Worse case scenario, Bills lose and season over. But, if there’s any silver lining it’s that without making any additional moves they have a draft pick in at least the top 18. With a couple trades maybe move into top 12 and grab a blue chip WR. Also, slightly easier schedule in 2024, playing 2nd place teams in 2 AFC divisions and NFC. I believe we’d get Broncos and Browns where Miami gets KC and Ravens in AFC. Not wishing any of that on the Bills, just looking for some redemption should the worst happen. That said, I’m usually a bit nervous about the Bills; will they find a way to beat themselves with turnovers, poor execution, dumb penalties, etc.? Not feeling any of that today. My gut is telling me the Bills will slap the Dolphins silly, winning their 4th consecutive division title. Go Bills! Squish those fish!

Von Miller: Bills made “right decision” to sit me
SoMAn replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sack statistics can be misleading unless they're combined with QB pressures. I wish the stat was commonly displayed as (e.g.) sacks/pressures: 8/22. In my opinion, that would be a better measure of a defenders impact on passing plays. There are a lot of DEs who force QBs into scrambling, throwing INTs, and incompletions. Depending on the mobility of the QBs they face in a given season, the defender may not get a high number of sacks, even if he's contributing to plays that force punts. Sacks are an impressive stat, but only tell part of the story. -

WNHS? East opened my senior year but I opted to finish up at South. -
I suspect most folks here under the age of 40 won’t get the reference. 30 years ago! Wow!

It’s division title or bust (updates on non-Bills games)
SoMAn replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
My take has always been that if they need help from other games they probably aren’t good enough to win it all anyway. If they miss out on the playoffs, the Dolphins can get the first place schedule in 2024 and the Bills will jump several picks in the draft. Hoping they do win and show that they’re championship caliber. I believe they’re good enough. The keys will be not taking stupid drive-killing penalties and executing the way they did in the first matchup. And….don’t let it be so close that it’s decided by the zebras. It will be a miserable off-season if we have to wait through 8 months of ‘what could have been’ if we feel they got robbed of a win because of bad calls. -
I believe you alluded to what for me is the biggest problem with these talkshow nitwits. They can’t just be comedians and schills for promoting showbiz guests’ latest projects – they feel obligated to preach to their audience their own political views. It’s only my opinion, but I don’t find any of the current hosts particularly funny or interesting.

They still have young receivers developing in Shakir and Shorter. I’m all for using first pick on WR if it’s a stud who can complement Diggs, but we have other needs too. Use 2nd on DL that will need replenishing after the cap claims a couple linemen.

Last 4 games WR's average 107 yards total per game

The last four games, the bills have averaged one win per game. The only statistic that matters. -
Joe Brady vs Ken Dorsey- Has He Been Better?
SoMAn replied to thenorthremembers's topic in The Stadium Wall
So far, Brady hasn’t thrown papers or used his tablet for a fly swatter following a loss. -
Not really sure how effective over the air antenna is in this north Atlanta suburb because of the topography. I believe DIRECTV is actually offering to provide antennas. I’m curious to see if it would work. Assuming the previous responder is correct, it looks like we’ll be able to view the game on Peacock. Thanks to heads up from one of the TSW posters, we purchased the Black Friday special one year subscription for $19.99, so we should be able to view it there. BTW- we went for first game at the Kennesaw Anchor Bar with friends Had a great time. How did you watch? Whitehall?

Really hoping the Bills can find another receiver that could be 1A compliment to Diggs. Love Shakir, and Davis can be a threat- better than Hardy or Sherfileld. The Ravens and Dolphins are both positioned to win their respective divisions, partly because of their investments in WRs. The Bengals upped their status when having two healthy threats. Give Josh that added weapon and they’ll be deadly.

Directv is our primary provider for TV. They’re having one of those semi-regular contract disputes that cable and satellite carriers seem to have nowadays. Because of it, we haven’t had access via Directv to the local Atlanta NBC affiliate for several weeks. No idea how close they are to resolving the dispute. Can one of you answer this: does Peacock carry the Sunday Night NFL telecasts? btw- don’t need commentary on Directv. We’re long time subscribers that have an excellent 3-TV HD DVR package with Max and most cable channels for which we’re billed a whopping $60/month. They’ve been very good about negotiating low fees with us.

