Top 2 picks are primmed for starting roles. They also drafted a backup running back some were ready to discard Cook for. Grable apparently is the back up at LT. Not too bad after 1 season.

Paging Draftniks: Bills sign LSU CB Zy Alexander (and some other dudes)

Intrigued by the Zy Alexander signing. Possible PS stash. -

Coming off as a coach pushing buttons through the media then a full panic at the position. Bishop needs to step up. Babich more complimentary today. Little good cop/ bad cop. Now dont get me wrong Hancock is coming on fast. Bishop will need to play well to hold him off. Bishop and Rapp offer enough athleticism to help with the third down defense problem. That first TD vs the Bears should have been a 10-15 yard completion. Not ideal but lack of depth from Joe and no sqeeze from Hamlin compounded an already negative matchup of safety on wr. -
Matt Bove made a good point last night with Sal following hard knocks. Shavers is the same age as Davis. Shavers has played exactly 1 snap on Punt Coverage this pre season. His special teams ability is far more projection than actual proof of concept.

McDermott - "Still looking for that other safety"

The Safety play last season was not. Hamlin keeps the Bills from being multiple. I think Bishop is shaky but not long ago Benard terrified the fan base. 12 snaps in preseason isnt the end. Actual game planning for an opponent could help the group and the communication of the secondary as a whole. -
Im not saying he is. Moore doing something when Samuel is not doing anything. If Moore is clearly ahead of Samuel. With both Shakir and Samuel out why did he play when every Bill with a solid role sat? Joe sounds like every beat reporter to watch Moore. He has been a sleeper for years because of it. He is a post, post, post, post hype sleeper.

Jordan Hancock. Give him a look. I think he makes the defense more multiple. -

I think Starks was graded different. For a match zone scheme Emmamwori is an enigma. How fluid in coverage is he? I think Isiah Simmons hurt his evaluation. -
Please dont do this to Palmer, Moore or Samuel.. He is who he is. For 100 targets no way. For 50 or less yes.
-
That is conjecture based off Samuel not participating in training camp. Moore hasn’t out performed to a degree where eating more cap money while still being against the cap makes sense. Imo a tie goes to Samuel. Nothing has made Moore a lock imo. Moore has had unsubstantiated hype for 5 years now.

His failed attempt at wr 2 would have been wr 2 last season by a wide margin and would have led the team in TDs. I dont understand what some want. For peanuts he has a larger history of production than every single player on the roster. And the production came with Allen. If the Bills signed Davis Gabriel who played for a different team this would be the move of the offseason if they pulled it off.
-
He has exactly 1 catch. I like Shavers 2 but Gabe is a safer bet. He has proof of production. Shavers has no history of production in pro or college. Gabe Davis is an indictment on Moore and maybe even Palmer. Davis is more productive than all of them when healthy.
-
It’s not some sleeper thing. Guys on field where put in make or break spots. More guys broke. The bottom 45 played. All but a handful are gone in a week. I think this is the first year in a while where I dont want too many current Bills on practice squad. Pro personnel dept will earn its money next week imo.
-
I think Allen made bad choices on the majority of those 18 picks. Taking hole shots when he shouldnt. Passing up first downs for explosive tight window throws.
-
He has multiple years where he has more yards and Tds. Does anyone watch other teams? Why are we acting like he sucks? Is he Andre Reed? No. His best is better then half the wrs room best thus far. Question is really healthy. If healthy he helps the wr room.

Didn't realize Davis played qb?
-
Davis is not coming in with pre-Brady use. Shakir, Coleman, Kincaid are still the primary pass catchers. Wr 4 or 5 Davis is very good. Davis is a better wr than Moore. He very well could be better than Palmer.
-
Ironically, Gabe is a guy no one seems to want. Remove the injury plagued year last season and he is more productive than Palmer and Moore who everyone seems to want. If Gabe is willing to play teams I'm all for it. Even not he does all the little things blocking wise Moore does not.

Multiple bubbles bursted Sunday night. Corner, Te, linebacker, dt, Qb and Wr all shrunk in numbers. Meaning fewer guys are still fighting to make the roster. I think Cb Jackson played his way out. Codrington is not a viable player on defense. Shanualt or Hamler could be the returner and offer more on offense. Te is Knox, Kincaid, Hawes. Buffalo Joe is a core teamer only and played his way to the bubble. Top 5 DT jones, Oliver, both rooks and Carter. Trubisky is the back up. I would not be surprised if a different qb is on PS. I think Shavers and Moore swapped. Shavers a core teamer and adds some size and juice outside. I could see Hamler as punt returner and back up to Shakir or Moore is on the roster and they keep 6 but doesn't dress.

He was very good. For a few years around the 4-5th best WR in football with Allen. That offense was hell on wheels. He was a monster. As a fan I cant be mad at how he ended. Seems like the point was how are we going to win it all by doing the same thing.
-
Majority of the guys playing and playing poorly wont play at all.
-
Im little surprised and optimistic about Coleman sitting out with the starters. Him sitting and Palmer playing is an interesting development. I think Palmer was expecting to come in and be a focal point of the offense. Im not sure thats the case. Coleman seems to be running away with the top role at WR.

Does there need to be a rethinking of the basic D?

Putting the guys fighting for roster spots in sink or swim positions. Yes, they wanted the players to rise to the moment and win the game. More importantly they know what they have and dont have in some players. At this point that is more important.
