That worked for us with Allen. Worked very well. It will work here as well.

I had to Google that. The results made me hungry. https://www.food.com/recipe/spanish-tomato-bread-with-jamon-serrano-serrano-ham-483705 Reminded me of the French Jambon Beurre. https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1023625-jambon-beurre I think I will have one of those on Sunday for the game. I will use the excellent Wegmans French Baguette for it. I'm not sure what ham locally I will use. I will purchase on Saturday--going into a Wegmans on game day is a suicide mission.

My neighborhood on the West Side of Buffalo near Soldiers Circle has gentrified. It is the same.. but just more expensive. Maybe that's an understatement. The house my Dad bought for $17K in 1962 just sold for $595K. I can't afford to live where I grew up. It's a bummer. Even the duplexes on the next block are expensive. They are all in the $475 range... for a duplex, most with only street parking. What a rip off. I know $595K is the going rate for many people on this board, but for Buffalo, that is really high.

I remember back in the day... I thought Jimmy Spags was a real person. But I'm more convinced than ever it is satire, kind of like the Onion website. Well played.

The decision process is the hardest part. Here I am two years later still wondering if I handled those last days the right way and whether I made the call at the right time. "Did I do it right?" is a recurring thought. I'm sorry for your loss.

Yeah. For a refresher, here is what she said: "There's no control over Stefon Diggs. Dude's gonna do what he wants to do. He'll look in my face and say, 'F you." That isn't a terribly awful thing to say.
-
I think he was checking, boy or girl.

I never had a doubt about what Maddy said. Not for one minute. Having said that, I will give Stefon a pass for being a curmudgeon with the press. I think I would be also if I were a star athlete. Some people don't like the limelight, they aren't built for that. Not everyone can be as friendly as Josh Allen.

Just a tip: if they call you "haole" they don't like you and you should move on, real fast. Outside the tourist spots, the people on Oahu can be racist. The other islands are more inviting and worth visiting if you can afford the additional airfare costs.

Is sitting down at football games normal?
boater replied to benderbender's topic in The Stadium Wall
The last Bills game I attended in person --in the 1990s-- everyone sat. I'm not sure when the standing started. It looks like a bunch of soccer fans. -
Is there a good garbage plate in the Buffalo area? I used to go to Bill Gray's in Clarence, but that closed years ago.
-
I am excited and sad at the same time. The first Bills game signifies the end of Summer to me. I hate the end of Summer, it is the best of all seasons in WNY.
-
Most of the Jets bashing is centered on their offense. That is legit. Let's not forget the Jets D is formidable. As long as that D is intact, the games with the Bills will be uncomfortably close. If McD had the Jets D roster, he would be in the Superbowl.

Truth. And no amount of "back loading" or "shifting money into future years" will change this reality.

Buffett.... I like Berkshire Hathaway but I won't buy it. The old codger Buffett is 93 years old. What will happen when he passes? I imagine the shares would dip in value. --- The Bills Bond is tempting for sentimental sakes. I believe it will be AA rated. It would be my first bond investment, so I'm hesitant.

Cuts, Waiver Claims & 90 man roster depth: A study
boater replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
That supports the argument that Beane is good at his job. But I have been told in these pages that Beane is not very good. -
Anyone else genuinely disinterested in movies from the last 10 years?
boater replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
That is truth. To see how it was done right, back in the day, see The Offer series about the making of the Godfather. It is a great watch. It is on Paramount+ the trailer is here: -
National prep school champion wrestler. William and Mary Safety. Above all, a Ginger. He would fold me like a cheap lawn chair. (shout out to McD: keep up with the floppy hats and SPF-100, I worry about you)

Williamsville NY. I just double-checked. He spends about $500 to open or close the pool. That includes putting the cover on or off.
-
I just heard on the radio... "cost cutting" measures. They also axed Samantha Ponder.
-
A buddy of mine just sold his McMansion. He is entering the empty nest phase of life, but he really wanted to flee from pool ownership. It cost him $700 to open, and $700 to close it each season, not to mention the utilities and chemicals. It was nice for the kids for a couple of years, but the smiles per dollar were low.

How much are you willing to pay for a good beef on weck sandwich?
boater replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
When the craving for Beef on Weck strikes.... I buy the Weck rolls at Wegmans, plus a container of their sliced "London Broil" and it is as good as the best restaurants, at half the price. The London Broil is really good. It's even better than half price when you consider drinks, tips, and tax for a restaurant sit down. -
The most loathsome NFL players of all time
boater replied to TheCockSportif's topic in The Stadium Wall
Heh. The Sporting News just suggested him for Bills backup. You'd probably be OK with that? -
Just quit the season. That performance was pathetic
boater replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall
Due to salary cap hell, I have lowered my expectations for 2024. I see two scenarios: the Bills have a bad year, but I was braced for it, statistically--we're due for one or, the Bills have a good year and exceed my expectations--Yay! I'm ready for either outcome. You won't see me screaming for heads to roll or on the ledge of a tall building. Now if 2025 sucks, we need to talk.
