Many in this thread whining about Beanes transition comment are demonstrating a psychological occurrence of Catastrophizing Thinking. It's common with people with anxiety disorders, or people with PTSD--that describes many fans relationship with this team. Beane's transition comment may simply mean "a lot of veterans left and a lot of new blood is coming in" it means nothing more, nothing less. It was not secret code for "we are are going to have a dismal season." There are many things more likely to happen than the worst case scenario of a dismal season(s).

There's a lot of people here reading a lot into 26 words Beane said.

As of noon Saturday, 82% like what Beane has done. Wow, what a surprisingly high number. If you read the comments around here you would expect a much lower approval rating. I guess the Negative Nancies are disproportionately vocal.

I was thinking about the Bills College Scouting Department. I hope they excelled this year. That will show today. Beane is good, but he can only be as good as his inputs.

My preference is for him to retire to preserve his health. If he came back as a depth player cheap, that would be OK. I'm not sure I'd want him back as a starter. He has lost some speed. He compensated with his football smarts, but smarts will only get you so far.

On the TBD news page, Syracuse Post suggests the Bills might even trade down. "The Bills might ultimately be content with letting the draft play out and addressing the position at No. 28 — or even possibly trading back." That would cause a melt down around here.

You can always count on Bill Belichick to make a head scratcher. Though, that may not be the case for 2024. He has a high pick and the QB that NE desperately needs will be there.

I've been a Bills fan since 1980. I've seen them come, I've seen them go. For me, the Salary Cap dump of 1999 hurt the most. Sometimes their departure stings. But it stings like ripping off a Band-Aid, it hurts for a moment, then goes away. I doubt many here will rue the departure of Diggs next January, except for a few of the "I told you so" types.
