Haha indeed. That one backfired a bit, eh? I think the coolest part of all of these grades is usually you get at LEAST one hater with a C, C-, or even F. Even the ones who hated our draft didn't hate it that much. That might be the only indication worthwhile that we probably did a decent job.

He was physically capable of playing against the SEC and performing well. They said the same thing about Tom Brady and Chad Pennington. Chill out and just enjoy a solid draft.

The people who are complaining are the same ones who would complain if Josh got hurt and we had no backup plan in a playoff year. Its a 5th round pick and he has lots of upside. There’s literally zero reason to dislike this pick.

This could be a crazy thought, but I wouldn’t mind us going WR again in the 5th-7th. Lets stack options for Josh and hedge Davis not working out. CB/S and O-Line is fine too, but I like having options in the event of injury.

1. They don’t have the salary cap space to do this. 2. This is not how the Packers want to groom their successor. 3. It would screw over the Packers for this year. 4. The Patriots would have trade at least two first rounders to get him and I doubt the Packers would accept their 2021 and 2022 picks. That never happens.

Limited athleticism.... alright, I get it now. Yes, he does not run fast in a straight line. If he did run fast in a straight line, he would be a top 10 pick, but he didn’t so we got him in the late second round. He is a great football player, though. So I’m ecstatic and still believe he can be a star. Average 40 time for a defensive end is 4.80, which is what JJ Watt and most other power rushers run. Epenesa ran a 5.04. Those extra 0.20 seconds don’t turn him from a potential star to a role player.

I can’t stand this mentality. When we took Epenesa ESPN said “solid but not a star” so that’s what all the parrots are saying. The guy was a sack monster at a need position and is incredible against the run. We got a first round talent in the first and a second round talent in the third at NEED POSITIONS. Flashy “Star players” are for the Rex Ryan regime. We’re clearly building a TEAM that’s good at everything. Every player can’t be a “star” and but we have highly above average guys at nearly every position now.

It’s shocking that people aren’t absolutely thrilled with this pick. First round caliber talent who had tons of production in college and fills a position of need. My guess is they wanted a “sexy” pick like WR or RB, which can easily be found in the third or fourth.

Buddy Nix confirmed that he spread rumors around that Cordy Glenn is too slow to play tackle. Cordy dropped and Buddy got him in the 2nd round. It's called "Smoke Screen Season" for a reason. This has been proven dozens of times. The Dolphins might be trading up for an OT or they may not, but Ian Rappaport's reporting means less than nothing. Nobody is telling the truth to him. Can we kill this thread?

I deleted my comment. Thought he was listed at 6’2” because that’s the first thing that came up. Not sure why everyone is so enamored with a pass catching RB that hits home runs when we have zero goal line back, but ok. Also seems to be a lot of weird tempers on this thread, so I’m going to back away slowly.

Pass. Would rather have a true possession receiver (he’s not) or a true tackle breaking RB (he’s not). Not really interested in a ‘tweener. This is Laviska Shenault minus the explosion.

Every year is different and this year is particularly deep in round 2 and 3. To be specific, I was referring to those rounds.

I don't want to see us trade up for any player. This is a draft where you can get First Round talent in the 2nd round and maybe even 3rd round. Would you rather have Delpit or a stud WR to groom and stud RB to groom under Josh? I think that's a little more important than safety depth right now.

Here's the thing, man. The reason people are saying this is the best WR class ever is NOT because it has two or three elite prospects. It's because there are about 10 WR this year who are actually worth a first or second round pick. At pick 22, you would get a guy with similar talent as pick 54. So, if you really want to take a chance on another upside WR, just take one! This is one of those rare "have your cake and eat it too" scenarios. One of these guys in the second round is going to be a star, too.
