Deshaun Watson suffers 2nd achillies rupture
Mat68 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right. Why doesn't Stefanski get any blame for kicking Mayfield out. If he wanted him he would still be there. -
I dont think they have the horse power on offense to make a run at the division. I think thwy will be around 9-10 wins. Unsure about the Jets with Glenn. I think its a clean house job year 1. The McDaniel mastermind comes to a crashing end imo. Miami wins 5 to 6 games and the team quits on him.

He also came out this offseason and took the blame for it. Stefanski and Berry do not get nearly enough blame for souring so quickly on Mayfield. They were out on him which opened the door for going after Watson. Could have had Mayfield for half the money and retained the draft capital. That is on the football people in Cleveland. The owner bellied up to the table to fix the problem. If he wasn't convinced Baker wasn't the answer the move doesn't take place. -
Curious if a little lighter he could play power end.

If you trade up to 2 you take Carter. Carter is a better pass rusher than Hunter is a wr or Cb. Biggest weakness is lack of premier pass rusher. Carter will be pro bowl to All pro caliber for 10 years.

Worst contract in sports. NFL PA ruined fully guaranteed contracts for decades due to that deal. -

Too much dead cap this year. Post June 1st 160 mil dead cap over this year and next. Plus still owed 43 mil. 2026 not much better at 120 dead cap spread over 2 years 2026 and 27. -
Vrabel is best coach of the other three teams. They will take advantage of a last place schedule. They don't have the offense to threaten Buffalo but they will be buttoned up and surprise some teams.
-
At age 39 went over 1300 yards and 40 over 1100
-
Jerry Rice career yards or Tds are so far it’s crazy. Gotta average 1,144.75 yards and 9.85 TDs for 20 years to tie him in both areas.
-
Giants, Cle and New England are not drafting a Cb in the top 5 imo. He is getting drafted to score tds.
-
I agree with this. If Beane drafts a DT in rd 1 they will have pass rush ability. Many that do have pass rush ability are 3 techs and not a scheme fit with Ed. Harmon has the size imo to hold up at 1 tech. He can be disruptive in the backfield vs the run and offer pass rush ability. The traditional nose tackles who are 2 down player will be the targets in rd 2.

He has the natural catching ability and agility to be elite at wr. He has only practiced in the offseason. During the season he didn't practice. He has alot of growth potential at either position. His best attributes are those of top wrs. Someone with his speed, agility, and hands dont play defense for long.
-
On tape he has had no issue with press. What he lacks in length, he makes up for in stature. He is not an X but Z and Slot in the NFL are not that different. Every play has either a shift or motion element. Bills need a deep threat he is that. Imo he is the most well rounded wr that offers that dimension in the draft. Fast in game and timed. Produced in college. Is versatile to play multiple spots.
-
Imo Douglas comes back if Buffalo doesnt draft a cb early. He is waiting to see how it goes. Insurance for Buffalo to avoid another Elam pick.
-
That tells a different story than your conclusion. What is your concern with him playing outside? What makes you feel he cant succeed outside in the NFL?
-
Watson was in a more run first offense that explained his production. Only thing that has slowed him in the NFL have been injuries. Tenn and Oregon are both passing offenses. Seems more like Justin Shorter. Blue chip high school recruit, good off the field, that was unable to be productive. Late day 3 imo. Watson was an early second rd pick and way more productive.

Bills halt contract negotiations with Cook
Mat68 replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Beane is reasonable. Comes down to what Cook and his agent have to have. Imo come TC Cook takes a deal like Benford and Rousseau. In the 12-13 range. Beane wont lock the door. A knock and a little give they make it happen. A top 10 back is worth paying at the moment. It’s an under paid position. Cook has been a better rb than Shakir has been a Wr and Rousseau has been a DE. -
With Coleman and Palmer they do not have a need for a full time outside WR. Imo they need a guy interchangeable with Shakir. I think Shakir will be the move around piece in the offense when not in the slot in motion. Noel can do jet motion gadget stuff. Smoke screens, pure slot with a real vertical ability. Im not saying he is 100% outside but he is functional. He is a bigger, faster, more explosive Zay Flowers with the same arm length. Buffalo needs a guy who can win deep. Who cares if it’s from a stack or slot? Noel would be the most explosive wr Allen has ever had. If he was 2 inch taller 2 inch longer he is a top 10 wr.
-
Held at the footsteps of the new stadium.
-
I think Shakir will be the Z. More so the motion wr. Diggs was mainly that as well. I think player groupings will be dictated by matchup and game script. I can see any of the three Coleman, Palmer and Shakir on the field in 2 wr situations. I think Shakir will be the focal point of the passing game. Coleman, Palmer and Samuel fitting in around him. Samuel and Coleman both pair well off of Shakir moving around.
-
As a full time X you’re right. As a Z and slot he will fine. Imo he fills a hole at deep threat. Also, offers way more everywhere else.
-
I dont agree. His speed and explosiveness allows him to play outside. Buffalo needs deep speed. Having a complete route tree with the ability to play slot is a plus. Shakir and him almost interchangeable at z and slot.