Week 17 - Cheats v. Bills - PREDICT THE SCORE
SoMAn replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills looking ahead to Dolphins, stupid penalties, careless with the rock, Belichick pulls out the old ‘throw long and get pass interference in red zone’ to get in FG range for winning kick in closing seconds. Bills 17 Pats 15 -
Marv is the sort of person who sets an example for goodwill, integrity,,and class. I can’t imagine anyone who’s known or dealt with him ever having a bad word to say about the man. For all the crap we’ve experienced with Buffalo sports, we’ll always have Marv to be proud of-assuming he never murders an ex wife.

Uhh, yeah, no kidding. It also wasn’t called the ‘sistern’ chapel. It’s humor. Obviously, Rembrandt was busy with Whistlers Miother. Or that guy from Depew, Jackson Polack.

If Rembrandt takes a knee before finishing the sistern chapel or forgot the wiener on the statue of David they would fire his arse! 😜

Did anyone get a lump in their throats...
SoMAn replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can’t remember an NFL game in which the desperation lateral drill tactic actually worked and resulted in a winning TD. Anyone here have a different recollection? edit: not referring to a kickoff backward pass like the Titans Wycheck thing. I was meaning a last play from the line of scrimmage with seconds remaining. -
For crying out loud, did Damien Harris die (sarcasm)?!

I’ve completely forgotten-what was the injury? Neck? -
Playoff position? Yeah, they must suck. You can just as easily say they could’ve, should’ve won a couple others in which opposition got a break or two. As the saying goes, the team is what the record shows. Considering that on defense they’re now fielding more reserves than the starting 11 from game 1, I’d say they’re doing pretty well.
-
Yes, I’m slightly worried the Bills will regress to their lackluster performances when they face inferior competition like The Chargers and Patriots. We’ll soon find out if those days are behind us or if they’ve turned the corner to play like a championship caliber team. All the ‘what if’s’ of this season are painful. We shouldn’t have to be concerned about ‘needing help’ from other AFC teams. If they blow it against either the bolts or pats, they don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. I’m not ready to start talking draft 2024. C’mon Bills. Kick some ass. Go Bills!

The Vibe of this Team feels different… to me at least
SoMAn replied to loveorhatembillsfan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall
McDermott’s ‘extremely arrogant’? He’s appears somewhat uncomfortable ‘on stage’ - when he has to address the media or large groups, but that’s just a personality trait. I’ve never seen anything from him to believe he’s arrogant. Anything but. -

SoMAn replied to loveorhatembillsfan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall
....Until they blow it to a very beatable Chargers team - then the 'Fire McDermott' chants will rise to a new level. 😜 I do agree. It feels different since Dorsey's dismissal. Is it because Dorsey's offense was contributing to losses, the firing just a wake-up call to everyone, or is Brady that much better? Are the defensive reserves who've taken the place of injured starters just finding their footing? Are player rallying around McDermott after the lambasting he received from that writer? Is it a combination of all these things? For whatever reason, it does feel different. If not for a few mishaps and an amazing 59 yard field goal in less than ideal conditions in the Eagles game, the Bills could be 4-0 since Brady took the reigns. Along the way, defeating the super bowl winner in their yard, playing solid against a defending conference champion (again, on their home turf), and beating the snot out of 'America's Team' - a serious contender for to reach this year's super bowl. The litmus test will be if they can keep it going against inferior opponents. Do they only rise to the level of the teams they're facing? If they stumble against the Chargers, it will tell me it was all just an illusion. If they continue on the current path, they could be writing a great overcoming adversity, feel-good comeback story. Go Bills! -
This will be the first game I miss in 27 years. Thanks NFL

The ‘hassle’ is relative in this instance. I like having a means to sit in my cozy living room or man cave to watch Bills games. Yeah, it’s somewhat of a hassle compared to the days of Directv Sunday ticket with a game or two on ESPN, channel 206 or the occasional major network night game. But even with the inconvenience of needing to subscribe to multiple services to see all the games, it still beats the alternative of sitting for 4 hours in uncomfortable wood chairs in a noisy sports bar that serves overpriced and poorly cooked wings. In my opinion, the pre-streaming days of Directv NFL Sunday ticket were ideal. Good DVR options, great picture, and I still much prefer rewind and fast-forward features on DTV. Streaming has its place, but it’s given the NFL new methods of forcing us to bend over if we want to see our team.
