If I'm mid-paragraph of my innocuous post on page 53 of a discussion...I'm still going pause to look up the proper spelling of Edefuan Ulofoshio before clicking, "Submit Reply." In a way, I envy the level of IDGAF needed to open a new discussion with the misspelling of a well-known former Bill's name in the title.

Even if the Pats believe that they have their QB of the future, they missed out on the opportunity to gain a boatload of picks to move down for another team to draft "their" QB of the future.

I understand that writers, and newspapers have to eat. Without compensation, they cease to exist. But I also understand that people don't want to subscribe to read an occasional article. I wonder if it would make sense to charge a small one time fee per article rather than asking for a full subscription. I don't want to subscribe either, but I'd pay a dollar to read an interesting article.

The entire team was playing to avoid injuries yesterday. I don't want Keon fighting like hell for a meaningless catch. Actually, I think the team has treated the last 3 weeks like preseason. Looks like they've been holding back. I'm not worried about Keon.

Looks like the Rams figured something out about this defense. Add to that the injuries in the secondary of this safety-centric defense and you have this poor showing.

Benford has All-Pro level numbers if you look at what opposing receivers are being held to every week. These are some good options in this poll. But Benford is my choice.

My guess is that he is essentially another safeties coach. Which is a good thing, because I worried about his neck/health every time he made a tackle last season.

Also, 30 years ago we didn't know about CTE. These are well paid athletes, sure, but they're also human beings who deserve some level of protection.

Last season, while Mahomes and the Chiefs (and their fans) were crying about the refs correctly calling back the game winning TD for false start, Kelce was giving Josh his props for a hell of a game. Even though it was Kelce's crazy impromptu lateral TD that was called back. He's a dude that respects the game. For comparison, Mahomes complained to Josh about the refs, basically telling Josh, "you just won because of the refs."

I appreciate your excellent response. Though I would mention that NFL history is replete with speedy RBs who could not translate their college success to the NFL. Often because they lack the vision or shiftiness that I suggested Samuel may lack. I liked the Samuel signing, and I'm excited to see what he can be in this evolving offense. But so far, screens to him aren't working, where screens to Shakir consistently find success. Perhaps it's lingering effects of the toe injury. I suspect we'll find out as I don't think Brady will stop running Samuel screens. I'm definitely hoping you're correct. Thank you for the discussion. No sarcasm intended.

He's fast, but I don't know that he has the shiftiness or vision to weave through traffic like Shakir does.

The screen game to Samuel has been objectively bad this season. Just because one works doesn't mean screens to him are a good idea. I like Samuel as a weapon. But seems to me his game should be short and intermediate routes. He's done much better with these than with screens. Not everything has to be an argument.

Beane likes to sign his own. Draft and develop. And these guys are all "Buffalo" guys.

As long as they stop with the screens to him. But yes, his acceleration on that TD was impressive. His toe must be getting better. Showed a lot of burst on that play.
