  1. While I do agree BB wont be going to another team, I disagree no one will give him control, why would they not? Some teams would not, like the Cowboys, but there would be teams that would give him total control. Kraft may have overuled him that one time, other than that it has been the BB show for like 20 years.
  2. I live in NE and basically that is what everyone wants to know. A couple rumors I heard....he was really emotional about something and he was sick. But he was asked after the game and he said the Pats gave up on him. He played over 90% of plays all years, this was pretty odd.
  3. It is really odd when sports teams win, the fans start fires.....I dont get it.
  4. You are right. It does tell you if your team has a lot of commitments over the coming years or not. And since the Bills do not, it tells me there will be a lot of new younger talent in the coming years vs a team that has more players under contract already. I am becoming a believer in having young hungry players over super high priced vets who lose a little motivation and start to think more about the long term affects the game has on their bodies. This regime has cleared the way for themselves to form the team they want.
  5. After reading a few times that the Bills don't have the cap space for Cousins I took a look at overthecap.com and they project the cap out 3 years for all teams. I am no capologist and would appreciate people who are to weigh in on this. This shows what contracts on are the books through 2020 and projected cap space in each year. This is not a perfect way to look at things because no team even has 51 players listed and the cap will go up each year but I think it is a better indicator of cap space than just looking at this coming offseason because it shows your commitments over the next three years. Your ability to manipulate the cap either means cutting or trading players and taking a dead cap hit or "restructuring" which generally means trading future cap space to free up cap this year. The structure of the existing contracts also matters to manipulate the cap and that is not really addressed here. What this shows is that the Bills have the 7th most cap space when you look at a three year window and to me that means the teams ability to sign a guy like Cousins is totally realistic because they have flexibility on how to structure it. Now I know the Bills just may not be interested in signing him but it is absolutely something they could do if they chose. Of the teams with more cap space in the next three years only the Jets and Browns are known to be in the QB market. The Broncos will strap themselves pretty bad with a giant contract. I have not looked closely but I bet there is a chance they could be in a Saints like cap situation if they do it. Team 3 year cap space 49ers $381,497,878.00 Jets $361,711,492.00 Browns $337,167,846.00 Buccaneers $319,868,694.00 Titans $307,734,376.00 Colts $303,334,586.00 Bills $294,188,277.00 Texans $288,512,863.00 Bears $288,022,450.00 Rams $285,406,125.00 Bengals $266,161,073.00 Vikings $244,249,638.00 Cardinals $242,759,695.00 Redskins $240,904,062.00 Saints $240,675,999.00 Seahawks $235,370,413.00 Lions $233,523,610.00 Cowboys $231,094,753.00 Raiders $222,458,861.00 Packers $220,371,112.00 Falcons $217,728,730.00 Giants $217,159,650.00 Broncos $216,715,634.00 Patriots $216,429,190.00 Chargers $215,569,928.00 Panthers $190,744,416.00 Steelers $185,103,763.00 Ravens $183,649,329.00 Chiefs $183,535,343.00 Dolphins $171,022,443.00 Jaguars $121,918,172.00 Eagles $71,137,056.00
  6. Because staying with the bills with the cut could be the best financial position for him. Otherwise he gets cut. Same reason as last time
  7. I guess what Blank is not able to comprehend is that it was not done to throw it in the face of the Falcons, rather to celebrate something the Pats did. Sour grapes by Blank....just keep your mouth shut
  8. I don't really disagree with you in terms of valuing Cordy Glenn, I like him. But one can argue that in the past he did his job, the last two years he has not been available and that is a problem. This new regime seems to stress availability and the seem to want to purge any high priced guy on the roster. There have been many rumors, enough that there is very likely something to it. I would like to see Dawkins at RT with a healthy Glenn but something tells me he gets moved.
  9. I would not support restructuring Clay, Glenn, McCoy for various reasons and I don't think that will happen. Hughes is a restructure candidate to me. The team seems to want to get away from Glenn and if you just let Clay play on the 9 million dollar number you will be out from under his deal. Clay's knees are a concern, you could waive him in 2019 and save 4.5 million. I really dont think you want to make the relationship longer at this point. McCoy could be reworked but I would rather just let him play it out and see where he is at. I also dont think we have to spend ridiculous money for next year, the holes will not all get filled this off season. A rookie QB will take time to develop so you really want an infusion of talent as your QB is developing. take your medicine in 2018 and the cap will be in great shape moving forward.
  10. You will probably find things out about him you did not previously know....fun stuff
  11. No their really is no chance of that. Maybe two or three of those guys could not be on the roster. The cap this year is OK and it gets great next year so the cap is not a huge deal. I think it is more important to continue the culture of winning or "playoff caliber" or whatever you want to call it. I could see them moving Glenn, extending Incognito, releasing Taylor and maybe one or two of the other guys. Guys like Hughes and McCoy will stay on the roster.
  12. I have complained a lot about them....as an out of towner I would listen after games until this last season I listed more than that. What I learned is the worst time to listen to these guys is after a game. Schopp can be a big downer, even after a win. He treats the callers like dog crap. Admittedly some of the callers are pretty bad. I really think these guys are beaten down by the drought, long period of nothingness. When the Bills made the playoffs they kind of changed their tone and it got better. I also live in the Boston market and agree with PromoTheRobot in that the radio shows in Boston are way better. I dont listen often and you can find faults but the overall quality is way better.
  13. I trust the coaches opinion and will just let them play it out. His performance was really bad for my eyes and I personally don't hold out hope for him but I am just a random fan. If he was waived I would lose 0 sleep.
  14. Denver is a good situation for a QB to go to. Hard to blame Cousins. Elway has proven to be good at filling the roster with talent and they have good WR's. I think Elway has had enough of Talib and his chain stealing show so this would make sense to me.
  15. The more teams that get out of the QB market give the Bills a better chance in the draft I guess. I was hoping for Cousins or Smith (plus a guy in the draft).
  16. The talent has been decimated but the purge and subsequent cap space allows for an infusion of young talent in the years to come. I see this as a positive. I think you will continue to see guys produce on one year deals on the roster. PHD's!
  17. Cousins is gonna get a ridiculous payday which is why I think the Redskins moved on. Three straight years of over 4000 yards, basically a 3:1 total TD:INT ratio. It may be the right thing to do but he is gonna be a cap nightmare for whoever signs him.
  18. In terms of identifying players, getting PHD's (poor, hungry, driven) might outweigh known statistics and measurements.
  19. The price will be based on the market and most importantly how many teams are interested. The price could be reasonable like a 2nd round pick but if there are two/three teams interested the price will get steeper. A lot of teams could be interested in trading for Smith.
  20. Probably because Eli is really inconsistent and can be downright awful at times.
