  1. Ralph was a lot of things, the truth is he was cheap when it came to football when compared to a lot of teams. Some will say that means he was not committed to winning but the truth also is you don't need to spend the most money to win. I heard Marv Levy give advice to Frank Reich and he said something like "Its not a great QB that wins, its not a great defense that wins its not great talent that wins, IT'S TOTAL ORGANIZATION". Ralph was not a football die hard, he was a businessman and ran the Bills to make money first, winning was second. But he left the team to stay in Buffalo and we all need to be thankful towards him him for that.I heard Polian tell a story once when he said they signed one of the greats from the early 90's team that was over the budget Ralph gave him. Ralph was on vacation in France or something but Polian did the contract anyway. When Ralph got back he was furious but nothing really happened other than him having a temper tantrum. So yeah he did not give the team a blank check but I am not sure cheap is the right word to describe him as an NFL owner.Sullivan is not always wrong but I have heard him interview too and he is a total downer. I'm fine with being realistic but the guy is just a miserable human being, not sure why but he chooses negativity over positivism every time.
  2. Having a "bunch of guys" wont win you games, a franchise QB will. Also, They wont have to give that list of picks away
  3. Mayfield is not like Tyrod, that is what we are talking about. Well that is what I am talking about anyway.
  4. With the amount of work he gets he should try and get every dime he can while young, his earning years are short as an RB
  5. He is absolutely not like Tyrod, Mayfield throws on time and in rhythm from the pocket a lot more than his reputation seems to say.
  6. I am pretty sure the draft will go QB QB QB. Hopefully the Bills are that middle team
  7. No player should be wholly judged on one performance but why are you asking me, ask Beane!
  8. I would tend to doubt it....what he shows on film is how he gets paid. Maybe he got emotional and did not really think things through....you never know. He did not make the bad decisions for Peterman, those were on him...and dont start with 3 of them were not his fault at all...they were all his fault except maybe the first one.
  9. The three Q's of running an NFL fooball team are quarterback quarterback quarterback
  10. A **** ton! It is also possible Cleveland and NYG are not selling. And they wont be taking an RB if they are unwilling to sell.
  11. Yep. NFL players get concussions and bad concussions all the time. Trent did not change after that hit....it is a Bills urban legend. Trent was simply limited in his ability to see things down the field, defenses caught on and made him ineffective. It is not unusual for a QB to do well at first and then defenses take away what he likes to do, the QB becomes less effective. At that point, a QB has to evolve, Trent did not.
  12. If it is health it is absolutely not your business. If he gets charged with a crime and it is drug related something could come out. He could choose to share, it may just leak out but you are not entitled to someone mental health record. Marcus Easey missed a lot of time for something that I don't think ever came out...at least not til after it was over.
  13. Not really our business, we may never find out.
  14. Same thing for Chandler Jones. I bet the players know what is not tested for and that is what they take
  15. You have never seen a QB have decent number for 4 games and then fall off? 4 games is about how much time it takes for defenses to figure out how to defend a QB.
  16. Maybe it is an over reaction but there is nothing positive to play that off on. When he got into the playoff game he started making predictable throws and eventually got picked. Now that was a tough position and picks often happen in that game situation but he just seems way too willing to throw the ball to the wrong place. If he is good, he will get another chance.
  17. Yes, he threw 5 picks in 2 quarters....when else has that ever happened?
  18. To me that is one of the biggest Bills myths out there. He was captain checkdown from day one but he was able to have more success earlier on because there was not a lot of tape on him and once teams figured out how to defend by letting him have the checkdowns as easy completions with defenders not far away, he was not able to counterpunch. He missed one game and when he came back he played good agains the Chargers.
  19. In my opinion you will never really fix the catch rule but you can probably improve it. Catching with possession is a spectrum where on the left is an obvious drop and the right an obvious catch. Somewhere in the middle is a line where something is or is not a catch. Recently the line has been closer to the right where they put a lot of the hones on the receiver to catch it really cleanly. They can move the line to the left but no matter where they move it you will find plays that are so close to the line they are subjective. No matter what the change the rule to, there will be plays fans think were blown.
