  1. I think he wants to be an OC one day. He was just falling down the totem pole here. I wish him the best until they play the Bills.
  2. I hear his responsibility will be to pick a play out of a hat on third and long.
  3. And he was recruited to Miami to play as a WR. He converted to DE. That's just nuts. He was always going to be a project, and it does seem like he's developing well.
  4. Agree with everything here. The slot is very mental, hopefully Beasley can mentor Shakir (who showed promise). I'd be okay with Beasley starting the season with Shakir transitioning as the season moves forward. Like you said, we need a real WR2. Hopefully a playmaker type. Gabe is a great 3 or 4. I don't see a role for dirty anymore.
  5. Considering they got away with the music city forward lateral a few years before, I think it was kind of a 🍆 move to pull this kind of special teams play. But whatever.
  6. With our cap situation and expiring contracts, we need an influx of young cheap talent. I'd love 8 or 9 picks in this draft. One of the reasons so many rookies played for the chiefs this season, besides excellent coaching, is that the team lacked depth. I think that will have to be the Bills next year.
  7. Edmunds does seem to struggle with weaving through traffic in getting to the QB. But as you said, he is great at taking away chunks of he field. His lack of splash plays is likely due to Frazier's scheme. I feel like he'd be a big play monster on the 49ers defense. While he doesn't make those big plays, he just seems to lower the overall efficiency of the opposing offense. That is incredibly valuable, as you suggest.
  8. Roseman is the best GM in the NFL. He has hit on the draft and free agency. Plus, and this is big, when his moves don't seem to be panning out, he moves on instead of stubbornly trying to make it work.
  9. This conversation has some real 2003 vibes. I'm getting terrible flashbacks of the early drought years.
  10. Mahomes has a top 3 all-time TE, a good o-line, and probably the most QB friendly offensive mind in the history of the NFL. Burrow has Chase, Higgins, Mixon, Hurst, and Boyd. Stacked offense. Rivers has 2 HOFers in Gates and Tomlinson. Allen has Diggs.
  11. He should probably hit the squat rack this off season and bulk up his lower half a bit.
  12. It seems to be a good year for interior o-line. Several good prospects expected to go in rounds 2 and 3. I'd like to use both for that and a playmaker in the 1st.
  13. This team has been winning a lot of games. Clearly, "the process" has brought playoff caliber football back to Buffalo, and for that I am grateful to McBeane. But this upcoming season is a turning point for this regime. "The process" hasn't brought championship caliber football to Buffalo. We have 3 years of getting out coached in the playoffs and seem to be getting further away from the superbowl rather than closer. Diggs reaction on the field seems to suggest that the players may be feeling the same way. He has that C on his jersey because his teammates chose him as a captain. Rumor is that he was telling Josh to not listen to the coaching and to trust what he sees. McD has shown a willingness to adapt. Frazier has not. It's too early to tell with Dorsey. But it seems that, left unchanged, the players may lose faith in "the process." McD benches players for fumbling. If he's going to keep the staff, he needs to bench his coordinators schemes a bit and get them to adapt the gameplan to their personnel.
  14. Sean "Grass on the other side" Payton.
  15. Hey, Marv. The fans wanted Haloti Ngata over Dante Whitner.
  16. I was just kidding, man. Considering some of the craziness on this board, I can see how you thought I was being serious, though.
  17. Great... now we'll never be able to re-sign Saffold on the cheap...
  18. Brown played 7 on 7 football at a small high school as a TE. Went to a small university to play tackle for 2 years I believe. Becaise of covid, he missed the whole season before he was drafted. To say he's a project would be a huge understatement. But he's one of the most athletic human beings in the entire NFL and he has a great coach. Having said that, he needs competition this year in a prove-it season.
  19. Not being snarky. This seems like hubris by Beane. I think he bought into this being a superbowl year so he drafted a potential backup for the oft injured Milano... with a 3rd round pick. I still like Beane as the gm, and it's way too early to tell, but this seems like a big, puzzling mistake.
  20. I'm a fan of Oliver. He's been pretty good. Really good at times. But every year there is just another excuse as to why he hasn't taken the step to be the dominant force we drafted him to be.
  21. Given the cap situation, it would be nice if we weren't paying people just for their special teams capabilities. Ideally your second string guys would be your primary special teams guys. But we're paying 3rd and 4th string guys like Matakevich, Taiwan, and Kumerow relatively big $ to be our ST aces. I like that Hines would be both someone who sees the field regularly on offense as well as teams.
  22. Damn you, Salgado for failing to develop our d-line and o-line, and for whiffing on all these top draft picks! All while coaching the injured safeties. Damn you!
  23. I don't mean to be disrespectful here. But this is like saying, "We don't need better defensive personnel. We just need to run the 2000 Ravens defense or the 85 Bears defense." While i agree we need to incorporate a short and intermediate passing game, we don't have the receivers for that.
