  1. Directv is our primary provider for TV. They’re having one of those semi-regular contract disputes that cable and satellite carriers seem to have nowadays. Because of it, we haven’t had access via Directv to the local Atlanta NBC affiliate for several weeks. No idea how close they are to resolving the dispute. Can one of you answer this: does Peacock carry the Sunday Night NFL telecasts? btw- don’t need commentary on Directv. We’re long time subscribers that have an excellent 3-TV HD DVR package with Max and most cable channels for which we’re billed a whopping $60/month. They’ve been very good about negotiating low fees with us.
  2. Bills looking ahead to Dolphins, stupid penalties, careless with the rock, Belichick pulls out the old ‘throw long and get pass interference in red zone’ to get in FG range for winning kick in closing seconds. Bills 17 Pats 15
  3. Marv is the sort of person who sets an example for goodwill, integrity,,and class. I can’t imagine anyone who’s known or dealt with him ever having a bad word to say about the man. For all the crap we’ve experienced with Buffalo sports, we’ll always have Marv to be proud of-assuming he never murders an ex wife.
  4. Uhh, yeah, no kidding. It also wasn’t called the ‘sistern’ chapel. It’s humor. Obviously, Rembrandt was busy with Whistlers Miother. Or that guy from Depew, Jackson Polack.
  5. If Rembrandt takes a knee before finishing the sistern chapel or forgot the wiener on the statue of David they would fire his arse! 😜
  6. You forgot to mention Allen doesn’t walk like a girl
  7. I can’t remember an NFL game in which the desperation lateral drill tactic actually worked and resulted in a winning TD. Anyone here have a different recollection? edit: not referring to a kickoff backward pass like the Titans Wycheck thing. I was meaning a last play from the line of scrimmage with seconds remaining.
  8. Minor detail… I believe regarding the Dodson comment, the much hated Collinsworth was referencing PFF data reports, not necessarily his own opinion.
  9. Playoff position? Yeah, they must suck. You can just as easily say they could’ve, should’ve won a couple others in which opposition got a break or two. As the saying goes, the team is what the record shows. Considering that on defense they’re now fielding more reserves than the starting 11 from game 1, I’d say they’re doing pretty well.
  10. Yes, I’m slightly worried the Bills will regress to their lackluster performances when they face inferior competition like The Chargers and Patriots. We’ll soon find out if those days are behind us or if they’ve turned the corner to play like a championship caliber team. All the ‘what if’s’ of this season are painful. We shouldn’t have to be concerned about ‘needing help’ from other AFC teams. If they blow it against either the bolts or pats, they don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. I’m not ready to start talking draft 2024. C’mon Bills. Kick some ass. Go Bills!
  11. McDermott’s ‘extremely arrogant’? He’s appears somewhat uncomfortable ‘on stage’ - when he has to address the media or large groups, but that’s just a personality trait. I’ve never seen anything from him to believe he’s arrogant. Anything but.
  12. ....Until they blow it to a very beatable Chargers team - then the 'Fire McDermott' chants will rise to a new level. 😜 I do agree. It feels different since Dorsey's dismissal. Is it because Dorsey's offense was contributing to losses, the firing just a wake-up call to everyone, or is Brady that much better? Are the defensive reserves who've taken the place of injured starters just finding their footing? Are player rallying around McDermott after the lambasting he received from that writer? Is it a combination of all these things? For whatever reason, it does feel different. If not for a few mishaps and an amazing 59 yard field goal in less than ideal conditions in the Eagles game, the Bills could be 4-0 since Brady took the reigns. Along the way, defeating the super bowl winner in their yard, playing solid against a defending conference champion (again, on their home turf), and beating the snot out of 'America's Team' - a serious contender for to reach this year's super bowl. The litmus test will be if they can keep it going against inferior opponents. Do they only rise to the level of the teams they're facing? If they stumble against the Chargers, it will tell me it was all just an illusion. If they continue on the current path, they could be writing a great overcoming adversity, feel-good comeback story. Go Bills!
