Many in this thread whining about Beanes transition comment are demonstrating a psychological occurrence of Catastrophizing Thinking. It's common with people with anxiety disorders, or people with PTSD--that describes many fans relationship with this team. Beane's transition comment may simply mean "a lot of veterans left and a lot of new blood is coming in" it means nothing more, nothing less. It was not secret code for "we are are going to have a dismal season." There are many things more likely to happen than the worst case scenario of a dismal season(s).

There's a lot of people here reading a lot into 26 words Beane said.

Hot Doctors are the balls. My Dentist is a hottie and that has lead me to fixing all my teeth. -
NFL gives players the option to wear guardian shells during games.

Is there research behind these helmets, or just a seems right? It seems the extra padding would exaggerate head movement on impact--maybe leading to neck injuries. My memory of Physics is 40 years old--does this helmet change the moment. -
NEW: Do You Like What Beane Did in the First Round?
boater replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
As of noon Saturday, 82% like what Beane has done. Wow, what a surprisingly high number. If you read the comments around here you would expect a much lower approval rating. I guess the Negative Nancies are disproportionately vocal. -
Live 2024 NFL Draft thread - Rounds 4-7 (Do NOT tip the Bills pick)
boater replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was thinking about the Bills College Scouting Department. I hope they excelled this year. That will show today. Beane is good, but he can only be as good as his inputs. -
Seinfeld. I like to say the punchlines before they do. Did you know Jerry is 69 years old now? It's crazy how time flies. He will always be 30-something to me.

Lions extend St. Brown (4 years, 120 mil, 77 gtd)

Agree. I kinda think this forces Beane to trade up to nab one. -
Off Topic: Sabres rehire Lindy Ruff as Head Coach
boater replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's a relief. I have low expectations, it's a good thing they can cut bait soon. Lindy's record in NJ is the same as Granato's record in Buffalo. The fan boys tell me it is because Lindy had poor goaltenders in NJ. I think that is a weak rationalization of poor performance. -
Pit Bulls are so cuddly!!! Breed more of them.

Pegulas selling 25% of the Bills, per Tim Graham
boater replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was wrong in my previous post. Thanks to all who have point it out. But the termination fee in the big picture is still very little. This from the Buffalo News: -
Pegulas selling 25% of the Bills, per Tim Graham

And the Rams, Raiders, and the Chargers. $28 million to leave year 7 is a drop in the bucket. EDIT UPDATE: I got the wrong lease here. I posted better: https://www.twobillsdrive.com/community/topic/254136-pegulas-selling-25-of-the-bills-per-tim-graham/page/5/#comment-9027190 -
Buffalo Bills QB3 - Sam Hartman (QB, Notre Dame)

Micah Hyde Charity Softball Game-May 19th
boater replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
My preference is for him to retire to preserve his health. If he came back as a depth player cheap, that would be OK. I'm not sure I'd want him back as a starter. He has lost some speed. He compensated with his football smarts, but smarts will only get you so far. -
Kraft hurt Belichik's chances at becoming the Falcons HC per NYP.
boater replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Men find their identity in two things: what they do for a living, and their family life. Belichick lost his coaching gig, and he lost his girlfriend. He must not be a very happy man right now. -
Epic, Hypothetical Trade Scenario: Would ya?

Yeah. And Allen "old and fading" won't happen until he's about 38.. about 10 years from now. -

I thought divorce was the worst thing that ever happened to me, until I came to realize it was the second best thing that ever happened to me. Congratulations on moving forward. It gets better each day. -
One positive from Diggs departure that isn't being discussed
boater replied to BeastMaster's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's always good to be underestimated.... and then surprise them. That's how I lived my professional life. It's a good life hack. I am always uncomfortable when the Bills are highly rated, like they were last season. -
On the TBD news page, Syracuse Post suggests the Bills might even trade down. "The Bills might ultimately be content with letting the draft play out and addressing the position at No. 28 — or even possibly trading back." That would cause a melt down around here.

My heartfelt condolences to whomever is losing the home game. I remember when the Bills lost a home game to London, it really sucked.

Heavy overcast in Amherst. Bummer. At least I will experience the darkness.

Who will be the head scratcher pick(s) in the first round?
boater replied to Sestak4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall
My wrong. Oh my. It's been a long off-season Yep. My bad. With all the Bills drama going on, I forgot the NE news. -
Who will be the head scratcher pick(s) in the first round?
boater replied to Sestak4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall
You can always count on Bill Belichick to make a head scratcher. Though, that may not be the case for 2024. He has a high pick and the QB that NE desperately needs will be there. -
Are we really going to miss any of the departed players?
boater replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've been a Bills fan since 1980. I've seen them come, I've seen them go. For me, the Salary Cap dump of 1999 hurt the most. Sometimes their departure stings. But it stings like ripping off a Band-Aid, it hurts for a moment, then goes away. I doubt many here will rue the departure of Diggs next January, except for a few of the "I told you so" types.
