  1. I disagree. Each position needs a standard or floor of play. For a rookie who has never played in the NFL you have a wide variance of outcomes. In Johnson and Williams case you have an expectation of how they will perform in Buffalos scheme. Im sure there is optimism that this system will allow them to produce more than they have showed in the past. Both coming from 2 gap schemes and playing out to the offensive tackle. If the draft comes around and they take a DT the level of play will have to match or surpass that level. Drafting to replace holes was what the former regimes did in Buffalo. The roster never improves that way because every player wont work out.
  2. I think you could see a day 3 pick on a player with Return ability whether that is Rb or Wr.
  3. I could see any round. I think Rd 2 is more likley. They will be aggressive to get the WR or DE they covet. I expect they go WR and DE first two picks. Not sure in what order.
  4. Wr rd 1. Trade up for De rd 2. I think Trice, Baswell, or Kneeland will be drafted by Buffalo. Can play 3 downs instantly and be part of the rotation. They can wait a little for 3tech and secondary depth.
  5. Historically, Leggette is not the type of prospect Beane drafts in rd 1. Majority of the successful first rd wrs are juniors. I dont hate the player but something to consider. Allen seemed to like him when he brought his name up.
  6. Latu may not be on Buffalos board due to his medicals. Thomas Jr athletic profile and age matches Beanes first rd picks. Leggette would be a complete outlier from their first rd picks.
  7. I think you can double dip later in the draft. Rice, Baker or Thrash who have some size and can line up anywhere. If they go for say Mitchell I would look at one of the smaller guys in that same range.
  8. I wouldnt like it but I would respect it.
  9. I take the opposite body type the top of day 3. If you go smaller early I would look at Baker, Thrash, Rice if they still available. You went bigger body early I would look for Malik Washington, Crowing, Tahj Washington. I think early than later is more likley. Or back to back if they waited on Wr. The guys drafted before Jefferson that busted is also a consideration. I would expect Beane was shocked Jefferson was still there. Either way Beane took a sure thing that has been top 5 across the board since arriving.
  10. I think if Oduzne or Thomas make it to 19 to 20 range Beane will try to move up. After the top 4 you would have to look at what Beane drafts in round 1. Young guys with elite traits. That would include both Texas wrs Worthy and Mitchell. Troy Franklin from Oregon and Keon Coleman. They have been talking about explosiveness, I think that disqualifies Coleman. His 40 limits him to day 2. That leaves realistically Worthy, Mitchell or Franklin. I would be happy with any of them. If your fans of guys not mentioned than Buffalo may go a different position round 1 and get aggressive day 2 or trade back.
  11. Johnson and Williams seem to be better than Phillips(injured) and Settle. I think both are more 1 techs with is fine with me. I expect at some point in the draft Buffalo drafts a guy who can penetrate and play 3 tech. Similar to 3-4 DE there scheme limitations can force good players to drop.
  12. Or just get a guy who gets open. D Hop uses incredible hand size and body control. He is not fast or imposing. He is one of many examples on why waiting for Wr is better than over drafting one.
  13. Rd 1. Chop Robinson, Brian Thomas Jr, Xavier Worthy Johnson Powers Rd 2. Ruke Orhorhoro, Kris Jenkins, Khyree Jackson, Roman Wilson, Xavier Leggette Later Vaki, Elijah Jones, Rice, Coleman, Lemmioux
  14. Sanders and Brown would be deemed too small to play outside by some here. Players skill determines where they will be able to play. Having interchangeable pieces makes them harder to defend. I think adding a player who can run past defenders that expands the coverage vertically has been lacking for some time. Dont need to be 200 plus or over 6-1.
  15. If Buffalo doesnt draft a Rb they will be going shopping post june 1st for 1. Many options. I would lean more Zeke style. Dobbins is a high injury risk. Need a guy for the Murray role but with more juice.
  16. Your right. Given the choice I go Worthy over Mitchell. Though size may push Mitchell above him.
  17. Some are talking about Leggette and Franklin and many other names could still be available at 60. At 28 Mitchell is a question mark. Expecting guys to produce more in the NFL than in college at a skill position can be a fools errand. He has the tools but was never the guy at either school. Im on the fence with Mitchell. Mitchell and Robinson are similar prospects in my opionon. DE as a position has a higher track record of those style guys succeeding than wr does. I think given the choice Buffalo goes Robinson over Mitchell. Im ok with Ladd but would prefer a trade back to pick up a 3rd. At 28 I would go Worthy over Ladd. Worthy was more productive every year of his career.
  18. Adding Samuel allows them to pivot if that guy isnt available at 28 in their eyes. At 28 the guy should have the potential to take over for Diggs. Outside of the top 4 the rest is beauty in the eyes of the beholder. The Wr prospect everyone will pound the table for at 28 may be there at 60.
  19. Imo Worthys speed will create cushion. Some teams dont press and some that do may not want to press him. Ladd has the footwork to get off press. Ladds production and injury history is what will keep him out of rd 1 imo. Both will be able to line up anywhere. Ladd more a technician and Worthy with explosiveness. You dont need to be 6-2 over 200 pds to play outside.
  20. In man situations he is an upgrade over Davis. 90% of the offensive production is short to intermediate. Having guys that excel in that area will make for a more efficient passing attack. Without Davis the offense needs a deep threat. Samuel fills a hole. At 28 Wr isnt as obvious. I think Beane adds a wr with deep ball ability with one of their top 3 picks. May not be 28. The wr class is deep enough where Beane can find that player rd 2 or 3 if they really like some better rd 1 or 2.
  21. I think its Wr or a DE they like falls to them. Imo you have Verse, Latu, Turner, and Chop Robinson. Those are the only guys with elite traits. The other DEs are day 2 prospects. One of them is available and say the top 4 wrs are gone they take the higher or similar rated DE. Those guys are gone they go Wr or possibly move back. Beane will go elite traits and young rd 1 or move back.
  22. I see Davis as the offensive loss equivalent to the departure of Edmunds on defense. Davis was a starter the last 2 seasons had very good games but also was what he was and played a certain way. A way the defense knew how to stop or contain. Samuel offers diversity in attack. Has the speed to run past coverage while also experience running routes and receiving handoffs out of the backfield. Samuel makes the offense harder to defend and excels at beating man. Buffalo has struggled to beat man if Diggs is taken away.
  23. The play that injured Andrews. Levy a fine and move along.
  24. That defender better make contact or its a big play.
  25. Worthy. Can be a weapon and line up anywhere. His speed allows him to line up outside. Can create space underneath and can run past you.
