I agree he was never as good as Allen is this year but it is close stat wise, I dont agree with the "half as good" thing. He was a legit MVP candidate. Anyway the post was mostly sarcasm with a little bit of "this seems to good to be true so it must be".
This is great, without any reason to play and a bye week they should be primed to come out flat and lose in the divisional round opening up the path to the SB to go through Buffalo!
Odds are greatly against him being successful anywhere.......NFL HC is a different job and a lot more can go wrong than have it "go right". I just want him to stay here and am not concerned where he goes if he goes somewhere else.
All that other stuff is less likely than the Chiefs losing their final two. Its done, they are the one seed, they can rest their guys safely if they want. then again, they hardly need to since they get a bye.
Generally teams don’t try to win or lose to get a first round matchup they like. Let the chips fall then kick butt! The worst case to me would have been a matchup vs the pats in the first round and they knock us out. That is not going to happen. Browns ravens colts fish.... bring it
If the game matters for seeding I think they try and win it. If they do not need the game then it is possible. While its great that the Bills have planned to have a Covid QB, the reality is if he has to play he will be very raw.....a little experience would be a good thing
The Dolphins would be 1 because their QB is inexperienced but the WC teams are all dangerous in their own ways so my general feeling is let the chips fall where they fall.
I think its as good as done given the development of Allen and his creative offense. There will be a bunch of opportunities out there. Unlike Bienemy, Daboll runs the show in Buffalo on offense.
There is a big difference in pay for a coordinator vs a head coach (like 1 million vs 6 million on average) and the HC salaries are guaranteed. You are a fool to stay in a one million dollar non guaranteed job and turn down 24 million guaranteed over 4 years for instance. Yeah its not always about the money but when the money is that different, it matters.
I also find it interesting how quickly he went from “ fire him, he sucks, worst play caller ever “ to “how do we keep him”. He did not change , Allen did!
You could try to match whatever contract he gets offered. But you could get out bid and you could end up in a situation where the oc makes more than the hc. It might also depend on his desires. There are going to be a lot of jobs and they will want someone who can work with a young qb. Whether he is or is not responsible for Allen’s development does not really matter. He will reap the rewards.
The one difference between Josh and those he is compared to is that the others have post season success and Super Bowl titles. I am talking Mahomes Wilson and Rodgers. So if that is who Josh is then that is what we can and should expect. I agree we can have the discussion but without the hardware it’s not an easy debate to persuade others outside WNY.
