Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
LABILLBACKER replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I believe our offensive weapons are still dead even with KC (Diggs v Kelce). The area we should "on paper" slightly move ahead of KC would be the supplemental offensive players. Sherfield, Kincaid and Harty should more than replace the offensive production we got from Crowder, Kumerow, McKenzie and Beasley. If we run these bigger power backs more effectively and use play action/ 12 personnel, this Allen led offense will be scary. -
Eventually Kelce retires and Chase/Higgins have to get paid. In a couple years the balance of power could look very different.

That's a fantastic and accurate way of describing Ken's first year. It was like a Daboll intern just running it back while he hangs on. I saw nothing innovative from his plays or schemes. It was basically Josh & Stefon doing the heavy lifting while the OL/ Run game struggled. The offense albeit functional statistically, lacked creativity and an identity.

Allen crushes Mahomes in first round of amateur golf tourny

It will be the same on the football field when Kelce retires. No Tyreek...No Kelce....No Bueno. On a side note I definitely want to play Edgewood before I groak. -
Good Breakdown on Bills, KC, and Cinci moving forward

As far as Spencer sucking, you'll get no argument from me. And yes Q was just as embarrassing. I'm not expecting a no injury season. But maybe not as brutal as last year. -

Everything about last year was bad luck. I've never seen a Bills team in 50 years go through that much. Von was on pace to have a 13-14 sack season. Spencer getting hurt almost ended Josh's season. Micah goes down early, Poyer hurt all year and Tre's slow return all factored in. Last year was an avalanche they couldn't survive. -

I think realistically with these contracts and player ages, this will be the last shot at a Lombardi during Josh's first window. And yes I see him having a 2nd window after a mini 2 year rebuild. Players like Morse and Hyde will likely be gone after this season. And White possibly soon after. The key to the Bills future will be the better drafting of OL & WR. That will dictate Josh's 2nd window. -

Nothing shocking here. Since Josh's rookie year the Bills have spent more on defense 6 straight years. -

Starting this season I can see Dorsey opening up a can of TE whoop ass. And if I'm Josh, I'm using Knox & Kincaid as my number 2 & 3 targets. Whatever we get from Davis, Harty & Sherfield will just be gravy. -
Best Bills player to wear every jersey number (51-99)

Milano is the top 58 -
I found Dion to be incredibly articulate. It was a great interview, even with Cow continuing to stir the Diggs pot.

First of all if it's not life and death, why are you on here so often? Secondly how massive is your "participation trophy" collection? -

I'm sorry....your right, all that matters is our regular season performance. We're top 5 in offense and defense every year. What's not to like. Who needs a championship. Just entertain me......playoff results are irelavant. The true message is unfortunately too many fans are perfectly content with this narrative. And that's frightening. -

Yup....as long as McDermott runs this team, he will always emphasize the defense over the offense. No matter how generational Josh is. KC has proven twice you don't need a top 10 defense to win a SB. -
Whoever plays the Bills in the playoffs and wins, usually doesn't fair well the next week. The Bills do need to become a little less Allen-centric. And yes the turnovers need to decrease.

4 cut candidates on Bills’ roster ahead of NFL training camp
LABILLBACKER replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, Boogie will be the first one shown the door. They'll likely keep AJE one more season cause he's a cheap rotational guy who can get ya 5-6 sacks. Groot absolutely must take that next step because Miller/Floyd won't be around long term. -

Spencer improving this season is absolutely mandatory to our success. Josh cannot get hammered from the right side like he did last year. I'm rooting for Damar to at least make the 53. Even if he's the last safety off the bench. -

Agree...Basham and AJ aren't long for this team. You keep Hines as your KR and RB depth. This will probably be Morse's final season. Not sure what's happening with Murray or Marlowe but I think they'll be casualties too. -
Playoff offense is just as much an issue as defense
LABILLBACKER replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree wholeheartedly. It's like the expression " you can buy the groceries but can you cook the meal"? I love that they both finally identified that the OL desperately needed upgrades. And they also made offensive upgrades to players like Singletary, McKenzie and Kumerow/Crowder that should help. As much as I critique Sean's post season record, I'm optimistic he does well this season. -

It's great to be able to set up the chess pieces. But at some point you gotta be able to play. Sean's strategic abilities in big games are lacking. Houston and 13 seconds are 2 classic examples of probably winning if we had a better tactician. That will always be my argument. As an administrator of process, character and culture he will always be the greatest coach in Bills history. But there's more to coaching than just " human resources".
