  1. McDermott is a supremely under rated coach. I would swap him for Kyle Shannahan. Him paired with Allen is guaranteed a Superbowl. Outside of that I stick with Sean. How Stefanski is considered a better coach boggles my mind.
  2. Don't waste it…. Big hole, blocked up Cook scores. I don't have the same faith in Johnson and Davis. Finding backs capable of doing so is easier said than done. That is what the never Rb crowd wont admit. Very? Singeltary and Moss are not close to the player Cook is. I like Davis in tandem with Cook but would not want him as the lead back.
  3. Top UDFA’s get fully guaranteed.
  4. 1 and 2 are a product of modern NFL. Ty Johnson becoming Kevin Faulk is also a pleasant surprise. The current third down talk is similar to the goal line and short yardage of prior years. When given the opportunity he thrived. Cook is good out of the backfield and able to play out wide in formation. The good oline is why having a player of Cooks ability is important. Get 50 yards a touch down. Same hole with Johnson and Davis is first and 10 from the 22. Thats the difference and aspect lost in the rinse and repeat. If they dont resign him a day 2 pick will be used to replace him. One costs a bit more money but opens up an asset that enables another premium position to be improved with cost control.
  5. Cam was also more mechanical over the top. Allen is much more rotational. Farve, Rodgers, Marino and Elway kept their arms through out. Cam style added with the shoulder surgeries diminished the path and power he could consistently generate. Allen taken better of himself feb-Aug and limiting his physical runs is how he extends his career. Another reason why paying Cook isnt a bad idea. The contract brings expectations and game plan involvement. More Cook runs less Allen power.
  6. He asked him to commit full time to basketball. Coleman picked football. That was the point. Izzo saw the talent and had Coleman make the choice to concentrate on football or basketball. Mo Allie Cox played basketball at VCU not football. UDFA without football experience.
  7. Im curious what active player in the NFL was a two sport athlete in college. Football and basketball. Im going to guess 0. Sure you have the gates, Gonzalez and some other college basketball players switch to football post college. In today’s day and age with specialization most are concentrating on one sport by junior year in high school. Not the 80’s and 90’s 2 scholarship athletes are rare. At 19 Coleman was not better than his teammates who practiced and trained for basketball year round. Or not better to justify playing over guys committed to the team. Coming on the team mid season as a freshman working himself into basketball shape vs football shape wasnt going to lend himself to being in the rotation. Especially, an old school coach like Izzo. He wasnt going to achieve at either sport because he was limiting his growth by not giving his all to either. Using his freshman playing time as a reason his ability is less isnt telling the whole story there.
  8. In a vacuum his production could be close to replicated. I think his explosive plays and his athletic ability is underrated. With his style of running its so smooth he looks slow. The explosive run getting 30-40-50+ instead of 20-25 is what you are giving up. They both count as explosives runs but one limits the defense in ways the other does not. That is what in my opinion warrants a Rb getting paid. You can rinse and repeat 4 yards a carry 1,000 yards. Having a guy who can take it 50 plus at any time is a different animal. I think that element Cook brings is the hardest to find and replicate consistently.
  9. You would have to take Tom Izzo’s word for it. Pre draft he did an interview and said he thought Keon had the potential to be a pro basketball player. After his freshman season he made Keon make a choice football or basketball. Coleman picked football. Now could Izzo have swayed him to focus on football we would never know. Overall, Keon is one of the last and few 2 sport athletes. Rarely do you see double scholarship players. His game is real. The level he could have reached will always be an unknown. His game is better just about anybody you will ever meet.
  10. Use him like Deebo and Boldin and he will be very good. Both great after the catch. Get creative to get him the ball and use him more in the slot.
  11. Morrow has been a career 3rd or 4th baker his entire career. Thompson has been pro bowl approaching All pro level much of his career. As depth and veteran voice in the room I like it. Again different style of player and a guy Williams could benefit from.
  12. This is why I would find a way to make a deal work with him. Soft spoken, team guy. Showed up to Minicamp. Will show up to training camp. Agents, media all think he should hold out.
