  1. I have evening drinks, nothing too crazy, but enough to get in trouble with the law. Sometimes the kids would ask me to drive out and get take-out food. They get a big fat NO from me. On some occasions I've spoiled them with UberEats. I figure the extra $15 is better than a horrific accident, lawyer fees, and jail time.
  2. I LOVE a Buffalo summer. Your count down to deep winter is unwanted. I'm always conflicted this time of year, I love the Summer and regret the Fall. But dang... the Fall brings NFL football.
  3. I'm here for the big picture and camaraderie (had to use spell check there). I get lost at the granular technical details. For example: I don't know the differences between a 1-tech, 3-tech, or 5-tech lineman. I also get eye glaze when people talk about college prospects... the people who have the time and brain cells to dedicate to tracking hundreds of college prospects... color me impressed. Though, sometimes I think they make it up after the fact.
  4. Hey.. May through October are pretty good. June/July/August are spectacular.
  5. That's one of many reasons that I bought an umbrella policy for $1 mil. I had 4 kids under 18... who knows what kind of mishaps they may have gotten into. Advice to all: get some quotes on umbrella policies, you won't be disappointed. My homeowners went down because I got my umbrella where I have my homeowners.
  6. Belichick should just give it up and enjoy the few remaining years he has left. Yes, he's that old, he's 5 years away from male life expectancy of 77. I read somewhere that Belichick keeps going because he wants to set some kind of record. I think it was Don Shula's record of 347 victories. Belichick has 321 victories. He's not even close. He's 26 victories short, it will take 3 seasons of .500 football to overtake... he'll never make it.
  7. I like myself some occasional Skittles. Who can't like fruit-flavored sand?
  8. Yeah. I'm concerned about a daughter who guzzles soda. I'm trying to get her to at least downshift to Diet. No luck so far.
  9. That's his key right there. One meal a day. It's known as the OMAD diet and it gets results. He's cheating a bit with the Skittles, but I guess the rigors of pro-athlete training lets him get away with it.
  10. No PSLs was never really a realistic outcome. They will happen. The question I have: is how much will they be. Will they be rustbelt/WNY affordable rates, or will they be glitz and glam Cowboys/Redskins rates? Given that Legends has Cowboys DNA, I am concerned about high PSL fees. Yeah, but from what I hear: Delaware North at Highmark is pretty deplorable.
  11. I hope they are good. Today's news is Legends just purchased ADPRO from the Pegula's, furthering their influence on the Bills. http://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/legends-expands-wny-presence-with-purchase-of-adpro-sports-from-pegula-family/article_8d618b94-27f7-11ee-b530-b3fb90df22f3.html Hmm... one might guess Legends is going to stick true to their formula and implement PSLs.
  12. I lived in the DC area when Jack Kent Cooke, the previous owner of the Redskins passed. He was revered by Skins fans. Skins fans were reticent with this new "Snyder" guy. Boy, were their instincts right.
  13. In the final weeks of the regular season, they lost a game to Columbus! Columbus! If they won that game as they should have it would have been playoffs.
  14. Sounds like you both need CPAP. Address the snoring, no need for sleep divorce. Unless someone has the jimmy-leg... that's a whole other story.
  15. Agitated fans referred to him as "Lonnie Freaking Johnson" Except it wasn't "freaking"
  16. When I retired from the military St. George was in my top 5 places to go. I ended up back in WNY because I have friends and family there. St. George is kind of cool.
  17. A city doesn't need a good newspaper per se. What a city needs is a strong newsroom. A sizeable group of reporters to dig into local shite going on. It could be print, TV, radio, internet... the medium doesn't matter. A city just needs a large newsroom. Look at the Two Bills Drive main page. Most of the articles are from the Buffalo News... a large newsroom. What would fill that void if they closed? The next best source of Bills news is WGR... cringe.
  18. Warren Buffett, one of the world's most successful and richest men, and former owner of the Buffalo News, is standing by for your call telling him he shouldn't have sold. I would say Warrent Buffett's decision to sell a turd is better than Lee Enterprises buying decision. Buffett fleeced a sucker.
  19. I refuse to be a Buffalo News subscriber again. I tried home delivery at their teaser rates. When the morning paper would arrive at 2 PM, if at all, I attempted to cancel. You have to navigate a complex phone tree and be willing to wait on hold for an hour to cancel. All by design of course. Even when you finally break through to a person, then you're subject to high-pressure sales tactics to stay. Scoundrels.
  20. I like it when posters here on TSW start out with "I heard..." or "I was told..." ..it's almost always something far-fetched and improbable.
  21. You have classic PTSD symptoms. Intrusive bad memories, easily brought up.
  22. Post of the week. So tired of the fans who want to fire Beane and McDermott if they fail to deliver the Lombardi. Have they no memory of the drought?
  23. People love classic cars, of any brand/model. Just watch the Barrett-Jackson auction when it's on TV. Plenty of enthusiasm for all kinds of cars.
