Cooper says he plans to play Sunday with a cast!
Mat68 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I completely disagree. Cooper is the better route runner and outside WR. Wrist injury is disappointing but I expect a large impact on the offense down the stretch. -
Close, close game. I think the backs and style of offense match up vs KC. Buffalo does just enough 24-19. Field goal late seals it.

Alot. It will be a lot. He has earned it.

I want Allen to make that throw 10/10 times. Maybe not in 23 but I have seen him make the that throw multiple times in varying distances give or take 20 yards. Kumerow, Davis, heck this year Hollins have caught touchdowns on similar routes and calls. It was as open as Diggs. Diggs drops it Allen is an idiot for missing the open guy in the end zone?

High redzone skinny post is one of Allens favorite throws. When it’s there he rips it. I don't buy into any argument against it. An abstract theory on game management or fan fiction on what happens when he throws it to Diggs? Maybe Diggs just drops it. Like he did earlier that drive and multiple times in that stretch of the season. The pass wasn't a 50/50 fade or deep shot on 3rd down. He has thrown multiple touchdowns on that pass. If not for Chris Jones he would have again. It is not Madden. You cant assume you can score with 1 sec left. Gotta take the chances as they come. Vs Miami I haven't seen the all 22 to see the touchdowns Allen passed up on. And if on film that was the case he wont be high fiving, he will be pissed that he missed them. The offense moved the ball very well. 2 touchdowns taken off the board in the first half made that game closer than it should have been.

Interesting roster spot. Wr, S, or Edge. Wr imo it is Virgil, maybe Hamler. S it is Jackson or Cine maybe Hyde? Edge Jonathan, Cline maybe Ngankue?

That is him. With a good run game and arm he will throw it deep. Thats really it. You sell out to stop the run he will make you pay.

Brian Baldinger (#BaldysBreakdowns) of Bills offense play structure
Mat68 replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
Glad to see the Sean Payton offensive philosophy play out. Scheme easy throws. Give josh 15 plus easy throws a game. Shallow crossers, screens flares to the back. Ask him to be the best Qb on the planet once or twice a game. Ask him to drop back and beat the defense on a 5 to 7 step drop less than 5 times a game. Make his job as easy as possible and he will be hard to stop. Joe Brady has done this for the most part. This is where Dorsey and even Daboll came up short imo. -
Bills signing Quinton Jefferson; Update..AND Jordan Phillips
Mat68 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right. Another second day pick and mid level FA at DT in the offseason. Not finding long term answers at DT in Nov. Jefferson and Phillips fill in behind Jones and Johnson. Allows them to play a bit less and use more bodies. With them being older should keep them fresh. -
He was penciled in as starter. Beane I believed said somewhere he envisioned him starting. Maybe Mcdermott. Either way Hamlin got every snap in the spring and Summer. Come week 1 too short a runway. Hamlin hasn’t slipped up all year and has been consistent as player. Imo Hamlin has earned the spot. It is not peewee football. It is pro football. Edwards is paid as a reserve spot starter. Due to availability he was passed on the depth chart. Hamlin has more equity with the franchise and his play hasnt warranted benching. Edwards feeling a way about it is crazy to me and probably is why he bounced around a bit.

Carter is the long term answer. -

Doing a pick swap with 2 teams for dline help would have been viewed as Beane and Buffalo going for it. Similar moves but didn't require capital. Overall, think it was good business. -

Hard to argue with the 2 moves. Both know the defense. Buffalo needed Dline help. Jefferson used in the Smoot role makes sense to me. Phillips offers ok depth. No picks needed to do it. -
You have Allen at qb to make that read and throw 10/10 times. Like a bass Fg stops Mahomes? Gotta make him score a Td. As the game showed, have to score when provided the chance because it may not come later. I am content losing with the ball in Allen’s hand every time. Including the Houston game. Offense played like poo. Overtime wouldn't change that. If there is time left and the game is in the balance give Allen a chance at pulling it out.

Quinton Jefferson over Phillips? Haven’t followed much of either. Seemed like Jefferson flashed a little with Cleveland when I watched them. -
They were all second and third wave FA. They were all beat out by players already on the roster or drafted in April. That is Beane’s mo. He hedges the biggest needs with rookies/young players with vets with starting experience. Biggest miss is Samuel. I think the lower leg injury/injuries have impacted him.

Missed TC time due to injury. Missed some games as well. If he isnt the motion player and matchup player in the offense he wont have a consistent role. Coleman, Cooper, Hollins are outside and Shakir is the slot. Early down runs are working so more 12 and 13 sets are working which he isn't a part of. Thats really it. Some of his chances he hasn't been able to take advantage of. Samuel is as a good a wr 4 or 5 in the league. If he can get closer to 100% he will be a factor down the stretch.

Does Jefferson have the juice left to play that role? He has always been a tweaner. Getting Carter back will be a big boost. -
Johnson is the only reason I would consider playing nickel against them. He would have held up at the point of attack better than Lewis or Ingram 1000%. Different game plan and different reasons for the rushing success looking at Baltimore and Miami. Miami had more room because the secondary for the most part was back. Miami attacked more up the middle than outside a bit of a tendency breaker imo. The issue vs Baltimore were run fits. Slot corner got abused.
-
Id argue KC and Baltimore do not have Hill and Waddle. Not having Johnson hurt vs Baltimore. Against Kc I think they match up pretty good. The last 3 meetings against them show that. The linebackers and safeties were decimated in the playoff. That is the heart of KC’s passing attack. Healthy I like Buffalo’s chances. They struggled in the redzone Sunday. This year they have been pretty good. Seattle and NYJ redzone defense won those games.

He killed us a few years back. Indy isn't the threat Baltimore with Lamar or Miami with Hill and Waddle were. This is a game Buffalo must snuff out the run, similar to Seattle.
