Possibly. It depends how much time was left when the drive ended, where the Bills got the ball etc etc. If the Bills score a TD on their final possession the game is almost certainly over. The defense is above average. They can’t always cover for a bottom 5 or so offense. Football rules aren’t set up that way. The offense has to do its part.

Except it wasn’t the final drive. The Bills got the ball back with about 1:40 on the clock and a timeout. You should win or tie that game 90% of the time. It’s a ton of time, and they couldn’t do it. Sometimes the team who has the ball last is going to win the game, and this should have been one of those times. NFL rules don’t favor the defense.

Bills at Browns Post Game Post Mortem
Boatdrinks replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. Score 24 plus per game on average. Don’t need 330 yards passing to accomplish that. Dabolls scheme has no rhythm or reason too it. Just throwing plays out there. Should have methodically went down the field with a couple shots at the TD and at least a makeable FG try if they couldn’t connect. It felt like CLE had the advantage, where if the Bills D was up against that situation in the end I would think they’ve probably lost. -
Seriously, a few yards looks like a struggle. The lack of cohesion in the final sequence today was stunning. As Collinsworth pointed out, it can’t be defended.

Do the Bills ever throw into the end zone like that ?

Lol these plays go in and out of fashion, but I know what you mean. Still, that play always made me nervous for some reason.

Can we attract elite WRs here with Josh
Boatdrinks replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Easy. Draft one, and pay another some money. The Bills currently have two WRs that belong on an NFL roster and one of them is a slot WR. -
Nah it’s been around for a long time, just a variation of a shovel pass. Takes the risk of a fumble out of the equation , but it can turn into an INT if batted around.

If the team doesn’t have a winning record when next November rolls around. -
Yep. If it went thru Hunts arms and into Hughes hands it would have been an INT. It hit the ground, therefore it’s incomplete. Not sure why people can’t understand this.

Not even sure if it would be right to consider a collapse, rather than a product of the schedule. The second half has better, more talented teams than the first. A lot of fans would say they expect the team to lose most of those games because the team isn’t that good. So it’s not a collapse so much as a predictable outcome of the schedule playing itself out.

Hauschka is at 61.5% for the season
Boatdrinks replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He’s seemed shaky since his injury last season, maybe even a few games before. Kickers get like that, and then you have to replace them. It’s an especially big problem for the Bills given their low scoring offense. -
Where does the 10th win come from?
Boatdrinks replied to letsgoteam's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills have a better chance at PIT than they do vs BAL. That team can score 35 easily. Today’s loss hurt because the Bills don’t have as many winnable games left. They weren’t catching New England this year, even with their flaws. -

Oh geez, it’s too early for that. The Bills aren’t losing the rest of their games, but they probably won’t win enough to make the playoffs. They don’t need to lose them all to get a stud; this isn’t the NHL . -

He’s out for the year, but that defense is legit. The Rams did jack squat vs them today so I’d expect a loss. I didn’t think the Bills would win that one even when Ben was injured, and I still don’t. Losing to CLE hurt. -

Realistically it probably won’t. I’d expect the Bills could beat MIA, DEN, and the NYJ. It would be a surprise for them to beat DAL, BAL, PIT, or NE. They won’t be favored in any of those games. -

It was a pass though, just like the Bills use all the time. It’s not like they lost on an iffy call. -

You could, but games go back and forth and 19 points on the road is a good effort. The goal line stops allowed the offense to even have a chance. If you’re expecting a 16 point output to win games in today’s NFL you won’t be very happy. Have to look at the overall picture. The D did their job today, the offense did not. -

I’m not sure fans are overreacting here. The offense has been a problem all year, and continues to be. Teams that produce offense occasionally have bad games and I understand that. The Bills performance has been consistently sub par. The defense isn’t perfect, but they don’t give up more than 20 points very often. The Bills cannot lose games when they don’t. 16 points doesn’t cut it, and they had possession of the ball at midfield with over 1 minuet left and a time out. I agree they don’t run enough, especially with Singletary. -
Their defense is better than the Bills , yes. Their offense still only scored 10 points, but I like the WRs, running game and overall scheme better than Dabolls. Sure, the results would probably be better with one of the most talented QBs in the NFL today. Short of trading for one of those, Daboll needs to go. The talent level isn’t quite there, but his schemes and game plans make little sense.
