First of all, Pegula won't fire Rex. Secondly, Rex is too good a politician to get fired at this point. He won't get fired until he goes 6-10 next year or 5-11 the year after. Rex is clearly a proven loser, but he is very clever and is a multi-millionaire even with his limited ability. Congrats Rex! Brandon never wants to admit a mistake either, so he will not push for Rex to be fired. Pegula trusts Brandon and Whaley and believes they are top shelf managers so he will listen to them (wrongly) It is too early to talk about a replacement. IMO, hiring Rex was a huge error in football terms, but successful short term as a public relations and ticket selling stunt. As long as Brandon keeps selling tickets, nothing will change.

Jim Schwartz defenses doing Jim Schwartz things
Billsguy replied to dezertbill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jim Schwartz has proven he is a very good defensive coordinator. Rex Ryan and his idiot twin brother have proven they are seriously deficient coaches. It's time to see their fat asses ride off into the sunset with piles of Pegula's money! -
Rex Told Lynn That Lynn Would Be The Next Head Coach
Billsguy replied to birdo67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rex is going to sit at home with his giant photo of Terry Pegula over the fireplace. The caption on the photo will be, "This is the billionaire I fleeced out of $25 million dollars and a few more millions for my twin brother!" Who's laughing now? -
I was wrong, and I don't mind saying it..

Help is on the way. Next year with a new head coach. Until a new coaching staff is in place, the suffering will continue. -
Buffalo Bills Fire Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman
Billsguy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've said all along that Greg Roman was grossly overrated based on his record. He needed to be fired for sure. However, the main problem for the Bills is the blowhard con man of a head coach who demonstrates over and over that he is not worthy of being a head coach in the NFL! The defense (aka the REX RYAN defense) was horrible and pathetic against the Jets. Ryan Fitzpatrick was made to look like a Hall of Fame QB. The defensive performance was a direct reflection on Rex Ryan and his idiot twin brother Rob. So what does the blowhard con man do to deflect attention away from the Ryan idiots? He fires the OC Roman! Now Ryan has changed the focus from his massive incompetence to the fired coordinator. Very clever Rex, but not all Bills fans are complete idiots. Rex Ryan is the problem!!!! Until Terry Pegula and his brown nose right hand man Russ Brandon wake up and fire this clown and his staff, the Bills are doomed to more bad to mediocre results. I said it the day Ryan was hired and I'll feel the same way the day he is fired. Ryan is a phony and a fraud and it took a sucker like Pegula to give him $25+ million dollars. BTW, the Jets acquired Brandon Marshall for a 5th round pick. They got Matt Forte for free. This is what a smart GM does. Conversely, the Bills used three 1st round picks to draft Sammy Watkins and EJ Manuel. Charles Clay is one of the highest paid tight ends in the NFL thanks to Doug Whaley. Why? He is a fringe player at best. Doug Whaley doesn't have much to brag about as GM. He needs to get fired also. -
It's not a matter of "if Rex Ryan gets fired", but it's a matter of "when Rex Ryan gets fired." He and his idiot brother will never win at the top level. He hires an offensive coordinator who is just as mediocre as he is. What do you expect from poor coaching and leadership? Look at their records and the evidence is clear: these are not winning coaches. Until the coaching improves dramatically, don't expect different results.

Get over it!

Don't expect Rex or Whaley to be fired in the offseason
Billsguy replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perfectly stated. Rex Ryan has proven he loses more games than he wins as a head coach throughout his NFL career. Why would anyone want a proven loser to remain for the sake of continuity? -
The Nattering Nabobs of Negativity
Billsguy replied to racecitybills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly. LOL! It didn't work for Spiro Agnew and it's not working still. One of the benefits of being an ex-pat WNYer is that you can see things more clearly. Living inside the bubble of local media can cloud your thinking. Criticism (or negativity if you like) can be useful if justified. The endless drone of fans who find no fault in anything managers or coaches or players do is just as useless and abrasive as fans who can only find negatives. Sometimes both credit and blame are deserved. I think real fans can express themselves either way. It doesn't mean you're not a Bills fan if, for example, you think the Bills hired a douche bag head coach and his idiot twin brother. Somebody will always be irritated regardless. Agnew thought Viet Nam was a good idea. Oh, those nattering nabobs!!! -
RD 1, Pick 19: DE Shaq Lawson, Clemson University
Billsguy replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am curious why the medical staff cleared him before the draft and now the medical staff decides he needs surgery. What changed? -
It's been used elsewhere for a couple years now. It's nice to know the Bills are slowly catching up to the rest of the world.

