Yep. Felt the same way. I dont see how Ne plays a much better game than that. That was worst the Bills played on offense in over 18 games.

For all you McDermott haters, who would you want? (Now a poll)
Mat68 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
They are 4-1. 2-1 in the division. They were not going undefeated. They were splitting with a division rival. Defenses wasn't that bad with 2 practice squad DTs and the offense was unusually sloppy. Why the negativity? -
He was 2019 Allenish. It was obviously a much bigger game to NE than to Buffalo. It seems they win the Superbowl in October. I remember those times during the drought years. Was the worst offensive output in a year. Not really much of it was due to Ne defense imo. I think the team needed it. Playing sloppy and winning was becoming a trend.

The final play to Shakir. Samuel was wide open for easy TD
Mat68 replied to MikePJ76's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is not Madden. This is also not 2021-23 Josh. Yes, Allen is one of 2 guys on the planet who could get the ball there. It is also being eyed by both the safety and backside corner. Imo if he rips it, which would take a gather to generate the force to get it there, would be a contested catch in double coverage. Younger Josh makes that choice to win it or possibly lose it. Shakir had a few steps but Gonzalez made a great play. It was the right decision. Get points see if the d can get a stop. -
Their passing defense and total yards against say a different thing. Teams not named baltimore are having trouble sustaining drives and making explosive plays. Olave, Shaheed, Wilson, Hall, Hill, Waddle and Achane had 0 plays over 20 yards. Those are some of the most explosive guys in the league. I think the chase for perfection is clouding some judgement on the current state of the defense. A few the last few weeks Buffalo covers and blows them out. Instead they win by 2 scores in each. With Milano and Oliver back I think Buffalo plays their best game on defense and blow the Patriots out. Maye is loose with ball and has a terrible game. Picks fumbles all of it.

Buffalo is better in every category of defense besides rushing defense. Ne doesnt have a good run game though. Ne has been out gained in all but 1 game. Buffalo hasnt given up more than 300 yards of offense since Baltimore and holding teams under 150 yards passing. Without things getting weird Buffalo blows em out. Ne game plan is bascilly NO and Miami. How do we not get blown out? Play ball control, bleed the clock hope for special teams points and turnovers to have a shot.

Right now NE is prime draught Bills and they don't realize it. Out of 22 starters NE might have 2 guys who could start on the Bills. Buffalo would have to play the worst they have played since maybe Houston last season and even then I think Allen still pulls it out late. All the weird things are needed here. Special teams touchdowns, multiple turnovers paired with a clean game from NE. Who themselves are turnover and penalty prone.
-
Buffalo has played more 4-3 than in any previous year. Ne is not a good offense or good defense. They hold no advantages in the match up. Only way they keep it close is by having a punt or kick return Td. Those were required in their only wins.

Length and size plays better in the NFL not as much a space game like college. Imo by being thin at LB Solomon has dressed mainly for special teams. I think Solomon has not finished while in the defensive rotation. He is there just not making plays though getting in position to make them. I would like to see Jackson make his debut and think he offers more against the run but im not at practice so who knows. Hoping it’s more special teams related and not a readiness issue with Jackson.

Week 5, Cheats v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
Mat68 replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Patriots are feeling good. A few things bounce their way they could be 3-1. Seems like Patriots fans are prairie dogging this game. Wont say it but think they can contend if they win. They all seem to waken and are watching and hoping the Patriots finally closed the gap to Buffalo. We have lived this with Trent Edwards, Ej Manuel, Fitzpatrick and others. Buffalos defense makes a statement. Allen shows how far away the Patriots really are. 43-13 Buffalo. -
Right now? No. Week 1 has cratered the run defense thus far. Overall, they have complete shut down the pass. 3 games in a row under 150 yards passing is elite. Couple scrambles from Fields and Rattler makes the over all run defense worst that it has been imo. Oliver , Milano back Ogunjobi and Hoecht soon. I think in short order you look up and they will be top 10 in pretty much everything.

Bad teams dont play football that way. Bad qbs eventually make bad qb plays. These type of games are lost by the better team. Turnovers and penalties. I dont expect them to be taken lightly. Coming off a tough game vs Miami and NO. Make Maye win from the pocket. I could see Allen going nuclear or Cook continuing his great start. I think Buffalo scores 30-40 and NE struggles to get to 17. Too many years we were on the opposite side of these early “measuring stick” games. They are in pads… not a walk thru. Milano and Oliver in pads getting work seems to be they are going to play. Both sat out last wed.

