  1. No, he is 100 direct competition for KR. Likely leader in the clubhouse with the ability to play some wr and viable on game days. I have always been intrigued by him.
  2. Finding a solid depth player who is a good return man is tricky. Offensive gadget guy is the closest you can get usually. Codrignton was a good returner. Wont be easy taking that.
  3. Elam would have to play well to qualify into the comp formula. Imo Buffalo would cut him if a trade wasnt found. After the Chiefs game he wasn’t going to be on the field for the Bills again. Something for him and the trade negates the dead cap if cut. Avoid the late day 3 picks move up to middle day 3 if possible.
  4. No. Hollins big wr role will be Coleman or Kincaid. Palmer will take most of the traditional X reps. Shenault will battle for KR. In the offense he would be a larger body move/gadet player. Some of the stuff they did with Mckenzie and last year Samuel. If he is willing to cover kicks he could be a game-day player. They are a mess. They wouldn't even be able to tank tight.
  5. I dont think that was a red flag. The system and the player not fitting was. The things that made him a first rd talent were things Buffalo didnt ask of him right away. Elam was a developmental prospect at zone corner. In a more man heavy scheme he likley plays better out the gate. Now his confidence was shot and a change required. Liking the kid, work ethic, and athlete doesnt mean he also fits your scheme. Buffalo needs to find a guy with off coverage instincts with enough athleticism to play man. The reverse is much harder to develop.
  6. BPA. Not having big needs takes that out of the equation. Draft the top players on the board. Bolsters depth. Avoid the getting sniped on Mcduffie settling for Elam fiasco. Bosa doesn’t stop them from doing anything at edge same thing with Ogunjobi doesnt stop them from draft a DT. Adding a high pick to either room vastly changes the perception of each room. 2 -3 deep with quality players is a vast improvement.
  7. Cant compare a 30 year old who is viewed as a 4th or 5th wr to a guy projected to start outside and in his mid 20’s. Little rich for my blood but was perceived as one of the top available wrs. Compared to Darius Slayton both signed for the same money. Robinson is similar to Hollins to NE both 2 years 9-10. 12 is going rate for a starting caliber WR. Palmer will be on the field alot. Correct. Also, based off other contracts and his projected value its market value leaning slightly under.
  8. Flyer on a player with draft pedigree. Probably had a good internal grade on him. Untraditional player. Not a refined route runner. Best chance for him is winning KR job and being a depth wr with a jersey on game days. Needs to be a gadget guy. I dont see Brady scheming touches for him. Alot of players on offense I want to see get the ball first.
  9. No. More so where Cooper is. I expect them to draft one too. Palmer is a solid NFL WR. Wins outside. Is proficient vs man coverage. That was a need. Palmer is an answer to that. Palmer doesn't prohibit another wr move, but he raises the floor for the position.
  10. Big need very good player.
  11. How much does that save? Should be a pretty good saving cap wise.
  12. Very possible all the trade fodder at Edge was simply contract pandering. Outside of a big trade Bosa was the best player available. Yes, his recent injury history is concerning. Paying him 50 cents on the dollar is the price he paid for it. Playing 50% of snaps vs 70 plus he played most of his career could help him stay healthy. 3rd and 15 with Groot, Oliver, Ogunjobi and Bosa sound very good.
  13. Joesph and Hyde were close to playing in the playoffs. Need young depth with some athleticism. Seems to fit that mold.
  14. Saves them from drafting McCargo because they have no one else to play the position. I didnt see the fit with PIT. In an attack scheme like Buffalo I think he can play well. If they keep Jones I think he is an upgrade at the 3rd DT spot. Without Jones I think he could function better at 1T than anyone else on the roster last season. Ideally, I want Harmon or Grant at 30. Combination of Rookie, Oliver and Ogunjobi is an improvement over the past many years at DT.
  15. At the money it’s a great signing. Has a chance at his last big deal in 26. Played as good as Sweat in a “down year”. I think he can make to playoffs and make an impact. With McDermott's Dline rotational style I think it suits him well. Played 14 last year. A few game is fine here and there. Need him in January and Feb.
  16. I was surprised by the Steelers signing. More 4-3 DT than 3-4 lineman. I always liked him. I think he is best as disruptor instead of a two gap defender. I think if needed could play 1T. Has some pass rush ability to. Tables the need to go DT at 30. I still would want them to if Grant or Harmon are available. Plus move imo.
  17. Draft is deep at dline. Having a guy who can play edge on run downs and versatile on passing downs isn't nothing. Pairs well with a more pass rush specialist too. Prospect from BC and Marshall fit that profile and projected around 30. Maybe even a guy on day 2.
  18. At this stage. Kupp, Dhop, Copper even Adams imo are names. 2025 Palmer is as good as any of them outside looking at the analytics and efficiency ratings. He has been successful where the Bills offense has been lacking. He is 25 and entering his prime. Dont hate it. Big jump for Coleman? No. Offering more for the offense than what Hollins brought? Yes. Coleman and Hollins accounted for 950 plus yards and 10 plus Tds. If Coleman does 80% of that I'm happy. I think that is also realistic projection 750 and 8? That would be a very good year.
  19. Understanding why a situation is taking place doesn't change a persons emotions towards it. He tried to solider through it. The organization saw a difference in his play. Seems it was more a challenge mentally returning than a physical limitation. Realizing the season wont go the way he wanted had an effect. I don't think it’s from a place of being a bad teammate or lack of effort. I think its more so a less then 10% difference in his focus or preparation. At the highest level the 5-10% change is the difference in a starter or a back up or a practice squad player. He was honest about it. A level of experience and maturity can make that a different situation in the future. Seems to fit what both Mcdermott and Beane were talking about.
  20. Power end with good speed. Not flashy but a need. He wasn’t on my radar but style of FA I prefer. Played well when given the snaps. Maybe he can excel in a larger role.
  21. I expect Shakir to emerge as the primary option. Coleman and Kincaid as secondary options. Buffalo has lacked a player outside since Smoke. I think Palmer could have a career year with Allen. Like his age and efficiency. Not THE guy but a player with upside and a role that was needed.
  22. Another Beane after dark?
  23. If he agrees to a similar slightly less deal he did last season do it. His production and injury history is better than Bosa and likely less expensive. Would still want Hendrickson. Hendrickson, Miller, Rousseau and a rookie with Epenesea and Solomon is not a bad room.
  24. I agree with defense being priority at 30. I like what Burden offers after the catch. I think that translates to having the ability to improve his route running. I see him as potentially becoming a complete wr who can win at all levels of the field.
  25. I think they have to. Bring his cap down so we can Hendricksons contract under the cap before he is signed to a massive deal.
