Pass rush problems...exaggerated?
Boatdrinks replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow, that ranking by PFF seems very high. I obviously don’t see every other NFL game, but I’d have guessed the Bills would be in the bottom half of the league somewhere. They don’t get a ton of pressure or sacks, and not many takeaways as a direct result. I’m surprised at their analysis. -
Bills Mafia invading Cleveland? Update: probable
Boatdrinks replied to benderbender's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to the extent that the unofficial destination game in Nashville was, but this one makes sense. It’s easy to get to for WNYers, and plenty of tix available on the secondary market. Won’t happen until NE reverts back to their late 80’s / early 90s form post Brady. Pats* fans come here because it’s easier and cheaper to get tix than in Boston. -
It’s been a great week of football. Started out with a Bills win, a Pats loss and finishes with a Buckeye win and an Alabama loss ! Go Bills and go Bucks! Nah, much rather have Tua in Miami. Already hate him, so it’s a perfect fit !

No, Peterman isn’t better than Kaep. It’s about much more than that, though. It’s absolutely right if you believe in the rights of business owners to run their individual businesses ( legally of course) the way they see fit.
-
It’s probably safe to say that not everyone who has NFL talent has an NFL job. Kelly has one and Kaep doesn’t because the people in charge of who gets those jobs think he should have one. That’s how the real world works, and it’s good enough for me.

Amazing how the National Press Ignores the Bills
Boatdrinks replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My issue is exactly as I described. Yes, I find their Pats fandom over the top and irritating. Aside from that ( difficult to separate), it probably is the best AM sports show on TV for football fans. That’s a sad reflection on the competition mostly, ESPN in particular. Their morning talk consists of about 90% NBA subject matter, regardless of what month it is. -

That show is a bunch of unabashed Pats lovers. Very little Pats discussion after the loss to BAL, and they all seemed disappointed. What’s worse, they wouldn’t put the Ravens ahead of NE in their rankings , even after Sunday’s convincing head to head win. They throw Bills fans a bone here and there, but it’s faint praise. -
This does seem to happen a lot. I noticed a couple times vs WAS Star was in pursuit of Peterson and got close but made no effort at all to tackle him. Star deserves some heat, but the more I watch the more it looks like Edmunds is a real problem with the Bills run D. Milano has made a lot of mistakes recently as well.

I doubt that. Many on the board who don’t care for night games ( Sunday and Monday in particular) don’t like them because they work the next morning. A home night game is even worse for this group if they wish to attend. Most Bills fans are aware of the team’s lackluster history in night games , and have some epic beat downs and meltdowns ingrained in their memory. Couple that with the ridiculous domination of the Bills by New England for the last two decades, and you see why a primetime game vs the Pats doesn’t sound too appetizing.

It’s football, entertainment and not that important. Fans want to root for players they like, and the unimportance of football makes it easier to be picky. If I don’t like a player’s personality, I’m probably not a big fan of theirs. We don’t root for politicians, we vote for them. Self confidence , even cockiness can be great for athletes. No need to look like 1970s Elton John or something at the presser, or have weird verbal interactions with the media.

What have the Democrats done in the past Four years
Boatdrinks replied to B-Man's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
That’s about it. Amazing it would even have to be argued. Libs / progs/ Dems have absolutely lost their minds. -
Lol, you missed where I said he isn’t what he once was. Yes, MVP type play would make the personality / behavior tolerable while it lasted.

Seriously. This stuff is some of the most illogical, idiotic type of thinking I’ve ever seen. You’re either male or female. If it’s ambiguous at birth , then it will be treated. Identifying is just a euphemism for “ pretending to be”. How is a male pretending to be female allowed in a women s sporting competition. This stuff is not normal, and any hope the Dems had is likely to be flushed along with this ( and other) agenda. So in the end, that’s a good thing but what a joke they’ve become. -
Cam may still be a decent QB ( not what he once was) , but wouldn’t want him here. Have to agree with AFL and others; I just never liked the guy’s personality and the wacky outfits and mannerisms at the podium. He seems to be a narcissist, maybe manic depressive idk. If I had to guess, I’d say he probably has a psychological disorder or two.

Some mid-season thoughts re Allen and the team
Boatdrinks replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d love to see the early exit , as it would make for a much more enjoyable NFL playoff experience. The Ravens May have exposed the Pats , but I’m not sure many teams can take advantage of it. -
Which is fine, but the league is really about getting fans to watch on TV. The fans care about rivalries, which is why the NFL has always thought them to be important. If players, not fans cared about rivalries the NFL wouldn’t care at all.

Coaches don’t want a QB controversy undermining the team, ever. Anytime you put the backup QB in without injury, this could happen as it happens even with an injury. The QB is just too important of a position for there to be any doubt about who “ the guy “ is. Once you make a move to sit the starting QB in favor of another , he’s all but done as your leader. That’s just how it is.

Actually, a stat was posted this week showing Mayfield had worst rating in the league when not pressured. I’m guessing he’s not worst in the league when rushed.

Many games come down to a few key plays here or there; and trap games are a myth. Besides, the Bills aren’t consistently good enough to have a “ trap “ game. They’re not even favored vs Browns.
-
Wow. That would be a cool feat for this year’s team to pull off, easy schedule or not. 1965? That’s before many on this forum ( myself included) were even alive.
-
They got a late TD and still needed to recover an onside kick ( practically impossible under new rules) to even have a chance. Almost doesn’t mean much. All of the Bills games were fairly close, some required comebacks and the MIA game wasn’t much different. They’ve played pretty consistent football. They’re really not good enough for a close game to mean they played down to anyone’s level. When they beat winning teams then falter and struggle vs a weak one, that would apply.

How many of Edelman’s YAC yards are due to his ability, vs where the ball was placed ?Tyreek Hill ? Let’s be honest, all the things you mentioned can help YAC. Play design can help too. The biggest influence is the talent of the WR. Otherwise, WR are interchangeable, which my eyes tell me they absolutely are not.
-
Or maybe they play to their own skill level , and do so pretty consistently. I wish they could have played to the Pats* and Eagles skill level, but they just aren’t there yet in terms of overall talent.
