Watkins biggest obstacle is Greg Roman. He has a brutal record coordinating a passing offense. It's true. Look up his record. Pathetic.

Pegulas announce Rex and Whaley will return in 2016
Billsguy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't believe this is a surprise to anyone. Pegula has invested a fortune in Rex Ryan and he is unwilling to write off over 25 million dollars after one year. I think Pegula knows in his heart that he hired the wrong guy, but it's terribly hard on a billionaire's ego to admit publicly that he got swindled by a carnival barker like Ryan. Pegula will learn his lesson the hard way just like he did with the Sabres. He will stick with this loser a little too long to save face then he will wake up to reality. It takes a couple years for most owners to recognize their errors. Ryan was a gigantic error. The five year contract was silly given that Ryan has a losing record as a head coach. I can't blame this one on Ralph, but the story remains the same. -
Jets--they really aren't much, if at all better than Bills
Billsguy replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It never ceases to amaze me how many excuses losers find for losing. Over the last 16 seasons, the Bills have had easy schedules and few injuries on occasion, but they still haven't made the playoffs. Some top teams have had the hardest schedules and have been decimated by injuries and yet they still find a way to win. Why is that? Have the Patriots had any tough schedules since 2000? Yes. Have they had serious injuries? Yes. How do they manage to win every year? Just luck? Bills fans need to stop with the whining and excuse making! The Jets this year have been better than the Bills. Period. No excuses. The Patriots have been better every year. The are several reasons, but the big ones are that the leadership of every organization. The GM and coaches did a better job with New England and the Jets this year than the Bills and Miami did! The Bills and Dolphins had bad coaching compared to the two top teams in the division. It is not that complicated. Rex Ryan and his staff failed. The Miami staff failed miserably. If Bills fans keep living in denial and think Rex Ryan will make this team a winner then they are deluding themselves. If Bills fans keep living in denial and think that easy/tough schedules or injuries are the reasons for another failed year then they are deluding themselves. It really is pathetic to blame outside factors for this organization's failure. Wake up Bills fans! The damage is self inflicted. If Bill Belichik could have personally selected a bad coach for the Bills to hire last year he would have had a hard time selecting a worse one than Rex Ryan! -
Hiring another Ryan would be the ultimate insult to all Bills fans. The Ryan the Bills already have is a complete failure. Why would the Bills want another one? Insanity!

They leave DeAngelo Williams off the team and select McCoy? Wow!

Some fun predictions from the past.
Billsguy replied to FireChan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is really a funny post. Funny as in interesting. I've posted quotes of past predictions before with screen names and the very people who posted their ridiculous predictions or thoughts refuse to acknowledge them. Just like politicians, they try to hide from their past. Go back to the days after the Rex Ryan hiring and read the posts. Hilarious how the masses were duped by Ryan and his stream of BS. Many of those people are still defending Ryan today. Yikes! Even with hindsight they still can't admit it was them who wrote those very comments. Go back and read them to see for yourself. Take a look at the season predictions posts. Also hilarious. 12-4 or 11-5 predictions were commonplace. The Bills were going to dethrone the Patriots. Go back and read them for yourself. Some of the posters have over 10,000 or 20,000 or more posts and it shouldn't be hard to find them. Why do they never confess how wrong they were? Go back to the post that asked how much better the defense was going to be under Ryan vs. Schwartz. The majority said the defense was going to dominate the league under Ryan. What happened to those posters? Did they disappear? I understand human nature enough to realize that admitting mistakes is hard to do. If you go back and read the posts from August and September you might see how mass hysteria can cloud your judgment. In hindsight, the blind baseless optimism that followed the hiring of Rex Ryan was unfounded in logic or history. It is very informative to read those old posts. It helps you to spot the differences between emotional overreactions and rational analysis. Unfortunately, in a forum like this, emotions dominate reason. -
Many of you people are focusing on the bread in the toaster and are not aware that the house is on fire. QB is not the main problem now. GM and coaching are where the wheels have fallen off.

The last time this team was great was under Marv Levy and Bill Polian! Without smart leadership, it doesn't matter who the QB is. Get your priorities straight before you B word about the QB. The biggest problem is at the higher levels. The reason this team failed this year is overwhelmingly due to the horrible coaching!!! Ryan and Roman could make Aaron Rodgers a chump! Ryan turned a fearsome top ranked defense into mush! Worrying about the QB first is putting the cart before the horse! Here is the priority list: 1. Owner Pegulas: going nowhere 2. President Brandon: brown nose ticket seller going nowhere 3. GM Whaley: mixed results, bad overpowered the good 4. Head Coach Ryan: epic fail, continues to be a loser 5. Asst coaches: failed miserably, look at the proof 6. Players: mixed results, but the players only are as good as those instructing them (see above) The foundation (steps 3,4,5) must be strong before deciding on the roster (that includes QB!!!). Right now the foundation between the owner and the players is on very shaky ground. This should be the focus.

