  1. I know the Bills faithful are foaming at the mouth to get a top two (or top 5 at the worst) to draft a QB. My worst fear is that the Bills trade away 3 or 4 potential starters (i.e. high draft picks) to draft an unknown commodity in this year's draft. The Bills are clearly desperate and scared. GM Beane reeks of desperation. Desperate men usually make bad decisions that are regrettable in the long run. They are desperate to draft ahead of the Jets. This is a recipe for disaster. We are not talking about drafting Peyton Manning here, but rather a group of equally matched flawed prospects. This would be an epic gamble and the cost of failure could be huge and lasting. The Bills panicked with Rob Johnson, EJ Manuel, Drew Bledsoe, and Sammy Watkins to name a few. Panic and desperation are the enemies of clear thinking. If Beane pulls the trigger and empties the draft cupboard to select one of these top draft eligible QB's, I think the Bills organization will regret it in the long run. This decision could set the Bills back several more years. Beane may build a champion, but it will be the team he trades with and not the Bills. My suggestion would be to remain at 12 and see where the chips fall. My guess is that a very good QB prospect may still be there. Lamar Jackson is very possible. If not, how about a top linebacker or lineman or WR. The Bills have numerous holes to fill and giving away all their top picks on a gamble is not a high percentage play. Please keep calm Mr. Beane and think long term. I know this won't be popular, but I think it is the right thing to do.
  2. Exactly how does everyone see this as some great victory? I know it saves salary cap space, but this is an epic fail! The number 3 overall pick in 2011 and the Bills get a 6th round pick. The top six picks in the 2011 draft were Cam Newton, Von Miller, Marcel Dareus, A.J. Green, Patrick Peterson and Julio Jones. The Panthers got a franchise QB, Broncos got an all-time great linebacker pass rusher, The Bengals and Falcons got elite WR's and the Cardinals got an elite CB. The Bills got virtually nothing!!!! The Doug Whaley era was a monumental failure and now the purge has continued under the new regime. This is not a great deal. It is an admission of another major failure.
  3. I think anything is possible. I didn't give them any chance before the season, but I was pleasantly surprised to see them win a couple early games. It will be very difficult because they have the worst receiving corps in modern history. The defense has been keeping them competitive. The team has some serious flaws and it is highly unlikely they are a playoff team this year.
  4. Jim Kelly lives up Trump's ass. I have no respect for his opinion.
  5. Congrats to the Bills on a fine effort today. I like the attitude the new head coach is instilling in this team. Tyrod was so elusive. Defense was stout again. Well done Bills!
  6. Remember the opening game of the season in 2003? The Bills beat the Patriots 31-0 !!! Remember all the hype and fanfare that happened the week after that game? It was all useless jibberish. The Bills went on to finish the season 6-10 and the Patriots won the Super Bowl. If you draw any conclusions from the Bills beating the worst team in football in week one of the 2017 season then you have no concept of reality!
  7. Agreed 100% I'll bet you can find people on the NY Jets board who think they have a chance at the playoffs. Delusion is everywhere! The Bills currently have the worst receiving corps in the league and are a McCoy hamstring away from the worst RB corp in the league. And the QB situation is comical. Which team are you talking about? Seriously dude?
  8. Can you tell me which teams went undefeated in the pre-season? Breaking news: the pre-season means nothing!!!!!
  9. Up close it looks OK, but on TV I feel the logo bison will disappear from view. It's not a smart move to have your logo become invisible!.
  10. Whaley was a proven failure. No, he is not missed! The new regime is on their way to proving it, but we won't know for 2-3 years. After a 3-13 season they may be off to a good start though. Embrace the TANK !!!!
  11. Embrace the Tank! I honestly feel bad for the people who buy tickets to see this team. It is going to be a long season. The tank is underway, but the Bills may be playoff contenders in 3-4 years. All they need on offense is a top QB, a top RB to replace the retired McCoy, two starting WR's, and a TE. What's the problem? Maybe in 4 years Brady and Belichik will retire.
  12. New slogan for the Bills "One Bills Drive: Where Hope Goes to Die"
  13. If you were paying attention (which obviously you were not) he was protesting injustice in America. His protest was meant to bring attention to this injustice. This protest is about as American as you can get. It's called freedom of speech. It is patently un-American to deny someone a freedom granted by the Bill of Rights. It is a patriotic thing to want to improve the country and remove injustice where it exists. The Founding Fathers of our country were patriots because they fought against the injustices imposed on them by the King of England. If you want to be upset about something maybe you should consider the widespread ignorance and hatred in the country. On the football side, he is better than many of the QB's in the league who are on rosters already, including the Bills.
  14. Short term the trade is a negative. Longer term the trade has the potential to be positive. The Bills are clearly looking to the future. The outlook for 2018 is to draft a top QB in the top 5 of the draft. As a result, Tyrod Taylor will be history. It will take the new QB a couple years to get enough seasoning to be effective. The Bills playoff drought might end around 2020 if things go well. The Bills have carved out a place in NFL history for futility. Go Bills!
  15. The Bills got cheaper players. Yeah? Are the Bills better? NO! TANK! TANK! TANK!
  16. TANK!!! TANK!!!! TANK!!! THE TANK IS BACK!!! What a massive failure Doug Whaley's time with the Bills turned out to be.
  17. My first impression of trading away Watkins and Darby is utter shock and disappointment. I am not against the trades, but the return seems pathetic and inadequate. I thought at least a 1st round pick would be involved. WTF!
  18. I was thinking about the same thing. So far, Watkins' mouth runs faster than his broken down legs. Give me a break Sammy! How about re-structuring your contract so that you get paid for your on field production. Welcome to the $100,000 per year club. WTF has he accomplished? Nothing - what a fool!!!
  19. I totally agree. What a couple of a$$holes!
  20. Whaley deserved to be fired. He was judged on his record. He put the Bills in a salary cap jam and failed to deliver the goods. He hired the disastrous Rex Ryan, he was front and center in drafting EJ Manuel, he traded two first round picks for Sammy Watkins, he signed Charles Clay to a ridiculous contract, etc. There are so many examples to illustrate his failures. Why would anyone be sad he is gone. He produced absolutely ZILCH! Hopefully, the next GM will build a winner. The Bills will be paying for Whaley's blunders for a couple years, but it was clearly time to move on. I'm not sold on McDermott at all, but I'll give him a chance to prove something. I would think the Bills will be about 6-10 or 7-9 next year at this point.
  21. The same thing crossed my mind. Progress? The Bills saved money, but did they get any better? The fact that Whaley put them in salary cap hell had a lot to do with some key decisions. What next? Draft a RB to replace Gillislie?
  22. I prefer this trade to the Watkins trade by a lot! Only because the Watkins trade was bad. I disliked the Watkins trade at the time and I still think it was a huge mistake. It remains to be seen who the Bills draft at 27. Fingers crossed. Wasn't it Doug Whaley who said the Bills were always in draft purgatory? Well this time he bought his own ticket to purgatory. Who will he blame now? Does he think the Bills will get another top 10 pick next year? Maybe he does.
