Week 18 - Around the NFL thread (all but Titans Jags game)
boater replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm relaxed because no matter what happens tonight, I can read TSW tomorrow. There were "missing the playoff" scenarios which I would take a hiatus from TSW, to avoid the uber-negative atmosphere that would be there. -
There are rumors of a Belichick/Raiders matchup. That would be a huge score for the Raiders IF Belichick isn't the GM. Any team that takes Belichick as a GM is doomed.

I like Secret Unknown Buffalo. I'm not ready for higher priced housing and other inflationary things that go with it.

Bills-Dolphins Week 18 for the Division! SUNDAY NIGHT GAME
boater replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Earlier this week, sports media was warning of inclement weather in FL affecting this game. The latest forecast just shows cloudy skies and 15 MPH winds--nothing to really affect a football game. https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=25.7748&lon=-80.1977 -
It will be absolutely NUTZ here if the Bills lose. If the Bills lose, I may make TSW a no-go zone for a week or so.

Alcoholics Anonymous is very successful in getting people off alcohol. https://www.aa.org/ Though, some people find AA is not a fit for them. Some don't like the "belief in a higher power" business, some find AA meetings overwhelming. For those people I suggest looking at Smart Recovery. https://smartrecovery.org/ They have an in-person meeting in Buffalo, and you can also attend several on-line options. Sober life after being a boozer is pretty great.

Another coach posting anti-bulletin board material, so as to not motivate Josh Allen. Bill Belichick is the master at this. -
What are YOU doing to get the Bills into the playoffs?

Why is Diggs coming off the field on Third Downs?
boater replied to vtnatefootball11's topic in The Stadium Wall
LOL... Diggs isn't leaving. the salary cap implications for another team preclude him from getting traded for the 2024 season Allen, Beane, and McDermott still want him here Diggs likes playing for Buffalo he has NO BEEF with management -
The American Media Should Not Be Trusted
boater replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
He's not really running for 2024 President, he's posturing for a 2028 run, and he just might be successful. -
Need a capable backup quarterback next season.
boater replied to margolbe's topic in The Stadium Wall
He will be too expensive. -
At least, to our knowledge, Rodgers is only twisted with his words. He has diarrhea mouth and says things best left unsaid. On the other hand, I'm not aware that any of his deeds are particularly heinous. Sure, he smokes some bizarre stuff, but who hasn't, LOL. There are players who have done worse deeds who barely get any attention. No one is calling them twisted.

Will/Should Von be active vs. the Fish?
boater replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Poor Von. He's a proud player with a highly distinguished football history. This situation must absolutely be eating away at him. His likely Hall of Fame career is ending on a whimper, not a bang. -

boater replied to margolbe's topic in The Stadium Wall
We don't know what we have in Kyle Allen. He has yet to throw a pass in a regular game situation. All he has done in his garbage time snaps is hand off to a rusher, or kneel down. I do admit to being concerned of having to play him--my memories of his preseason games are pretty frightening. I bet if he threw in a regular season game that it would be a sphincter tightening experience. -
Do you get happy when the Holiday season is over?
boater replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall
No happiness at the end of the holidays--only the reality that I put on 10 pounds and have some work to do. Every year. And it doesn't help if the Bills make a playoff run, because that just leads to more consumption. -
What is your New Year's Bills Roster Resolution
boater replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
Find a way to replace those 32-year old's that are in the backfield. -
So how are we feeling about Coach McDermott?
boater replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is a subset of posters here who have the knives out for McDermott. This past couple of weeks have been very hard on them because it's hard to be negative when the team is winning, even ugly winning. They've had to bite their lip when comes to talking smack about McDermott. Don't be mistaken. The haters are still out there and are chomping at the bit to mouth off with their negativity and I told you so's. Nothing short of a Superbowl win will shut them up. Even then, some will still b----. In all likelihood, the end of the 2023 season is going to be dominated by acrimonious McDermott haters. It's kind of a drag. -
How embarrassing for the Bills fan base if so.

Von Miller and Russell Wilson are having a pot luck and watching the Sunday games together. Think of all the GM regret, and tied up cap space in that room.

JA can earn an extra $5 million this year by doing this
boater replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Which is why so few Bills stay in WNY year round.... and also why so many players have houses in Florida. -
I remember for years, the NFL's highest priority was to have two teams in LA. Not just one, but two. It was more than just Goodell, it was many people who wanted teams in LA. It was imagined to be a ratings golden goose. It just goes to show you--having a collective group of billionaires does not translate into good business sense. 32 owners couldn't read the room and realize LA has little enthusiasm for professional football. The sad part: In the NFL's misguided zeal to have two teams in LA, the fans in San Diego and St. Louis got the screw-job.