Watkins absent for start of voluntary workouts
Billsguy replied to BarleyNY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd rather go to a casino than go to work any day. How can you blame Sammy for hanging out in a casino when he could be with his team? He needs time to unwind and relax. Maybe he can catch up to Johnny Manziel and pick up some pointers from him? I don't know why everyone is so concerned. You really have to work on your moves as you weave through the crowds in a casino! Sammy is just fine tuning his moves among the cocktail waitresses and gamblers. No problem. -
The NFL will definitely schedule three home games for the Bills in December. NFL to Buffalo, "Screw you!"

Titans Trade #1 Overall Pick to the Rams
Billsguy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Titans just fleeced the Rams. What a horrible trade for the Rams!!! You would think they would know better after they had done the same thing to Washington a few years ago. You don't trade away a large chunk of your future on a BIG question mark! Idiots! -
Will the Bills make the playoffs this year?
Billsguy replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Way too early!!!! Too many variables at this time. Ask again in late August. -
Kudos to Doug Whaley. He puts the Bills in cap hell and they still don't make the playoffs. The best of both worlds Doug!
-
You can only say that one factor wins championships if you can control for all the other variables and then do the applicable statistical analysis for signficance. Since this is impossible, the argument is moot. These simplistic arguments like "defense wins championships" or "you need a franchise QB to win" or whatever "fill in the blank" you want are pointless and fruitless arguments best left for people with nothing better to do with their lives. The best you can say is that defense, offense and special teams are important. How do you like that as another useless topic? Maybe someone will start another thread about it?

I think the most interesting thing to consider is that the Broncos drafted Von Miller because they finished the 2010 season at 4-12. The Bills also finished 2010 at 4-12. After finishing with the same record in 2010, look at the difference between the two teams since then. The Broncos have gone 58-22 in the regular season (W% .725) and the Bills have gone 35-45 (W% .438) over the same time period. The Broncos have won the AFC twice in five years and have won the Super Bowl. The Bills have not even made the playoffs. Some teams know what they are doing and some teams don't. It is no coincidence that the same teams are at or near the top every year and vice versa! Unfortunately, I see no reason to feel optimistic about the current Bills management because they are responsible for hiring the latest Bills travesty: Rex Ryan (factually, a proven loser).

Sully column implies Rex is stealing the Pegula's money
Billsguy replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Correction: Rex Ryan and Rob Ryan are stealing Peguls's money! Rex found a way to get even more cash from Pegula by hiring his incompetent idiot twin brother. I can picture the two of them sitting on some beach in a couple of years drinking beer and reminiscing about how they bamboozled a billionaire out of $30 million dollars. Sweet deal for two boobs! -
This is just what the Bills needed. The Rex Ryan debacle just got worse. He hires his idiot brother as assistant head coach. He hires the defensive coordinator who oversaw the worst defense in the history of the NFL! WTF!!!! I was hoping the Pegulas were smarter people. Apparently, I was wrong.

Do you think our defense will be better or worse this year?

Do you think our defense will be better or worse this year?

Thanks for digging up this old post. I wish people took more ownership of the things that say and write. -
I think everybody should avoid any thoughts or opinions that might not agree with your own opinions. By keeping a closed mind to new thoughts and ideas, life is much simpler and less stressful. Why would you ever consider reading or listening to a dissenting opinion... EVER! I can see no point in considering any other opinion than my own. This what makes America great. Form an opinion based on fact or fiction (it doesn't seem to matter) and stick to that opinion regardless of any factual evidence or reason! Just keep drinking the Kool-Aid and live in blissful ignorance.
