  1. We looked pretty gased in the 1st quarter of that Cincy game. I understand the rationale of platooning for rest sake. But I cringe at the thought of mediocre players like Boogie, Phillips and AJ filling in the remaining 35-40%. Now that we've upgraded our 2nd line of depth, we should be able to hold our own.
  2. Give me Shaq @4 and let Ray/AJ battle for that last spot. Boogie either trade for a 6th or 7th.
  3. Which would be a mistake considering Shaq is clearly the better player.
  4. Wow, wish granted. Out of all the remaining available pass rushers, this is the guy I wanted most. Absolutely amazing signing.
  5. What's absurd is that 570 snap count. How can he ever have an impact at such a low snap count?
  6. Exactly, the previous defense (Frazier) was so predictable opposing teams knew we would run the same soft zone all game.
  7. I think this is exactly what they'll do. With Gabe's ankle issues and inconsistencies, you can't pay a wr3 the money of a #2. See what Gabe does in his final rookie contract year. If he continues with the drops then draft his replacement. I think over the next 2 years Diggs & Kincaid will be gobbling up most of the targets.
  8. If Sean does call more stunts and blitzes then in theory this should improve Ed's performance. And if that was the collective reasoning for extending him then I'm all for it. But if Daquan or Poona get hurt, it comes crashing down.
  9. When do these analytical stats translate to sacks & TFL's? Over a 4 year span Ed averages 3.6 sacks and 7.5 TFL.
  10. Yes, if Jones & Ford stay relatively healthy it will allow Ed to continue his serviceable role. Ed's numbers do not jump out and scream top 10 DT. And yes if you look at a future formulatic version of this contract you can rationalize it's 14-16th ranked. But what happens if Poona or Daquan get hurt? Or God forbid Ed gets a substantial injury? I've watched our defense let us down during the SB run and even in the last 4 playoff exits. I'd rather put any residual money toward supporting Josh.
  11. I may not know much about DT play but I've had plenty of opportunities to watch Ed play. And he's not worth this big a contract. Dareus 2.0
  12. So basically we're both hitting. 333. Cool
  13. Prime....if Ed balls out and leads us toward a championship with the "learning curve" issues, I will be the first one to personally apologize to you. I just see Dareus 2.0 in this whole extension. And we all remember how that worked out. Ed shows me nothing that screams 10M/yr, let alone a whopping 17 large. And I think you're extremely underestimating Sean's "Belichick-like" abilities to micro manage.
  14. The only thing delusional about you Prime is your love affair with Edmunds and Oliver. Two underperforming 1st rounders.
  15. I can't wait for the 5 good games he plays out of 17.
  16. Sean will always value his underperforming defensive players over anything remotely offensive. It's how he's wired.
  17. He's had 4 years to improve on it. Now he has another 4 years to not improve on it.
  18. This is shocking, stupid and completely irresponsible. Maybe we'll pretend Gabe is a WR2 and give him 50M. That money could've gone toward a RT next year after Brown gets Josh killed. Unbelievable??
  19. I agree. The ultimate key to success this season will be between Josh & Dorsey. Our offense needs an identity beyond "get open and I'll chuck it".
  20. We may have Jettisoned Saffold but we're still stuck with Brown & Quessenberry. Our interior protection should be improved. It's the outside that scares me. JA taking blindside hits?
  21. Just like our loveable Marv, you can't help but root for McDermott. Great man of integrity and brought this team out of 17 years of useless football. But just like Marv, Sean gets outcoached and dismantled in the playoffs. I often wonder what a more successful coach would've done with a 16-0 lead in Houston or with 13 seconds left in KC. Maybe tell Farwell to stay put as you run out on the field with your ST and tell them EXACTLY what you want them to do. Last year I'll chalk it up to "Hamlin exhaustion". But Sean is quickly running out of excuses. Farwell takes the fall in 21, Leslie in 22. Is it Dorsey's turn in 23? Josh would have to play out of his mind to cover up some of these game management warts.
  22. I will be floored if Kincaid doesn't become the long term solution in the slot. And I think he will absolutely kill it there. I see Shakir sliding in to absorb the WR3 duties once Gabe is gone. The question remains who plays WR2?
  23. Yup, outside of Josh and the 1st round pick we used on Diggs, it's been awhile. Dareus and Oliver were real disappointments. I say spend the majority of your cap money on offense and build a competent D with hungry lower tier players. Unless a sure thing DE drops in our lap it's full steam ahead surrounding JA with talent.
  24. Shakir wasn't the only one who's reps were down. This team has talent. Dorsey just has to demand from Josh that he spreads the wealth and doesn't just go to Diggs all the time.
  25. Yup, as we experienced last season Daboll is worlds ahead of Dorsey. It just felt like no one was schemed up last year. Just a "go out and get open" gameplan.
