  1. A smart organization knows you need a great QB to build a winning franchise. Sure you can make a run here and there, get into the playoffs sometimes and maybe, just maybe once in a blue moon win it all with a guy like Glennon or Bridgewater. But to win year in and year out requires one main ingredient, a franchise QB. A smart organization leaves no stone unturned, does not rule anything out when it comes to finding that franchise QB. I don't think the QB's are just a crap shoot this year either, sure there is no "Andrew Luck" but there seem to be 4 confirmed high end prospects. You can have whatever DL, CB and LB you want, it wont affect wins and losses much. A franchise QB on the other hand can directly contribute a lot to winning. Just look at he Packers last year when Rodgers went out or SF when they started Garapplolo
  2. I dont like the idea of next years first being part of a trade up. That pick could end up being quite high if they start a rookie QB. Also, if the rookie plays really bad you could use that high pick on another QB.I would rather opt for a 2 this year and next year and 21,22. Also consider player compensation if possible.
  3. I’m all for the bills trading up but I hope they keep their first rounder for next year. If they crap the bed it could be a good pick for another qb if they swing and miss.
  4. I think they are planning to trade up if it works out for them but I dont think these signings are necessarily just for that. I think it definitely shows the desire to get some comp picks. But more than anything this team has very few players under contract and tons of FA' so they need bodies. Signing guys to short contracts is beneficial in a bunch of ways....it allows you to be more likely to get comp picks since you will have a lot of FA's. Guys on one year contracts play better because they are going for a big contract, they are hungry and motivated. You dont kill your cap with big signing bonuses you owe to players who stop playing as hard after they get a pile of money....
  5. You have to consider the big contract and recent injury history along with the talent. If he is healthy they are better off keeping him because he is a good player. He does not seem like a locker room problem type.
  6. Bears at #5...ouch. Must be nice to be the Pats and be at #15....ridiculous
  7. I have never really watched him play but compare his stats to Tyrod......its like the same....I dont get "the intrigue". He has not played in 2 years which also makes him somewhat risky.
  8. He is afraid he might grab his package when he gets selected?
  9. They should be able to trade out of their second pick and get a lot for it.
  10. I cannot support getting a RB high in the first round...they would have to be high to do that.
  11. Gotta win more when we tie the turnover differential. The fact the Bills lose most of those points to lesser talent they have.
  12. The cap situation is OK this offseason and fantastic for next year assuming they dont give away a lot of big contracts this year which I dont see them doing.
  13. This is what I was going to say, not sure why everyone was wrong.
  14. I thought the request was last season......but if it was 2016 I agree with you.
  15. They wanted to trade for him last year. They did get Ajayi but Blount is a FA.
  16. Agree, but I dont think it matters how you choose the years, if you get to a per game average Gronk is significantly ahead.
  17. Gates averages 767 yards and 7.6 TD's per year, 52 yards and 0.52 TD's per game Gronk averages 897 yards and 9.5 TD's per year. 70 yards and 0.75 TD's per game.
  18. Comparing a TE today to one from the seventies is hard to do, the game and that position has changed quite a bit. He definitely has durability issues. But all I am saying is if you were to look at production per game or production per year even (which would hit him for his durability) I think you will see his yards and TD's per game/season is at the top of the list. To me he is the hardest TE to cover I have ever seen. He catches balls and scores TD's when he is completely covered, he just boxes them out with that enormous torso.
  19. This just sounds like you dont like him to me. Break it down per game and show us how yards and TD's are in Olsen and Vernon Davis and Graham territory. If he quits now it affects him but people can and will still consider him among the best ever. Just like Jim Brown who quit early. People do remember how dominant you are during the time you did play. Terrell Davis is in the HOF and he had maybe 4 good years. For example Vernon Davis has played 13 years vs 8 for Gronk, Grong has like 20% more TD's while playing half the games yet you consider that "in the same territory" Gronk's per catch average is historical.
  20. No guarantees with a high draft pick. The drought is over!
  21. How could they not be spoiled though. 7 straight AFC Championship games and after coming back against the Jags and last years Super Bowl......12 AFC championship games and 8 SB's since 2001. I would never have believed that was possible if it was not true.
