  1. I get it if you're not excited about breaking a 17 year curse and making the playoffs.... Maybe draft picks are your thing? Oh, we somehow accumulated an extra 1st and 2nd and many late round picks. Or... maybe cap space is your thing? Oh, we unloaded our worst contract and will have a ton of space for next year. Hmm... maybe, losing is your thing?
  2. - Broke a 17 year playoff drought. - Hired a new, young, bright Head Coach and GM. - Acquired an extra 1st round pick, an extra 2nd round pick, an extra 5th round pick, and an extra 6th round pick. - Dumped Marcel Dareus's toxic contract and freed up a ton of cap space by not overpaying for others. - Acquired Kelvin Benjamin and will have him under contract next year. - Seemingly nailed our 1st round rookie pick and possibly others (Dawkins? Milano? Zay?) - Stayed in Buffalo (don't take this for granted). 2018 will bring our first playoff game of the millennium. Where would you rather be than right here, right now?
  3. This is a dumb argument. Packers went from one of the best teams in the league to one of the worst when Rogers got hurt. Colts went from best team in the league to first overall pick when Peyton Manning got hurt. A great QB can win you Super Bowls and playoffs for DECADES. Are there exceptions? Sure. Carr had a bad year and Stanford has never been Elite. Do I want to swing for the fences and hope to lock in the single most important position on the field for decades? Of course I do. If you’re not thinking that way, you are dumb. Period.
  4. If you think the ultimate goal is to win 10 games, then you are the problem.
  5. Seems like a lot of you are missing the point and just want someone to scream at. Nobody is saying going 8-8 is ideal. We all want a top 3 pick. That title and meaning of the post is that it is impressive what our staff has done, given a lack of talent. Listen to some happy music and cheer up, emo kids.
  6. No, I'm not being sarcastic. Last year, we went 7-9. In the off-season and during 2017, we lost: -Our three best wide receivers -Our two best corners -Our pro-bowl DT -Two starting linebackers We gained: -An unheralded FS and SS (Hyde and Poyer) -An unheralded CB (Gaines) -A better kicker (Haushka) -A great WR for one game (Benjamin) and throw-in (Matthews) Most of us thought it would be a 4-12 season. To take that many personnel losses and IMPROVE to 8-8 or 9-7 with a significantly worse roster... To me, that's impressive.
  7. You realize that his defense held Tom Brady to 9 points in the first half... right? You also realize that our defense has like zero good players on it....right? He's a rookie head coach. Rookies make mistakes. By all accounts he has done great things for the team culture and defense in less than one season.
  8. I don't understand why you would want our leaders encouraging 15 yard penalties... If so, I sure hope you never complained about Rex's "bully" team leading the league in penalties and shooting ourselves in the foot on every good drive.
  9. It's crazy that you guys think we would get a draft pick for cutting a player. It's crazier that you think we should cut the one guy that means the most to our locker room. It's craziest to think that if we cut him he will go to a playoff team. If he was cut he would be put on waivers... and the best teams in the league do not have the highest waiver claims. Can we close this thread please?
  10. Bumping this topic .... is it too late to make comp pick cuts? Do we know exactly when the deadline is?
  11. You have got to be kidding me. Do some of you really still not understand why Dareus was traded? When you start your argument with "Dareus was traded for nothing" you have already proved yourself an idiot and I'm no longer listening.
  12. LOL at the guy saying working 9-5 and commuting to work is difficult. Assuming you sit in front of a computer and sometimes go to the water cooler? Man, life is tough. And you only get 2 PAID vacations a year? That's crazy. Would much rather have 250lb men chasing me for a living and causing brain damaging concussions when they hit me hundreds of times.
  13. Do we really have to turn this into a Tyrod bashing thread when our team is 5-2 and we just made a great trade? Cheer up emo kid.
  14. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/367267/not-finished-dolphins-shopping-jarvis-landry?ls=roto:NFL:topheadlines Is he enough of a character guy for McDermott? The domestic violence accusation looks bad, but if you dig a little further: https://www.floridafootballinsiders.com/will-off-field-issues-jeopardize-jarvis-landrys-long-term-contract-negotiations/ "“I was not in any way physically harmed,” the statement said. “Yes, we are going through a civil family court case and emotions are high, but I would like to make it very clear that Jarvis would never, ever do anything to harm me or anyone else. Jarvis and I are happily raising our beautiful daughter.” Quite a player at a need position. I'm still unhappy with him about his hit on Aaron Williams... but you gotta think he's worth a look. Curious to hear everyone's thoughts.
  15. Haven't seen it posted much around here, but talk about a pleasant surprise! That coffin corner punt was just one of many beautiful kicks this year. http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/punting/sort/puntsInside20 Colton Schmidt and Stephen Hauschka are giving us a nice edge this year.
  16. A big difference in this year vs previous years is we're finding a way to make big stops when we have to and force turnovers at critical moments. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with luck, but we've seen the defense punch so many balls out and step up in big situations ... one has to believe this has McDermott's fingerprints on it. Very encouraging for the future.
  17. Seems like you're a big fan of Anthony Lynn and believe that if we kept him our offense would be excellent. The chargers are currently 23rd in the NFL in scoring and they have significant weapons at QB, RB, WR, TE, and a strong offensive line. ...and I bet you we wouldn't have a top 5 defense if your boy Lynn was still around. So, either you haven't been paying attention to San Diego's performance... or you think we should have hired Greg Roman to be head coach to keep our offense "in tact."
  18. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/9388/sammy-watkins After 6 targets and 1 reception for 17 yards combined the last two weeks ... Sammy is complaining on Twitter again.
  19. Ill be the first to admit... didnt expect KC to be this good. Sitting are 5-0, one would assume that they will be in the playoffs again, perhaps with a first round Bye. So STRICTLY LOOKING AT PICKS (do not factor in White)... was it a good trade? Bills trade 10th overall pick for: 2017 27th overall pick 2017 3rd round pick 2018 (ESTIMATED) 25th-32nd overall pick
  20. http://www.nbcsports.com/boston/new-england-patriots/stephon-gilmore-makes-several-crucial-mistakes-in-new-england-patriots-loss-to-carolina-panthers I rarely ever root against former Bills, but Gilmore was an exception. Always pouting on the field ... always getting national media attention for being "elite" ... never producing. Looks like he's still up to his "elite" ways in Boston as well:
