunday, there is not an elite team in the AFC. The Patriots offense is average at best. The Cheifs defense is poor. Those are the expected top of the AFC. The bridge isnt that far. The offense needs some help. Allen's growth is as far as the Bill's will go.

I dont expect a trade. If it happens it's at 330.

Glazer: Bills are still in market for a WR
Mat68 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What is the overall attitude of the team if Buffalo doesnt make a move? There are good players availabe and better players have already been traded. I think Buffalo is still sitting pretty for the wildcard. At Wr I'm confused why Foster and McKenzie are not used more. They were very good down the stretch. Adding Brown and Beasley shouldn't kick them off the field. McKenzie and Beasely in the slot and Foster and Brown outside. It's not great but one of them beats man. -
I would move Gore to a more secondary role. Singletary's number of touches need to be doubled. I'm not asking for a Fournette or Elliot work load. 15 or so touches should be the average.
-
Knox needs to play. He adds an element to the passing game Kroft doesnt. Unlike the idea of 2 tes sets. Just with Knox and Kroft. Lee Smith should be regulated to 3 tes sets or short yardage.
-
On offense they need to get younger and athletic. I like Gore Smitg and Kroft but they should be regulated to smaller roles. Singeltary and Knox need to be a larger part of the offense. Both have yac abilty and will help Buffalo succeed against man to man. Unless, there was an injury I was surprised to see McKenzie not dress. Like Knox, and Singeltary he is an explosive player. Yesterday the offense looked slow. Defensively, Oliver is going to be an issue Mcd has to figure out. LA Rams have a similar problem with Donald. Due to their size they can get washed out at times. Peko is a good story but should not see the field imo. Overall, this was one of the games we wanted but didnt need to have. Buffalo wasn't going to go 15-1. Buffalo still hasnt peaked or played a complete game yet.

Lol lost 2 games. Still in the wildcard slot. Lost to a NFC and besides record doesnt play into tiebreaker formula.

The eagles are very tough front runners. If they get an early lead, this will be very difficult game. Imo if Buffalo can jump on them early they will fold. They seem to be on the verge of imploding.

R Talbot (via ESPN) - bills on the hunt for a WR
Mat68 replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I cant imagine Mike Evans available. I would offer a 1st plus. -
All season, going into every game Allen needs to this or this. Allen is hitting the benchmarks in year two. They just are not the ones that end up on talk shows or fantasy football leagues. Hes not throwing for 300, 400, or 500 yards. He isnt running for 75, 100 or 150 yards. However, after 17 career games he as won more than hes lost. This year he improved his largest deficit. The short to intermediate passing attack. 0 to 20 yards are the majority of the NFL passes. He is top rated in that area. Secondly, where are NFL games won? The 4th quarter. He leads the league in 4th quarter passer rating and 4th quarter game winning drives. Allen is becoming a legit starter. His continued improvement is going to turn Buffalo into a team no one wants to play come January.

I thought I saw somewhere that when you break it down to even under 30 yards hes still very high. He hasnt hit a deep ball, and he has been intercepted on a handful of deep passes too. PFF talks out of both sides of their mouth with Allen. Last year when Allen was top 5 in deep balls they stated deep ball accuracy is a volatile rating. Going as far to say there is no correlation year over year and for Allen to become a capable starter he has to show the ability to consistently be accurate in the short to intermediate range. He does just that he is given 0 credit. Is he an MVP candidate? No. Is he improving from year 1 to 2? I think its its obviously yes. Imo, the deep ball right now is watching a shooter on a cold stretch. The way the % work, hes going to hit a streak of them. When he does the optics of his play and performances get a big boost.

In terms of developing into an actual franchise Qb Allen is further along on that path. His largest weakness short to intermediate has become his strength. My issue with the PFF guys is that they are moving the goal posts with Allen. During the offseason the signing of Beasley was mocked because, Allen isnt accurate in the short to intermediate. This year he is killing it in that area. With no recognition of the improvement, its Allen is going to always be a problem cause x. They keep changing x.

First Time I have been concerned with Josh Allen
Mat68 replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Has he improved? I think he has. Accuracy was his "issue". He has shown to be accurate as anyone inside 30 yards. Imo, you can tell that's what he spent the better part of the off season concentrating on. In terms of the deep ball the % are what they are. I think it's like a shooter in a funk. Keep shooting and they will fall. Same thing here. I understand that there are bench marks that people want Allen to pass. I think there will be times where they will be challenged by tougher/more talented teams and Allen will be given an opportunity to step up. With the Defense and Hc Allen isnt going to be asked or coached to carry the team often to put up gaudy stats. In spots, in the second half of games, when they had to have it, hes delivered. That's about all you can ask from a second year Qb imo. -
Mid rd pick? Why not? Even if he just plays 3rd down for and doesnt resign I wouldn't hate it.

I think Singletary could be in store for a massive game.
