  1. If you think’ he’s just like Josh Allen, why bring him in ? What good is an older Allen with no potential to improve ? Pursue other options than Kaep.
  2. Better than what ? The game isn’t until week 16.
  3. Good teams can run the ball even when the defense is expecting it.
  4. Yep, good work and very interesting. It seems that the QB you describe is not a myth, but exists only in the rarified air that all fans want their QB to occupy. There are only a few of these around; some are near the end of their storied careers and a few notable others are off to a great start to take their place. If you win that QB lottery your team can be set for 10-15 years or more ( these days). When it doesn’t happen fans want to bang their fists on the table, calling for firings all around. It’s just a total crapshoot, and fans today only want to wait about a season and a half before moving on to another guy. So what to do ? A GM could probably draft a 1st round QB every year for 5 years and still not end up with one of your 4 truly elite guys. It’s notable that zero NFL teams do this. Fwiw the Bills are probably going to stick with Josh Allen until the end of the 2020 season, though many already want him gone. It appears all us fans can do is be patient, but if you’re waiting for that top 5 elite guy your favorite team might not ever get one.
  5. So you would just draft a QB in the first round every year, give them each about 20 games before moving on to the next guy. Hopefully, you’d get a winning lottery ticket that can do it all out of the gate before being fired. It hasn’t happened yet with Allen and maybe never will, but I’d guess they stick with him until the end of 2020 season. After that, probably big changes again and maybe Beane gets one more shot to find QB gold or it’s a new GM.
  6. So as the Bills OC, how would you scheme plays to minimize those issues while Allen develops ?
  7. If they don’t add significantly to the offense, that will be their demise with the Bills.
  8. Before the season I figured anywhere from 7-10 wins. Still sticking with that projection; this isn’t an 11 win team even with an easy schedule and few injuries. Tasker is nuts.
  9. I said they’re not elite. Still a couple players away from that, but they are legit.
  10. Funny thing is, I doubt many of these fans were clamoring for Jackson . ( I liked him at Louisville and thought he should be a consideration if the team didn’t want to move up). Further, Harbaugh and the Ravens really had to step back and think outside the box with him. I doubt the Bills would have drafted Jackson, but I also don’t think they have the creative side to their coaching for it to succeed. He went to the best situation possible for him, and is thriving as a result. The draft is a crapshoot, but some of it comes down to situation and coaching as well.
  11. No. Where are the inflated offensive stats from the week schedule? Defense has been very consistent regardless of opponent. Pats scored only 16. ( one TD was a return) . TEN seemed able to score on the Chiefs defense, not on the Bills. The Bills D is legit, if not quite elite. Only one game got out of hand ( Eagles) and not until late. Only the W/L record is inflated by the schedule, and it’s because the offense is sub par.
  12. If the Bills lose games to teams they are expected to lose to ( even by fans) , that doesn’t qualify as a collapse to me. How have they proven they are a very good team thus far?
  13. It was a contrast. Good teams won’t be tested by the Bills offense.
  14. Yes, in a nutshell the Bills are half a football team. The defense is above average, and the offense is below. In today’s NFL, it seems better to be strong on offense and weaker on D than the other way around. The game favors offense so much now, that most assets are best spent on that side of the ball. An elite pass rusher and a top CB / cover LB should be the major investments on D. 20 years ago a top D could carry a team.
  15. I’ll never forget it. I hate the Seahawks for that and never root for them.
  16. Pretty sure BB has stated that most NFL games are lost rather than won. I would tend to agree with him.
  17. He will be claimed by a team higher on the waiver priority.
  18. Exactly. Brady is the biggest outlier of all time.
  19. True. Contrary to what that guy believes, there are bad OCs out there. A good one can make a difference. There’s definitely an art to it, and some are just much better than others. Wilson is a superior QB, but even that can’t always bail out a bad strategy. Allen isn’t playing at a level to succeed with a mediocre scheme just yet. I hope he can improve, but in the meantime I don’t think he can overcome Daboll’s lackluster game plans.
  20. Would have been smart, and the time was more valuable than the TO. There are other ways to get the clock stopped. You won’t get time back on the clock.
  21. Yeah, happens to all of them eventually. I can’t imagine the unique pressure those guys are under, but kickers as a group are a strange lot. Once the doubt creeps in they’re done.
  22. It does, but I’m not sure McD has it in him. They need a better OC to go along with some better players.
  23. One could argue they were making more big plays earlier in the year. The coaches have drilled the “ don’t throw INTs “ mantra into Allen, but that’s meant a more conservative offense. The big plays have dropped off a lot the last 4 or 5 games. Some of that is also defenses catching up , and Daboll hasn’t done much to counter. The offense has actually gotten worse.
  24. He should have went for it on the 4th and short late. Their kicking situation is shaky; have to be able to get a half yard.
