Bills 4th Round Pick : Deone Walker - DT - Kentucky
Mat68 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Widest range of outcomes with Walker. Already tall and hard to play with leverage. A hairline fracture in his back could explain his play in 24 and how different it was in 23. Imo take some of the internet scouting with a grain of salt. No telling what game was watched to form the opinion. Daquan Jones is not your typical 1T. 300-310 well put together not overweight. He was at his best getting in the backfield and penetrating the gap. 2 gapping is not what he was doing. The position forces the double but they are instructed to beat it first hold ground second. Both Walker and Sanders can do it. Imo Walker isn't getting more than 15 to 20 snaps. See Jordan Davis snap count in the super bowl. Keep the big man fresh and let him be Godzilla a handful of plays a game. -
Agents told them they have 3 solidified players on the 53. Evans made the Bills 53 in the past and the team like Gore Jr. thats 5 backs. Basically, signing a UDFA as a camp body without path to make the team. Cook will be there when he has to. Wouldnt be surprised if there is a handshake deal they wont tag him if they cant work out an extension over the next 10 months. Beane seems very confident that Cook wont be holding out.

Bills First Rnd pick in 2025 draft: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky
Mat68 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Its tough. Im not discounting the accusation. All these years later and all there is a reddit thread on it from years ago. Kentucky is a bball school and Hairston wasnt a highly rated recruit. Would have had to be from either a recruiting visit or early in his career because he was a minor at the time. -
Bills 3rd Rnd pick in 2025 Draft : Landon Jackson - DE - Arkansas
Mat68 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Big athletic guy. Vs the Mahomes and Jackson you need to collapse the pocket. Run the hoop they get pushed past and they are out of the pocket. Jackson slides right into the rotation. Great value in rd 3. Many thought he was an early second rder. -
Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
Mat68 replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Moore is better wr than any one available on day 3 and most of the guys on day 2 in this draft. Wr class was weak why reach for one? Guys who were late day 3 went early day 3. Anias Smith and Keandre Lambert Smith to name a few. -

Midly productive with terrible qb play for the majority of his career. I think he is worth a look. -
I dont even think thats the case they pissed off Beane. It was clear rd 2 and 4 they had Sanders and Walker rated highest on their boards. The other rds it is hard to say they missed on the obvious wr. Imo dline and foot speed in the secondary was a problem. Post Hyde and Poyer they got slow. Beane went a long way in filling the 2 biggest needs on the roster.

Literally were telling Sal they were going to ask Beane why he undervalues wr compared to the league. Beane traded a slew of picks for Diggs. Traded day 2 picks for Benjamin and Copper. Drafted a Wr last season at 33. Signed arguably the top wr in FA. 2 of his best draft hits were on Davis and Shakir. I think wr is comparable to every other position on the roster.

Bills 4th Round Pick : Deone Walker - DT - Kentucky
Mat68 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would argue the difference Buffalo want penetration even from the 1T position. Jones was a beast in 22. Disruption and pass rush. Walker if healthy can offer that. The player in 23 was that. Learning from Jones should benefit him and Sanders. -
Bills 5th Round Pick (#1) : Jordan Hancock - CB - The Ohio State
Mat68 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Must be good pick than lol. -
I think Pranther is as good or better at wr as Thornton. If he is able to play on teams he has a shot to make the 53.

Bills 6th Round Pick (#1) : Dorian Strong - CB - VA Tech
Mat68 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I felt the Bills have gotten slow in the secondary. They added very much needed juice and athleticism. Hybrid nickel safety with Hancock. Higher caliber athlete than Lewis. Strong is a big zone cb. Better athlete than Ingram or Jackson. Hairston pick speaks for itself. Can they play? Idk but all of the profiles are promising and fits in Buffalos scheme. -
Bills 2nd Rnd pick in 2025 Draft : TJ Sanders - DT South Carolina
Mat68 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the back injury adds context on his play his senior year. Big SOB. 15 to 20 snaps can he be a problem? Will be able to learn from Jones. I like what Buffalo did up front. -
If you think Coleman is slow I have some news for you.

The OSU kid played nickel and some safety.

Spies don't get caught though…

Bond is out on Bond. He is going undrafted.

Athlete for nickel and safety. I like it. Imo biggest needs were dline and athleticism in the secondary. Both are filled and then some. -
Bills 2nd Rnd pick in 2025 Draft : TJ Sanders - DT South Carolina
Mat68 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Saw a profile that had him listed at 280’s and wrote him off. If he plays 300-310 thats about what Daquan plays at. Having penetrating ability and offering pass rush ability is more important. Im good with it. -
Bills First Rnd pick in 2025 draft: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky
Mat68 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Coming from Troy and Kentucky are not the same thing. Im most optimistic about his zone coverage ability. Normally, guys with Hairstons ability are just told to cover that guy and thats it. Having a college career in a zone heavy defense is a better reflection of NFL football. -

ATL gave up a first to move up. Beane wouldnt do that. Harman and Grant were too rich. Imo Williams isnt those guys. Norman-Lott, Collins, Alexander are all similar imo. DB was a need. Filled with arguably the highest rated player without red flags. 2 second rd picks makes Buffalo in play at any point. Dline is deep. Many have went already. Also, many teams have already drafted edge and interior lineman. Odds are high a few good one will be available. -
Bills First Rnd pick in 2025 draft: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky

Hairston played 80% zone in college. He has the athleticism to play man. He is a prefect fit for zone match coverage. -

Imo it’s an easy fit. Off man and zone is what kept Elam off the field. He is very good at it. -

He led the SEC in picks in 23 but has trouble tracking the ball down field? People are crazy. Watch what he does to Texas with Bond and Golden. Neither can run away from him. -

Johnson and Benford count or no? Cant listen to one report and take it as gospel. Many think he will be very good. https://youtube.com/shorts/8T0A69UiFbI?si=46YeSORXz7-oF45R
