Football, sure if he was in to it. But I would push other sports before football. I would push rowing the most. That's a lifelong sport (and also where the scholarships if that is your thing). Peeps in Buffalo have a fantastic resource in the world class West Side Rowing Club. Also, lacrosse. Just because that seems like fun. There are also scholarships.

Good stuff. Here is a more specific link to the video: You can also watch the classical version, also great:

Oof. Rough neighborhood. Game day traffic is going to be epic. I get vertigo just thinking about being on those upper decks.

No running back was selected. I kind of expected one in the 4th or 5th. And poor Joe Brady. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.

I wouldn't be shocked if Beane traded up in round two. He has a stash of nine more picks, they don't need that.

Bills First Rnd pick in 2025 draft: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky
boater replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Speed... we haven't had much of it, so this is a refreshing pick. This will be fun to watch. For the old timers, 40 yard dash times: Don Beebe: 4.25 (he claims a 4.21 in a workout with the Jets) Max Hairston: 4.28 I knew Beebe was fast, but not that fast. -
I asked ChatGPT to Mock Round 1 - and the Bills select…
boater replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall
So, to do a mock draft you need two things: draft order an assessment of each player available an assessment of each team's needs #1 and #2 can be found easily enough. But where is GPT getting #3? I doubt GPT has any idea of each team's needs, that's why it chose a WR for the Bills instead of a DL or CB. GPT just chose BPA. -
I asked ChatGPT to Mock Round 1 - and the Bills select…
boater replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I used ChatGPT to aid in the writing of an admissions essay. I did not use the text GPT provided--it was too verbose and it would have been plagiarism. But I did use the outline as a scaffold for my own writing. It worked out well. -
Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)
boater replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Look at the top ten cornerbacks of the 2025 free agency period (not my list, I don't think Rasul should be on it, but whatever): Considering the above list, Beane stuck to his MO of letting the market come to him. He did not make a desperation signing above his budget. Who available would have been a better signing in the same price range as White? Give Beane a break. -
I made a better screenshot. It says "Injuries per game." But I don't know to interpret that..... 4 to 5 turf injuries per game seems awfully high. I suppose it could be right.

Bills player mentioned on a Joe Rogan podcast with Ron White.
boater replied to Coldfronts's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ron White broke a sacred rule of group therapy---what happens in group, stays in group. He shouldn't be on a popular podcast dishing out on people, that's wrong. (not using the player's name doesn't absolve him) -
Bills halt contract negotiations with Cook
boater replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
You and I are in agreement on that. The question is -- what is Cook's agent advising Cook to do? I am not impressed with Cook's agent (Matt Leist of LAA Sports) to this point. His client is active on social media, that is: -- a poor negotiating tactic or -- his client is undisciplined and out of control Neither is good for Cook. -
I am interested in the injury rate of players on the new field. I did some Googling and found that grass is not automatically better than turf. Highmark 2 is going to be a big fat depends... depends on the quality of the grass installation and the skills of the groundskeepers. The NFL fields with the two highest injury rates are grass, will Highmark 2 be better than that? chart source: https://cronkitenews.azpbs.org/2024/09/05/nfl-field-surface-dilemma-concern-2024-season/

There's a lot of money to be made in alternate uniform sales. -
McDermott in animated discussion with Roseman?
boater replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott's thought: I think it is unsafe and should be illegal. McDermott actions: As long as it it legal, I will use every tool in my toolbox to win. A classic case of cognitive dissonance. "The psychological term for holding conflicting thoughts, ideas, or beliefs is cognitive dissonance. " -

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
boater replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
At first, I was outraged that the new stadium was 10000 seats less. But now I'm at peace with it, it kind of makes sense in the bigger picture. Seats were limited in order to make the experience better: bigger seats, more room, larger concourses, no trough in the Men's room. I can't wait for the new place to open. It sure isn't like the old days with Rich Stadium seating an NFL high of 80,000 -
Name a random athlete and something you remember them by
boater replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in Off the Wall
Just popped in my head.... the Sabres Gilbert Perreault. Number one draft pick overall in 1970 and worth every ounce of it. It was fun to watch him play. -
The Patriots Stephon Gilmore'd us, twice this off-season. By signing current or former Bills, I guess they think they're getting a player motivated to stick it to us. They like doing that.

Has Cook talked himself OFF the Bills for 2025
boater replied to DeepPass's topic in The Stadium Wall
Transition tag... that is an intriguing option. Though some say it may not work (wikipedia): "The transition tag is rarely used by NFL franchises. There are two reasons for this. The first is that the one-year transition offer is typically a large amount, which could provide the club with difficulties while attempting to keep the team's aggregate salaries under the salary cap. The other is that players often react badly to receiving the tag, because it limits their ability to negotiate with other teams and therefore hinders their chances of receiving the largest possible contract. Players sometimes counter the tag by holding out or refusing to play for the club, creating distractions and headaches for the club." -
Has Cook talked himself OFF the Bills for 2025
boater replied to DeepPass's topic in The Stadium Wall
There will be no holdout, Cook wants to be seen by future suitors as a team player. He will play his nuts off and do great things this season because it's a contract year. When the 2025 season is over, some team will offer Cook $13 million/yr. and away he goes. At least we got a few good seasons out of him. -
I think Benford loses some dollar value on the open market due to his history of concussion. I'm not saying there won't be interest in him, just saying he will draw less money than he would have otherwise. Once concussed, you're likely to get concussion again. Look at Mitch Morse who was a frequent flyer on the concussion protocol.

It’s time for a generational talent, blue chipper
boater replied to Vickveto's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. I'd rather buy a handful of scratchers than one Mega-Millions. Besides, you have to be an Uber driver from California to win the Mega-Millions. Beane is an above average GM when selecting talent after the first round, let's pick more there. Late round picks also have good long term implications for the salary cap.
