Best memory....learning football by listening to Van Miller radio broadcasts---not by watching TV. It was 1980-ish. The Bills games were rarely on TV due to blackout rules, the radio broadcast was the only game in town. Listening carefully to the broadcast and visualizing what they were saying was how I learned a lot about football. It was a great experience. I still enjoy radio to this day. The Monday and Thursday night games are so relaxing to listen to that I'm accidentally asleep by the third quarter.

No underrated pizza for me. I have Bocce, Francos, and Mister Pizza convenient to me. I even have Gino's if I want NY style. It's always a problem deciding where to go. When I lived near Transit Road, I liked Picasso's. I would file them as underrated. People who diss the Buffalo pizza scene just aren't trying. There is something for everyone.

A thread of optimism and positivity. What a pleasant change of pace.

Things that really piss you off when driving.
boater replied to Jon in Pasadena's topic in Off the Wall
People who cut the corner instead of squaring the corner. That is actually crossing a double-yellow line and could get you a ticket. People who hesitate and delay when the green arrow lights up. If I miss this green arrow because of your snoozing.. #$%^% Having said that, I try not to get too pissed while driving. If you get pissed while driving, you are letting others control you--that's not good for your mental health. -
A McD hate thread guised as an objective analysis. We haven't seen one in a long time.

What kind of season are you expecting from Josh Allen this year?
boater replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I reserve judgement until after training camp. I want to see how all the new faces in the WR room perform in August. Making forecasts now with what little we know of these WR is folly. -
Buffalo has Back to Back League Champs! Bandits #1
boater replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
This championship win is filed under things that make me happy. My bucket list has "attend a Bandits game" on it. I understand they are quite an experience. Raucous. Vinc is a helluva goaltender. I believe hockey and lacrosse dynasties come down to goaltending. Like QB is to the NFL. -

Down. I have a dog who would drink the bowl dry and pee all over the house. She's absolutely nuts about water--she has no limits.

Joe Marino breaks down the schedule completely
boater replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I started to watch and it was interesting, but I wish there were a transcript to skim over. I don't do podcasts or videos--I am a reader. -
Heh, he is a bonehead for certain. Though, it's interesting watching people get so emotional and indignant about the comments from someone with zero quan. That's just like, his opinion, man.

Dan Snyder is a bellend. (It's my first time using that word. It's part of the p----, or an annoying or contemptible man) He has short man complex for sure. Glad he's gone.

You can't criticize Beane here for selecting another "Team Captain" ..LOL. -
Polls Are Basically Useless
boater replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
National polls are as helpful as breasts on a bull because we don't have a popular vote. You have to watch the polls in each swing state to have any predictive value. How are the voters in PA, MI, AZ, GA, NV, NC, and WI. Those states are where 2020 played out, and 2024 will play out. Too bad state level poll data isn't published. It's held internally by the campaigns. While we're talking, here is the latest national poll data that you can take with a grain of salt: CNN Poll: Trump maintains lead over Biden in 2024 matchup as views on their presidencies diverge -
Draft Analysis - We're All Debi from Depew
boater replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Does Debi have big accoutrements? (hooters) -
People who watch YouTube highlight reels, read Mel Kiper, watch a college game on TV, read combine stats, have a fantasy team, etc. are smarter than... A GM supported by a College Scout Team who: dedicate their 24/7 to scouting, have met the player privately in person, maybe had a private tryout, went to college games in person, spoke with college coaches, actually fielded calls with other NFL GMs, etc. And has detailed inside knowledge of his team needs that no outside has. every time.

This may be Beans best draft ever. I loved every pick
boater replied to oldschoolfootball1963's topic in The Stadium Wall
But he selected Team Captains. (if there ever was a more stupid complaint) -
Many in this thread whining about Beanes transition comment are demonstrating a psychological occurrence of Catastrophizing Thinking. It's common with people with anxiety disorders, or people with PTSD--that describes many fans relationship with this team. Beane's transition comment may simply mean "a lot of veterans left and a lot of new blood is coming in" it means nothing more, nothing less. It was not secret code for "we are are going to have a dismal season." There are many things more likely to happen than the worst case scenario of a dismal season(s).

There's a lot of people here reading a lot into 26 words Beane said.

NFL gives players the option to wear guardian shells during games.
boater replied to Walking Tall's topic in The Stadium Wall
Is there research behind these helmets, or just a seems right? It seems the extra padding would exaggerate head movement on impact--maybe leading to neck injuries. My memory of Physics is 40 years old--does this helmet change the moment. -
NEW: Do You Like What Beane Did in the First Round?
boater replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
As of noon Saturday, 82% like what Beane has done. Wow, what a surprisingly high number. If you read the comments around here you would expect a much lower approval rating. I guess the Negative Nancies are disproportionately vocal.
