Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
Mat68 replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Beane plays chess not checkers. Having Moore with this draft is 🤌 -
They did draft one this year. With the first pick last year. They drafted Shorter the year prior and the year before that they picked Shakir. What are we talking about?
-
I would argue 1 can.
-
Elijah Moore has been a more consistent wr compared to Mack Hollins. Moore has been the better wr over the course of his career with his best Qb being a washed Flacco. I think Moore is a sneaky good fit. Need cover 1 with a deep dive but I think he has a strong case to thrive in the offense.
-
I understand the comp based off draft capital. The money says otherwise. I think Moore is a more well rounded receiver compared Claypool, Isibella, and Hamler. Imo Moore is a better fit in the offense and Allens passing game. Imo it gives Shakir a Robin. Where he can bounce inside or outside based off where Shakir lines up. That said he may not make the team but his shot at the 53 is as good or better than any wr available on day 3 of the draft.
-
The conversation that sent Beane was Jeremy telling Sal he was going to ask Beane why he undervalues wr compared to the rest of the league. Beane didnt see value in the draft and brought in the best available FA instead. Good business.
-
The trade is relevant to me because some think they dont do anything to improve wr. Imo since Brady took over Buffalo hasnt been able to play the same style of defense Mcdermott wants to. Back 7 has been slow. Playoffs they have been exposed. I want Allen to have as many weapons as possible. Has to make sense though. Draft was very meh at wr. College in general was besides 2 freshman.
-
Still need guys to cover em. I think Wr can and should be looked at to improve at all times. Hard to find a flaw in judgement for the picks made. Besides any wr is better. Arguing over day 3 picks is wild. Each guy has a path to make the team.
-
He was not good. After the trade the offense was. Palmer is an upgrade over Cooper and Hollins. My point Beane has no problem being aggressive. He didnt trade up for Thomas. Philly, Miami, LAR and Pittsburgh all got value at positions of need. You cant just trade up because you want to. Need someone who wants to move back. Pretty obvious they missed on their top players and why they moved backed. This year everyone expected DE, DT,CB in some order. Complaining about a 4th rd wr not drafted is asinine. Royals or Horton would have a tough time cracking the top 4 barring injury. Moore or another similar wr offers the 25 Bills the same value maybe more. Whats the issue? Poor wr draft. Deep dline draft. Turns out Buffalo best value picks were db on day 3. Day 3 get your highest rated guys and guys who could make the team. I see no problem with what happened.
-
Said player doesnt block or play teams. The 5th wr will have a roster spot and jersey for the 3 deep shots a game? When in reality the explosive play comes when its a simple sail concept and Allen rolls out and finds someone for down the field outside of structure.
-
So he has demonstrated he will make a move to fix the position if it needs it? He did it in October. They did not like the wr class. Many did not. The big needs at dline and db were filled. Why is this still be discussed. If the team has a need Beane has shown he will go to great lengths to fix them.
-
Correct. 0 awareness. Sanders heard his whole life how his dad bullied coaches in his combine interviews. Was set up for failure with everything around him. Needed an outsider with fresh perspective to get him drafted higher. I dont think he is the partier Manziel was. Seems like he was given terrible advice and guidance from December to March.
-
0 reports of good ones.
-
They are interviewing others the same age. They are not interviewing Sanders and a bunch of 30 year olds. Not one report has come out that he blew anyone away. Fringe starter lacking back up traits.
-
That wasnt the context. They said Beane obviously undervalues the position because he didnt draft one earlier. They challenged his ability to properly do his job. Why would he let that slide?
-
Agents still steer clients to teams with open spots. Buffalo would be one of the worst spots to go to as a UDFA rb. Starter backup 3rd down locked up. Evans able to play. Gore has the leg up with scheme. They were picked before. You cant assume Buffalo didn't try to move up.
-
Noone is saying that you cant and we cant. Telling a different guest right before how you’re going to call out Beane on air isnt that. They cut that part out then they can ask questions. Was probably gonna break the Moore news too.
-
The most offensive output the Chiefs had in 2 seasons were in the playoff games eliminating the Bills. Thats a problem
-
They didnt ask a question. They told Sal they were asking Beane why he undervalues the wr position. Beane came in swinging before being put in a corner.

Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)

And the package became better when Coleman took it over. MVS also had a long history of being a deep threat. It also was while Samuel was out. -
Correct. Imo the big plays organically comes with Allen on busted plays. Passing plays are designed under 20 yards. Get the best guys that operate in that space. Taking the low% throw is allowing the defense to dictate to you. Im very interested how a more rocked up Coleman impacts his game. For his size he was slender. Being a physical player a little more armor should help.

They were never designing a package for the 5th wr on the roster if they made it. -
I don't really think the Sanders being involved has done anything but amplified it. The amount of times it happened is the issue not who its happening to. I expect the NFL comes down hard in an effort to eliminate it. In a multibillion business and massive tv contracts the league is providing the phones and they are ending up in coaches kids hands for prank calls? Any business this happens your fired. Give your kids co workers or clients information to prank call and it is discovered how will your day go?

Bills 5th Round Pick (#2) : Jackson Hawes - TE - Georgia Tech
Mat68 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
At that point hard to find guys with a real shot at not only the 53 but also the 46. High odds he makes it and dresses on Sundays. -
NFL can’t punish the kid. The league gives out the phones and numbers so the pranks are an issue with the prevalence. His dad the former head coach of the Jets and current DC of the Falcons 100% should be. His son went through his work computer and emails for it? Sounds very suspect to me. Dad gave son the numbers. Dad thought it was funny too is more accurate.
