Sony Michel’s knee “bone on bone”
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm in a similar situation at the age of 34. I don't know if I am officially bone on bone but I always have a small sensation of discomfit on the medial side of my knee throughout the day. At my last knee surgery the doctor only cleaned up the lateral side because he said there wasn't much more he could do to help the medial side. Used to play a lot of pick up basketball. That stopped almost two years ago. Just started cycling a few months ago. Much more forgiving on the knees. So far, I can cycle hard and not have any issues during or after a ride. The frustrating thing about cycling though is that it's more time consuming then just going for a quick run. To get a really good workout cycling you have to go for an hour at minimum but often more like 2 hours at least. Wasn't Myles Jack reported to have a similar issue before his draft? Dropped him to the second round I think. -
I'm fully prepared for us to get hosed in a trade with the Giants. That said, I'm totally okay with it given out draft capital and need for a franchise QB. Move up to #2 and get the guy you want. As long as that guy isn't Allen of course. Anyone of Darnold, Mayfield or Rosen will work and moving up to #2 is the only way you guarantee you get one of them. Beane is doing his best to try to bring down the price that the Giants will ask from us by saying we could easily pursue other trades to #4 or #6 and still get our guy. But ultimately, once the Giants are on the clock, if they are truly looking to move out and acquire a lot of draft capital, then I think that is what will happen.,

GMFB talk Bills draft (how to get QB)

Speaking of which... Forget about the league. The two other crappy teams in our own division aren't even as bad against them. -
GMFB talk Bills draft (how to get QB)

Read this: Bills have been owned by Brady. Your argument is that he owns every team. I disagree. He's dominated every team not named Denver or Kansas City. But as far as owning teams, goes that's clearly been us. 28-3 speaks for itself compared to 21-10 and 25-7. It's really just semantics between "owned" and "dominated" and not worth debating any longer. Moving on... -

GMFB talk Bills draft (how to get QB)

If you don't see a difference between 28-3 and the records the Dolphins and Jets have posted against Brady then I don't know what to tell you. Brady has dominated the Dolphins and Pats. He's all but owned the Bills. It is what it is. -

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BradTo00/splits/ The Bills have beaten Brady only twice in games that matter. He's 28-3 against us when he starts. Compare that to the Dolphins and Jets whom he is 21-10 and 25-7 against respectively. He's human against Denver and Kansas City, 7-6 and 4-3 winning records against them respectively. Throwing out the teams that are 0-4 and 0-5 against Brady we have the worst winning percentage against Brady. -

Can't see the Colts accepting for such little value. Switch out either 53 or 65 with 22 and I can see that trade happening. -
Beane cost us the 3rd overall pick. JMO
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to CuddyDark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think Beane over played his hand. I think the Colts simply did the smart thing. Make two teams overpay. They know they'll get greater value that way in the long run. And if in the long run they don't work out a second trade with us or another team like the Dolphins or Cardnials, they know they will still get a heck of player in Chubb, Barkley or Nelson at #6. -

Why do you say that? It seems reasonable to me for the circumstances of this draft. -
I'm starting to think the QB Class is Overhyped
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. Bills very well could have Darnold rated head and shoulders above everyone else at the position. If he were to somehow get past the Browns, Bills very well could throw everything including the kitchen sink towards the Giants in terms of trade value to move up. Talking four first round picks. Now if he isn't there at #2, they may prefer to see who falls at 12 or move up to 5-7 i f the deal is friendly to them in value. We just don't know. -

Would love that. But can't see the Browns passing on him. -
I never once considered Sanchez a guy that had the "it" factor. This coming from a USC fan. Darnold certainly has more "it" factor than Sanchez ever had IMO. The thing I like most about Mayfield is walking on two different programs and performing as well as he did at both. He had the confidence to turn down scholarship offers at smaller FBS schools because he believed in his abilities. Throw in the fact that he actually might just be the most accurate passer in this draft as well and you have all the more reason to love him as a prospect. He could be the closets thing to Drew Brees.

Work schedule this upcoming week..
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to McBean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have every other Friday off and the schedule lines up this week to where I have it off. Definitely looking forward to this draft. -
How long will you give our new QB?
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I want to say three years. But EJ got far less than that so it very well could be 1.5 years. x10 if we end up with Allen, Jackson, Rudolph or any of the lesser known QBs. -
Bills Go 7-9 this Season
Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought the same thing when Losman was taking over for Bledsoe. How could any QB do any worst than Drew's last couple of seasons with us? Well we found out it was possible. Throw in the questions marks at linebacker and O-line and who knows how we'll do in 2018. -
I sure hope Beane's draft strategy of getting a QB does not consist of "hoping". If the QB is worthy of #22 then just take him at #12. Is anyone really going to fuss about overpaying by 12 picks if we end up with a franchise QB. If Beane thinks neither is worthy of being a first round pick then that is fine too.

I love our secondary and McCoy. But honestly, that's about it. I could easily see us being bad as well. Certainly feel we are closer to a 4 win team next year then we are an 11 win team. And that previous QB at least got the benefit of playing with a really good defense. Something our most recent QB never came close to having his three seasons with us. -

Sammy Watkins' Rib replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
7-9 with a rookie or even AJ McCarron starting at QB would not be a bad season at all. 7-9 with Peterman starting at it would be an amazing season. -
Both are important but actual hand size may be more critical than grip strength. Think of it like this: Whether you have big hands, average hands or small hands, you're probably going to be able to grip a baseball no problem. A person with smaller hands may actually have a greater grip strength then someone with 10" hands. But that grips strength is dramatically decreased if you can't get most of your hand around the object you are trying to grip, such as a football or basketball. Most grip strength measurement devices I have seen are rather small, like a pistol grip type thing. No problem to get ones hands around that.
