You had to pay extra for the privilege of not having your name & number in it. Imagine that today.

I thought it was a Lions uniform at first, but I'm not going to get all emotional about it. Agree that it's bad for a snow game. Old men yelling at clouds.

I think he and Hailee will reside in SOCAL. But I wouldn't be surprised if he keeps a condo or small house in WNY and visits during the summers. He genuinely seems to like it here.

Yeah, a young Jim Kelly was no fan of Buffalo. IIRC... Kelly did, for a very brief period, leave Buffalo to retire in his hometown in Pennsylvania where he had business ventures with his brother. But that was short lived and he moved back to Buffalo. He's better off in WNY. He fits.

There are only 16 spots on the practice squad. I like to see them dedicated to up and coming players, young studs with promise. I don't like to see them dedicated to veterans aging themselves out of the NFL. Hopefully this Poyer thing is just a temporary dalliance and not a permanent way of business for Beane.

The NFL has a problem: young people aren't watching. The average fan age is the same as the average poster age here--that means: old. That is why the NFL is finessing the Kelce/Swift relationship. It brings in young blood. I'm not going to be an angry man yelling at clouds over the situation. As the Godfather says "It's not personal, it's strictly business"

Thurman Thomas and Jordan Poyer had thoroughly unenjoyable final years with the Dolphins. Douglas is in for the same, that is how it works.

Yep. Even extra points make me nervous. That's a sad state of affairs right there.

Remember WR Duke Williams? Duke Williams had the same fan buzz around him after a training camp of big plays. He ended up bouncing around between the practice squad and the 53-man. He eventually landed in the CFL. Shavers could end up the same way, he is one of those cusp players. He will bounce around between the practice squad and the 53-man. I don't see him permanently part of the 53. There is no Shavers problem.

Funny (to me at least)...I wanted to hear Dave Brubeck Quartet. I entered it into the search bar.. I fat fingered and clicked the wrong result and ended up with Beck, I liked it.

People should get a grip over so-called "taxpayer funded" Pegula paid more than the state, plus he is responsible for the cost over runs which are considerable. All for a building the state will own, not him. In the end, the taxpayers will own a state of the art stadium that they paid half price for. Some might say Pegula got fleeced.

Toyota Tacoma. Who's got one (or at least an opinion on them)

Just throwing this out there, based on my previous car hunt.... Consider a Honda Ridgeline. It's a pickup, but the drive train is more car-like, a smoother ride. That was a consideration for me due to having a bad back. Better gas MPG than the Tacoma, for sure. EDIT: I just Googled and Honda is offering 0.99% financing. Good deal. -
Defeat Monday threads are absolute dreck.

The Superbowl prospects come down to the defense. More specifically, Bobby Babich. The 2024 Bills defense was not very good. Some of that was personnel, but not all of it. I believe coaching had a lot to do with the defense's mediocre performance. In particular, what's the deal with their horrid third down performance? We also see third down problem in the 2025 preseason. Sure, Beane made some big personnel moves to improve the D, but will Babich take full advantage of his new toys?

Will Josh Allen Play Tmrw vs Bears
boater replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Trubisky will start. McDermott will do that: 1) because Trubisky is going to be the backup, 2) a demonstration of gratitude/respect for Trubisky--letting him start in front of his former team/home crowd -
Tsk, tsk. There's no room for harsh reality here.

I can stop hitting F5.
-
Where is the Cook deal? I keep hitting F5 looking for the $11M and I'm not seeing it.
-
So it should be clear we won’t get there rushing 4

I'm afraid Babich is just an "OK" coordinator. Top-20 material. It's a situation where hiring from within wasn't the best option. -
60+ years and never a broken bone. <<knock on wood>> Not a single tattoo, which is a feat after 25 years of military service.

Heh. I haven't dialed up since 2000. Crazy that people still do.