  13. Low risk depth. Maybe can be a voice in Dorian Williams ear. Different type of player from Benard and Milano. Thompson would be what you would want Williams to become.
  14. Fred Jackson and Kyle Williams are all time Bills from the Draught Era. Dawkins now is the unheralded. Dude spear headed and got an Oline award added to NFL honors. Current Bills not named Allen, Dawkins is the best and most consistent.
  15. We laugh now. I have faith in the Browns or Jets to do the unthinkable. And surrender a 1 point safety.
  16. Agree with Hancock. He is roster lock. Last season Hamlin, Bishop, Rapp Edwards, and Lewis were on the intial 53. With Benford, Douglas, Johnson, Elam and Ingram I think there are more spots than you think. CB Benford, Hairston, White, Johnson and open could be Hancock or Hardy, Jackson, Ingram and Strong. S Rapp, Bishop and 3 spots could be Hancock depends what position he plays through camp preseason. If he takes Lewis that still leave 2 open spots. For Hamlin, Forest, Lewis, and possibly Owens. I get the numbers change each year but on a team that didn't have much roster turn over Safety and depth at Safety is the only real open competition on the roster. If a UDFA makes the roster its the likely only spot possible unless they find a return man.
  17. I think you can have one of Ingram, Lewis and Hamlin. All three is an issue.
  18. It would explain a-lot. Some havent suffered through the drought and it shows. Some still act like we are. All we wanted was a team that every year was on a short list of favorites to win the Superbowl with a franchise Qb. Allen is the best watch in the league qb wise. Buffalo is entertaining in the best and worst ways. Only thing left is raising the lombo .
  19. I think that is what opens the door. No one has taken control of either spot. Rapp and Bishop are on the roster and Hancock is likely a utility Db. Thats its. I felt one of the biggest glaring issues with the team was the athleticism of the secondary. Owens brings that. Would have to wow on teams. His ability lend itself to the type of guys that do that. Talking 53rd guy who would be active game days. I dont think he is a lock but certainly a guy to monitor.
  20. I think a more multiple coverage secondary with more 2 high safeties. I expect alot of Dorian Williams early and often. Early down 4-3 fooled Baltimore early on in the playoffs third down defense was terrible.
  21. The covid offseason imo greatly impacted Epenesa. Imo went to too far and lost strength. Took a year plus to bring that back. But to a lesser extend the training was for speed imo. Everyone came in got leaner it felt. Everyone is different. Some guys need to fill out. Some need to redistribute the weight. Some need to get a bit leaner. Felt like everyone was on similar trajectories the last few years as a training staff.
  22. Because he was schemed around. You cant be in the conversation for Probowl when you are playing 50% of the defensive snaps. He was taking out so his limitations wouldn't be magnified. Dolphins struggled vs the TE position even in the wins during that stretch. This is where analytics and real life clash. He is a back up/ 2 down linebacker in the NFL.
  23. I disagree using PFF as a single measure. Dodson being schemed around and having a less effective defense doesn't make him a better player. He is a limited athlete that gets more neutral grades than negative ones due to not being in a position to make a play. By not being in position to make the tackle or stop the pass he isnt graded on it . Bernard will have a lower tackle|stop %. Because he is traveling further to make the plays. The fumble vs the Ravens is likley a negative because Andrews made the catch. Mind you Bernard had the entire middle and was on an island with Andrews. Came up made the play and strip in a position Dodson would never be put in or able to make. No one can watch the Bills in 23 and 24 and say with a straight face Dodson is a better linebacker. Not one. Shoot PFF linebaker and interior line analytics in the sun. The plays Bernard misses Dodson would not be in position to make. The plays Bernard does make Dodson doesnt…
  24. I think you gotta show up. Want to play hard show up and show your work. But we all know Diggs is loving the attention and gossip with Cardi B. Bills should have jumped off the train right then. In the interview Mcdermott did with Sal he brought up someone told him he is ok with 2nd place. No doubt in my mind that was Diggs.