Chiefs vs Jacksonville seems like an obvious one. Very much a game Jacksonville always lose.

They (Deon) his pseudo agent told teams with Franchise QBs not to draft him. Specifically, Baltimore and Philly reached out the day before the draft and told them not to draft him.
-
Rex was 100% right. Deon and the whole support system failed Sheduer. Right now Sheduer is failing Sheduer. He needs to be seen not heard until he gets a chance on the field. Rex is eluding to not doing all the little things Gabriel is doing. Trying to spin the narrative that its an old race narrative of said player lacks leadership intangibles but is “athletic” its wild. Sanders has to put in the work on and off screen. If he is off screen he isn't showing it on screen. No one has been able to dismiss the failed interview thing. Deon declined Baltimore and Philly before the draft. Man wouldn't Baltimore be a good spot right now?

Bills asking fans to wear all white for the Pats game on Sunday
Mat68 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. The Bills announcing an artist and song as the “new” anthem would go over very differently. -
1. Sit west side/ Dolphins side. Shade side. Away side is directly in the sun. 2. I stayed almost dead east on the ocean. Easy in and out. Didnt go but Ft Lauderdale there is a pretty big bills party night before.

Sauce Gardner is crying, but does he have a point?
Mat68 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Full stop. He has been grabby his entire career. Getting called for it now doesn't mean you weren't before. Bad teams also commit penalties and turn the ball over. This has been the Jets for 50 years. -
Evaulation (of this team) after a quarter of season gone
Mat68 replied to ganesh's topic in The Stadium Wall
Offense is all systems go. Defense is still finding its rotation. Ed Oliver was the best defender week 1 he hasn’t played since. Milano was all over the field first half vs the Jets. Hasn’t played since. Their eventual returns with the returns of Ogunjobi and Hoecht is an upgrade to 1/3 of the defense. Mcdermott is back to shutting down the pass. Minus the qb runs the run defense has improved as the season has continued. Offense is ahead of schedule and defense is on schedule. To be expected imo with the change over on defense and the continuity on offense. -
Bills asking fans to wear all white for the Pats game on Sunday
Mat68 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Without grass roots it comes off as a marketing campaign. If it’s pulled off great. It would look pretty sick. Like the crowd is and fanbase is salivating to beat the Pats? Vs the Ravens or Chiefs? Sure. Very much Fox asking Penn St for a big noon white out type energy to me. -
Is Hawes in the process of surpassing Knox as TE2??
Mat68 replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes. Hawes needs to be sure handed with his opportunities but so far so good. Kincaid has leveled up as a blocker. I would like to see Kincaid get more snaps compared to the 50 ish percent he is currently at. -
Bills asking fans to wear all white for the Pats game on Sunday
Mat68 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Leave it to college. They charge $200 for jerseys now. Let fans wear what they want, what they got. Gonna do it? Hand out “white out” T shirts at the gate. Doubt that happens because they are peddling the cold front gear. Looks weak when it’s not 80 to 90%. Too many none home team fans at NFL games to pull off college gimmicks like white outs or whatever color you want. This is coming from someone who got the new cold front jersey. Who is also a Penn St fan and likes the white out. Early on they were handing out white t shirts at the beginning of it. Now the whole fan base knows. 6 days notice is too short imo. 60/40 tops? -
Are we sure this is an indictment on Jackson and not simply a prove it moment for Solomon. He flashed some last year. He is playing every special team snap. Also, getting his first rational snaps on defense. When the 2 suspensions are lifted Solomon was always a number to watch. I think we are at the point where he is a liability on defense. If this is still the story in 2 weeks or 4 than the Jackson questions will carry more weight. I do think avoiding 3 rookies on the field at once is a factor too.

A few random thoughts about the Saints Game - Please share yours as well
Mat68 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Samuel as kick returner and Shakir at punt returner makes Codrington very replaceable. Bass, Hairston, Grable, Hoecht, and Ogunjobi are all returning here soon. Spots are certainly getting taken. First is a return specialist.
