Imo Douglas comes back if Buffalo doesnt draft a cb early. He is waiting to see how it goes. Insurance for Buffalo to avoid another Elam pick.
-
That tells a different story than your conclusion. What is your concern with him playing outside? What makes you feel he cant succeed outside in the NFL?
-
Watson was in a more run first offense that explained his production. Only thing that has slowed him in the NFL have been injuries. Tenn and Oregon are both passing offenses. Seems more like Justin Shorter. Blue chip high school recruit, good off the field, that was unable to be productive. Late day 3 imo. Watson was an early second rd pick and way more productive.

Bills halt contract negotiations with Cook
Mat68 replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Beane is reasonable. Comes down to what Cook and his agent have to have. Imo come TC Cook takes a deal like Benford and Rousseau. In the 12-13 range. Beane wont lock the door. A knock and a little give they make it happen. A top 10 back is worth paying at the moment. It’s an under paid position. Cook has been a better rb than Shakir has been a Wr and Rousseau has been a DE. -
With Coleman and Palmer they do not have a need for a full time outside WR. Imo they need a guy interchangeable with Shakir. I think Shakir will be the move around piece in the offense when not in the slot in motion. Noel can do jet motion gadget stuff. Smoke screens, pure slot with a real vertical ability. Im not saying he is 100% outside but he is functional. He is a bigger, faster, more explosive Zay Flowers with the same arm length. Buffalo needs a guy who can win deep. Who cares if it’s from a stack or slot? Noel would be the most explosive wr Allen has ever had. If he was 2 inch taller 2 inch longer he is a top 10 wr.

Held at the footsteps of the new stadium.
-
I think Shakir will be the Z. More so the motion wr. Diggs was mainly that as well. I think player groupings will be dictated by matchup and game script. I can see any of the three Coleman, Palmer and Shakir on the field in 2 wr situations. I think Shakir will be the focal point of the passing game. Coleman, Palmer and Samuel fitting in around him. Samuel and Coleman both pair well off of Shakir moving around.
-
As a full time X you’re right. As a Z and slot he will fine. Imo he fills a hole at deep threat. Also, offers way more everywhere else.
-
I dont agree. His speed and explosiveness allows him to play outside. Buffalo needs deep speed. Having a complete route tree with the ability to play slot is a plus. Shakir and him almost interchangeable at z and slot.
-
Jaylin Noel this is guy I want.
-
Jaylen Noel is a superior WR to Bond with the same speed. Im 100% planting my flag. Thats the guy I want. Speed to play outside, quickness and route running to play slot. Thats the guy.
-
I think Gabe was a different player after his lower body injuries. More of a lumbering runner now. Palmer offers similar big play ability that Gabe offered with better route running to greater impact the short and intermediate. I think Palmers style is closer to Emmanuel Sanders but in his prime. Sanders didnt breakout until year 5 going from Pittsburgh to Denver. I could see Palmer doing the same thing. Coleman is better suited as a big slot. What Hollins played last season but potential for more after the catch. Coleman and Palmer can function in the same offense and play on the field at the same time.
-
I think Cook is more special than being given credit for. Im Beane I still work with both Benford and Cook through out the post season. I would shelve both until after the draft. And after that start of camp if nothing can come to fruition. Buffalo holds the cards but also wants to draft develop and retain.

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)

Havent been to game in quite a few years since moving out of the area. I will be at the first game in the new stadium. -
Early on behind Allen, and Williams. Last season under Harbaugh and Greg Roman they were run heavy. Im not overly impressed with Herbert on a down for down basis. You pay a little for potential. With more use maybe Palmer is more productive. At minimum, Palmer is an upgrade over Cooper last season. Offers more as a blocker. With Buffalos ability to run, having capable receivers that don't have to subbed makes them less predictable. Palmer is making low end wr 2 money. Pretty on par to slightly less than what he was projected.
-
Coleman will play the role Hollins did. A big slot that will line up at X or Z in heavy formations. Coleman offers more after the catch than Hollins. Analytically, Palmer succeeds where Buffalo wr lacked last season. Outside vs man. 3 plus wide, passing down Palmer at the X does his best. Palmer fills a need, fits with the wrs on the roster.

Has Cook talked himself OFF the Bills for 2025
Mat68 replied to DeepPass's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s 5 mil less than Barkley and Mccaffery per year. Besides Diggs the other investment to the offense since have not work out but Cook. The offense was at its best when he was running successfully. Maintaining that and sprinkling in more early down PA makes the offense that much better. The league is trending towards a more run first style of offense. The Duo run game is dynamic with Cook carrying the ball. They can afford it. Do it. Cap wise it’s less expensive to do it now. -
Ty Johnson is the modern day Fred Jackson
Mat68 replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Johnson is a very good third down back. Good in pass pro, good hands, good speed to beat backers to the edge. He does not have the vision, contact balance, lateral quickness or speed of Cook. The amount of disrespect Cook is receiving from the fan base is wild. After Allen, Cook was easily the best player on offense. -
Harbaugh is building the line first. Llad McConkey is there top pass option and the offense is going to be run first. No need to pay a wr when they are going to play 12, 22, and 13.

Dawkins is a top 5 OT. Brown top 10. Groot ascending to top 10. Benford top 10 CB ascending to top 5. Thats pretty good. Not many are much better than that. Buffalos talent is under rated. The AFC championship wasnt an accident. -
1 year 6 mil with another 6 incentives. Knows the offense has ability to play z and slot. Pursue another pay day in 26 and a SB now. Could do a-lot worst. I think fans took stuff more serious than the players.
-
Still young. Has very good metric. Paired with another good edge I think he makes a big leap. Von was good but either got pressure or gave the qb an easy escape from the pocket. I think with Bosa Groot will be more productive.

Vick rushed for nearly 1,000 yards in the early 2000’s. The melding of the pocket and scrambler is what is rare.