  13. The ‘hassle’ is relative in this instance. I like having a means to sit in my cozy living room or man cave to watch Bills games. Yeah, it’s somewhat of a hassle compared to the days of Directv Sunday ticket with a game or two on ESPN, channel 206 or the occasional major network night game. But even with the inconvenience of needing to subscribe to multiple services to see all the games, it still beats the alternative of sitting for 4 hours in uncomfortable wood chairs in a noisy sports bar that serves overpriced and poorly cooked wings. In my opinion, the pre-streaming days of Directv NFL Sunday ticket were ideal. Good DVR options, great picture, and I still much prefer rewind and fast-forward features on DTV. Streaming has its place, but it’s given the NFL new methods of forcing us to bend over if we want to see our team.
  14. Exactly the way I predicted it would go when so many were screaming ‘eff Directv’ and their cable providers, certain they’d save big by cutting the cord. It’s the same folks running the show. They’ve been waiting for everyone to have smart TVs and app subscriptions so they can have you under their collective thumbs. They’ll offer sweet deals to get you on board, it wasn’t long before we found ourselves subscribing to multiple services that are gradually jacking up the monthly fees. How many of you have both Netflix and Amazon Prime? Remember when they were under $10/month? They’re nickel and diming us right back to where we were when we proudly ‘cut the cord’. I’ve stuck with Directv.after negotiating a super deal. We have Amazon and a few others, mostly educational, NFL+, and news apps that were a reasonable yearly fee. The pisser is that the Sunday ticket doesn’t cover the prime time games in which good teams are featured, and now those games are being diverted away from mainstream stations to apps like Peacock. The NFL creates a desirable product that allows them to generate beaucoup bucks. At least we’re not in the dark ages of blackouts.
  15. it's the first time I recall the O-line not having to play musical chairs due to injuries. In the past they were often reaching deep into the depth chart just to have 5 linemen. Amazingly, they've fielded the same 5 starters all season. Knock on morning wood.
  16. Thanks to an alert from a TSW post ( thank-you) I got a Black Friday subscription from Peacock for $19.99 for 12 months. I knew it was the only way to view the upcoming game live and there were other shows my wife and I would possibly watch. So, $19.99 won’t break us. It’s less than a couple movie tickets. It’s not worth it to me going through all the stupid sign-up, username, email address, password trial subscription rigamarole B.S. and then canceling, just to save a few bucks. Get it for a month at $5.99. BFD. What would you spend at the sports bar?
  17. I’m sure the NFL network will be replaying it a couple times during the week.
  18. Was the announcer duo their A team? That was promoted as the game of the week and was being broadcast in every market. I guessing that with Amazon, NFL network, Peacock, CBS, Fox, NBC, and ESPN all doing games now, the talent in the booth has been thinned out, leaving Fox with undynamic (boring) announcers. I didn’t pay any attention to the music, but have never figured out that silly dancing robot/Iron man graphic or why during the broadcast, when showing player stats, they convert photos of players into cartoons. ???
  19. Seeing this makes the Patriots loss and the 2 OT losses sting that much more. If everything else had gone the same way and only one of those 3 winnable games went in the Bills’ favor, they’d be in the 4th seed position with very good chance to move into the 2 seed and an outside chance to get the first.
  20. Absolutely. If I could wave a magic wand and trade the win for a Josh Allen 300 yard passing game, no brainer. Take the passing stats every time. 😏
  21. If he can take his pass protection to the next level, he will be the Bills’ best all-around back since Thurman.
  22. Like you, I’m not getting WXIA, the local Atlanta NBC affiliate. Other than my 7:30 Jeopardy evening wind-down routine, there’s almost nothing I watch on NBC or most of the other broadcast networks. Somebody posts Jeopardy every night on YouTube, so I don’t really miss anything. I’d call and complain to Directv and demand credits, but after prior negotiations I’m already getting a top tier package on 3 TVs for $60/month. Eventually Directv and Mission will work out the contract. I suspect they’re not getting the volume of complaints they used to get in these situations. There’s too many options that allow viewers to get local channels. Stand your ground Directv.
