  1. After letting Po and Hyde walk I would be surprised if they went with another 30 year old vet for good money.
  2. The argument is by hitting on later round guys their cap number is less then the vet minimum and controlled for a few years. Yes you can fill holes with vet minimum FA but they are 1 year deals. They contribute or over perform they either walk in FA or get a significant bump in pay. Limiting the veteran presence on the bottom of the roster will make it more enticing for priority UDFAs. They can choose where to sign. Buffalo for the last few years has not seen much action in this category because the path to the roster was crowded by veterans.
  3. Simple depending on how the draft falls might walk away with good value on day 3. If so sign a UDFA and or cheap vet. If a back is not drafted sign a vet after the draft. Pretty simple. Still not a overwhelming room should be in position to sign a pretty highly rated UDFA.
  4. Mitchell has really intrigued me. Size and speed you would say is ideal. Worthy was the guy though. Thats what I come back to. 165 is light but not by much compared to Desean Jackson or Devonta Smith. Worthy was the more productive player his entire career. I like the idea of still going WR round 1. Like the value at WR at 28 and I think there will be value at 60 for Dline. Whether at edge or DT.
  5. X is the player on the line there for does not motion. Its pretty arbitrary in modern football. The best wrs move around to make it harder to scheme against. People saying they want a X or the Bills need an X they want a WR that is big and tall.
  6. At some point you have to pivot off the Chiefs. The Bills cant try to out Chief the Chiefs. With the pieces the Bills have on offense I would say that is a good unit. So a train of thought is put more resources on defense and make that side good too. I would rather put enough resources to make the Defense above or about average and make the offense great.
  7. If they draft a cb to convert to safety in rd1 I would throw up.
  8. Oh no a guy that eats vs man and can get open under 10 yards.
  9. Not this class. 2 rbs went top 5 and had productive years last year. This year you might not see one drafted til the 3rd rd. There is not a safety worth drafting at 28, and I would argue 60, worth drafting this year. BPA at 28 will be Thomas Jr or either Texas wr, either Robinson at edge, Murphy or Newton at DT, and Jackson Powers at C or Guard. Those are the guys in the running imo.
  10. Comes down to who would trade and how high do they pick. Do you make that move for Brian Thomas Jr? I dont. Nabers or Harrison sure but why would the team trade that. Diggs is a great player. Keep him and get better.
  11. Day 3 guys are half the price and on the roster for 4 years. Going the merc route is fine but you are in the same place the following year. This year Buffalo should be players with UFA’s aswell. Less packed 53 so more chances for guys to make the roster.
  12. With the Vikings positioning to move up Charger could be in a position to get Marvin Harrison. No way NE doesnt draft a Qb. Arizona has holes everywhere and could benefit greatly from moving back.
  13. 100%. I dont see them going to too small. Do they go slot/ box or more deep saftey style. Time will tell.
  14. Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State - LA Chargers Rome Odunze, Washington - Ari Cardinals Ladd McConkey, Georgia - Ne Patriots Brian Thomas Jr., LSU - Jacksonville Jaguars Xavier Worthy, Texas - Buffalo Bills
  15. Curious what figure they have him at. Obviously, the number isnt what he wants. Rather go younger and bit less expensive than playing the waiting game.
  16. Center/Guard is a need. Lost 2 guys that dressed. I think you can get a guy with some juice at RB that would push Johnson. Im not overly impressed with the depth anywhere. Drafting a TE or linebacker and having to cut Morris or Spector helps improve the roster. Later in the draft you go wider odds of hitting. If you need 5 guys you best use 9 -11 picks and find those 5.
  17. Seems like a visit for a guy to circle back to after the draft and Comp pick calculations.
  18. 6th is late but I could see them picking one outside of the top 60. With Samuel would Baker or Rice fill the need of a “X”. Its possible they go that route. D line and interior O line with the first 2 picks.
  19. I like Hardy. I think he was vastly under utilized at PSU. Can be a primary backup at multiple positions. Javon Baker is getting buzz but I think he will still be available into the 4th rd. I could see Buffalo going Dline and Oline with the first 2 picks and get Baker, Rice or Thrash at this pick. Im intrigued by the crop of safeties. Logan Jr, Hicks, Oledipo, Mastafa. I think Buffalo will pick one in the day 3 maybe multiple.
  20. Put more RPMs into the offense. I think McDermott can Mcgyver a young defense into a top 15 unit. The demise and window closing is over stated. Buffalo was getting old and slow. They saved a bunch of money and will be injecting youth and athleticism into the secondary.
  21. The signing of Samuel makes the top of the draft wide open. An argument could be had that they might be better getting top interior Dlineman or top five edge at 28. The difference between the 5th and 12 wr is not that wide. Im curious how Beane plays it and what guys he values.
  22. They can do a similar level of Samuel signing on defense. I think they go Safety.
  23. I wouldnt go up more than a few spots. Roster is too thin to trade up too high. Need probably 9 of the 11 picks minimum.
  24. He trends throughout the offseason to help/enhance his endorsements. They shipped out Watkins and Dareus in 1.3 seconds. If McBeane felt Diggs was not committed he wouldn't be here.
  25. Metcalf had a megatron type RAS. He is not the same. For every Thomas, Rice and Boldin there are 100 Brandon Lafell, USC Mike Williams, Treadwell, Blackmon busts. Besides Rice, who came out in the 80’s, that is why the other guys went rd 2.
