  1. Because they wouldn't need to. There's only two teams that pick before them at #4. The Jets are 100% taking a QB. That means they only have to worry about either the Giants taking Barkley or the Giants trading back with say the Bucs or Raiders and either the Bucs or Raiders take Barkley. Well, if the Giants are willing to trade, that likely means they are not taking Barkley themselves. Possible they could still take him if they don't get a trade worked out, but seems more likely they trade with someone, probably a team looking for a QB. And as for the Bucs or Raiders, I just don't see them paying the premium to move all the way up to #2 to select a RB. That cost is going to be high because of all the QB hungry teams in this draft. This would be the best thing the Browns could do. Browns should pair Garrett with Chubb for years to come.
  2. If we like a QB in the first round we will take that QB at 12, not 21. Even if that is Rudolph or Jackson. But at any rate, Browns are not taking Allen at #1.
  3. Things i don't buy to be true: 1. Browns taking Allen over Darnold. 2. Rosen dropping past 6-7. I do think the Jets take either Mayfield or Rosen.
  4. 3rd down conversion percentage in the 3rd quarter when trailing by 7 or less points. Have to have a conversion percentage of at least 43%.
  5. According to the other "Trade rumor on path to the draft" thread it will only cost us a second and a fourth to move up to #6. Yeah right. At any rate, I hope that we can pull it off however we have to. We may end up ultimately stuck at six if the giants don't want to move out, but at least we gave it our best effort. I think his name is Mike Williams.
  6. It's case by case though. Their will be a lot of suitors to trade up in this draft. Colts can easily get ask and get for a greater return in this years draft compared to others. Colts accepted 3 #2s from the Jets to just move down 3 spots. They will only ask for one 2 and one 4 to move down six spots? No way that would happen.
  7. Sure, but you realize the Colts don't get two first in this trade scenario right? They only get one second and a fourth. That's a bad return for them. We would have to send the Colts either another second round pick or a 2019 1st round pick IMO.
  8. Yeah the math is off. We would have to give up two #2's at minimum. Jets gave up thee #2s just to move up three spots. And that is with the Colts still being able to get an elite talent like Chubb, Nelson or Barkley at six. They move down to #12 and those guys are all gone.
  9. Yeah, feel like the Colts would want at least two second round picks to drop six spots.
  10. He was also leading the league in scrimmage yards one year before he broke his leg in week 12 or so. He was having an all pro season that year before the unfortunate injury.
  11. My definition of mid round would certainly include the 5th round. You got you early rounds 1 and 2, mid rounds 3-5 and late rounds, 6-7. I guess you could say we got a little bit of value because we got him at the tail end of the mid round picks?
  12. Every Bills QB the last 20 years?
  13. Yes. Any reasonable person would be upset giving up three first round picks for a RB. And that's without considering passing on a potential franchise QB.
  14. If Rosen falls to 9 the cost to trade up to get him is still going to be a lot. You'll have teams like the LA Chargers and New England potentially willing to deal out first round picks to move up to 9 at that point. Or Arizona. I realize it's only three spots for us, but the bidding war could get expensive still. 49ers will be rewarded well for being the one team inside the top 10 that is looking for quantity over quality.
  15. With each passing day I am feeling this way more and more as well. I think the problem is that most teams willing to trade down just don't want to trade out of the top 10. I also think we might do something crazy like give up four first round picks to move up to 2 or 4. Or three first round picks just to move up to 6.
  16. Barkley is the safe pick but doesn't mean it's the right pick. If the Giants truly believe in Eli and think he will be able to play at a high level for at least three more years then you could make a case for Barkley. AP was a great running back, probably the best back to come out in the last 20 years or so. But even with that being the case how many playoff games did the Vikings win with him? One? Hitting on a QB can get you to multiple Super Bowls. It's worth the risk even if you end up busting.
  17. Kicker has always been the Chargers Achilles heal for years.
  18. I want to get the guy Beane and McDermott actually covet. That means moving up to #2. Jets obviously are not moving out of #3. Trading up to only #4 or #5 guarantees you the third QB off the board at best. Possibly the 4th off the board. That means you are settling for a QB you may not even covet as much as the 1st or 2nd guy on your board. Just move to #2 and get the guy you really like. If that is Allen then so be it. Plus, at least we didn't get outmaneuvered by the Jets by moving up to #2.
  19. Don't they say Mayfield may be the most accurate QB in this draft? I'd take Mayfield #1 overall if we had the chance.
  20. If you think the QB is worthy of a first round pick, especially at 22, but you also have a pick at #12 then you just take him at #12. You don't mess around with the QB position. He's either good enough or not.
  21. LOL. Pot calling the kettle black?
  22. Mostly how I see it as well. I'd switch Cutler to Darnold's floor instead of Dalton. And put in Doug Flutie (the good one with the Bills) as Mayfield's floor.
  23. So with a better roster in Dallas he played average for the position. What makes you think he plays average in Buffalo if we retain him for one more season? He played like dog poop the two seasons prior. He had one good year with us and that's it. And as another poster mentioned, it was really only like his first 8 games or so that were good.
  24. I voted Flutie. If we are talking single season I would vote Bledsoe. But if we are talking their entire tenure with the Bills then I would rank it: 1.Flutie 2.Taylor 3.Bledsoe He was good for four games. Then I found myself actually wondering what EJ might be able to do, I think the actual moment was when he tried to scramble for a first on 4th and 2 against Denver and was stopped like two yards behind the line of scrimmage. He was going run the whole way and didn't even come close to making it. Fitz, Flutie, Taylor, Bledsoe, heck even Johnson maybe too. Too early? He was God awful his last year with us. And I don't recall him doing anything in Dallas other than being benched for Romo.
