  1. Look at the last 8 weeks. The team and offense went on a run when they made him less a focal point of the offense. He will benefit the AFC and playing in a dome. He will produce but at 31 and a big cap number its time to pull the plug if he is not committed.
  2. He wasnt the decision maker in Carolina. Buffalo went all in and kept the 13 sec team together. That was the closest they ever got. Gotta rebuild. Cap space and draft capital in the future to reshape the roster was generated this year by cleaning out the aging core.
  3. In terms of value a future 2nd is less the ideal for a top 5 wr. Curious how Chris Simms spins this. Multiple times down the stretch last year he stated that defenses were not going out of their way to take away Diggs. At most they might bracket him with a body and alignment but not truly doubling him. A 30 year old plus wr traded for a day 2 pick is about top of market. On paper its a loss we will see if on the field and standing if it will be. Compensation is about right. Truly and end of an Era for Bills football. Does not mean the team going forward cant meet new heights.
  4. He was. This year was the first time where those situations flipped. Combination of relationship and maybe possibly projected decline.
  5. I agree. Allen is/was not the get in your face and lead type. Maybe that was because he was sort of speak Diggs little big brother. That relationship was not one where Allen was an authority. Maybe by removing the older vets it pushes Allen to being a leader. By not having history with those around him it wont feel forced or out of place. Again this was not a 21 Sundays of the year move. This was the other 344 days of the year move.
  6. The guy disappeared the last 3 years in the playoffs. Him not being on offense on paper makes the offense worst. This isnt paper its humans. The subtraction of Diggs for the 24 Bills will be interesting to see.
  7. A 2nd for a 30 year old wr is above market. Heck Amari Cooper was traded for a 4th and was younger. I think the Bills were at the point to just move on. Have guys that want to be here and play with Josh. Take the medicine and move on. Having Diggs wont make Buffalo more or less likely to win it all.
  8. With the Diggs news 28 is best available Wr?
  9. Idk what happened or when but Josh and Diggs seamed off. Allen’s play the last few years has been better throwing to the open guy instead of force feeding Diggs. Wish him the best he was a great player for us.
  10. If Vaki is there at 200 I take him every time. I have gone every which way at 28. Im the most happy with Worthy at 28. After the top 3 wrs and Thomas Jr I think Worthy was the most consistent producer in college over his career. His speed allows him to line up anywhere including X. I really like how he will stress defenses. Also, I think he pairs well with a double dip in the 4th. Rice, Baker or Thrash imo will be available they have the body type lost by Davis but smooth operators in the intermediate.
  11. Carolina Jacksonville Cleveland
  12. Kryptonite has been getting bodied by man coverage. Outside of Diggs who can get open? Down the stretch Shakir and Kincaid stepped up and showed they could. Coleman is not larger than Davis. I think Davis is a little more explosive. Imo size is a cherry on top of everything else they do. Can they seperate, can they stretch a defense vertically. If size is the answer to either lets look for something better.
  13. Hyde was a mid rd pick. I understand what Hyde became. That was after playing multiple positions in the NFL. If you draft Copper rd 1 you are doing it thinking he can play Corner not to move him and play Saftey. If he is not quick enough to play corner you are assuming he has elite awareness to anticipate from a new perspective and position. The negatives as to why you are moving him only creates more questions for what he will be able to do at safety. I get a college slot transitioning to a pro safety. A player that has only played out wide is not a smooth transition to safety. Rd 1 is too rich. Beane and Mcdermott both stated instincts and awareness are more important than testing numbers. There is no telling what his awareness level is while looking at the whole picture instead of his own window.
  14. Its not though. In a weak class why draft for a need? Desean is a corner. Who knows how long or ever he learns the position to take over Edwards or Rapp.
  15. So is he a Saftey not Cb because he is white? So you are drafting a player at 28 to play a position he has never played before?
  16. I disagree. Each position needs a standard or floor of play. For a rookie who has never played in the NFL you have a wide variance of outcomes. In Johnson and Williams case you have an expectation of how they will perform in Buffalos scheme. Im sure there is optimism that this system will allow them to produce more than they have showed in the past. Both coming from 2 gap schemes and playing out to the offensive tackle. If the draft comes around and they take a DT the level of play will have to match or surpass that level. Drafting to replace holes was what the former regimes did in Buffalo. The roster never improves that way because every player wont work out.
  17. I think you could see a day 3 pick on a player with Return ability whether that is Rb or Wr.
  18. I could see any round. I think Rd 2 is more likley. They will be aggressive to get the WR or DE they covet. I expect they go WR and DE first two picks. Not sure in what order.
  19. Wr rd 1. Trade up for De rd 2. I think Trice, Baswell, or Kneeland will be drafted by Buffalo. Can play 3 downs instantly and be part of the rotation. They can wait a little for 3tech and secondary depth.
  20. Historically, Leggette is not the type of prospect Beane drafts in rd 1. Majority of the successful first rd wrs are juniors. I dont hate the player but something to consider. Allen seemed to like him when he brought his name up.
  21. Latu may not be on Buffalos board due to his medicals. Thomas Jr athletic profile and age matches Beanes first rd picks. Leggette would be a complete outlier from their first rd picks.
  22. I think you can double dip later in the draft. Rice, Baker or Thrash who have some size and can line up anywhere. If they go for say Mitchell I would look at one of the smaller guys in that same range.
  23. I wouldnt like it but I would respect it.
  24. I take the opposite body type the top of day 3. If you go smaller early I would look at Baker, Thrash, Rice if they still available. You went bigger body early I would look for Malik Washington, Crowing, Tahj Washington. I think early than later is more likley. Or back to back if they waited on Wr. The guys drafted before Jefferson that busted is also a consideration. I would expect Beane was shocked Jefferson was still there. Either way Beane took a sure thing that has been top 5 across the board since arriving.