I'VE HAD IT WITH REX RYAN!!!
Billsguy replied to Buffalo Beeeews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The biggest mistake the Bills made was hiring Rex Ryan (aka "Buffalo Buffoon") At least Russ Brandon found a way to sell tickets! He's great at selling tickets, but he's awful fielding an organization that can win football games. Look at his record as club president. The people he has hired have failed miserably, but the Pegulas love him. If Terry and Kim are happy, then it's a closed case. More Brandon, more Rex Ryan and more losing! Renew your season tickets now!!! -
EJ deserves time on the field with first team offense.

Lacanfora:Showdown could be brewing b/w Whaley,coaches
Billsguy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Greg Roman has been a big disappointment so far. Do you watch the games? He killed the development of Colin Kaepernick with San Fran. The situation got progressively worse the longer he was there. Under Roman, the 49er pass offense was pathetic. They ranked consistently at the very bottom of the league. In his best year, the passing ranked only 23rd. Sad, but true. The other three years they ranked 29th and 30th twice. Horrible! Overall, the offense never ranked in the top 10 and three years they ranked no better than 20th. His play calling in big games for SF was equally pathetic. Based on history, the alleged dispute between Whaley and Roman is a recipe for disaster regarding Sammy Watkins. Whaley put his career on the line by over paying for Watkins and now he has an offensive coordinator who has a passing offense track record that sucks! If I had to choose I would keep Whaley and dump this inept coaching staff led by the idiot Ryan and his incompetent assistants. The record shows Ryan and Roman are unacceptable options going forward. Whaley could draft a star QB and Roman would ruin him. -
Should the Bills "tank" in 2017 or 2018 to get a QB?
Billsguy replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod Taylor can play quarterback. This team needs a franchise coaching staff. The head buffoon needs to be replaced ASAP. It still amazes me how Rex Ryan can talk and joke his way out of his demonstrated incompetence time and time again. As long as people keep drinking the Kool-Aid, Rex will be secure. Sooner or later fans will see that the Emperor has no clothes. (I know it won't happen because Brandon, Whaley and Pegula would have to admit their mistakes!) -
If we make playoffs, we'll make it to the SB

How did the NY Jets get so much better and the Bills go nowhere since last year? I've read a few of the lengthy excuses posted above and they don't hold water. Just excuses for losing! The Jets, under buffoon Rex Ryan, were 4-12 last year. Now Ryan is leading the Bills to an under performing season. For example, he has taken a very good defense and turned it into an average defense. Doug Whaley, the much loved GM on TBD, is getting all the credit for all his "great" moves. I don't buy it. He hasn't done so great. Comparing the Jets and the Bills here is what both teams did to acquire a #1 wide receiver. The Whaley Bills traded two 1st round draft picks to pick up Sammy Watkins. The Jets, coming off a 4-12 season with no top receiver, traded a 5th round pick to the Bears for Brandon Marshall. Here are the 2015 stats for both receivers: Watkins 39 receptions, 716 yards, 7 TD, 86 yards after catch. Marshall 89 receptions, 1187 yards, 11 TD, 297 yards after catch [i'm not even emphasizing the fact that Whaley could have had Odell Beckham Jr. if he was such a genius.] How did these moves work out for both teams in 2015? Jets GM Mike Maccagnan made a great move getting Marshall for only a 5th rounder. Whaley made NO such great move! The Jets are 8-5 and the Bills are 6-7. If the Bills "leadership" under Whaley and Ryan is so great, why have they been passed by the Jets with a rookie head coach and a perennial back-up QB leading them? My answer is the Jets GM/Head coach tandem is better than the Bills GM/Head coach. Do you think the Jets are sad that they fired Ryan and Buffalo hired him? They are jumping for joy. Not only did they hire a better coach, but they dumped their garbage in Buffalo! New England will never have to worry about the Bills with Whaley/Ryan making the decisions!!! Stop living in fantasyland. Stop making excuses. The record shows these two have failed repeatedly.

Tyrod Taylor and the Heroic Run to 7-9
Billsguy replied to UBBullsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First of all, do you know the statistics of the QB's that Rex Ryan has coached? My guess is that you have NO clue! The Jets went to the AFC championship in spite of Ryan, not because of him. Look what he did to the QB's with the Jets. As head coach of the Jets, Ryan's QB's were among the worst in the league- consistently. He didn't do anything to "coach them up". Nothing. Prior to Buffalo, his QB's had an average QB rating of about 70. To put that in perspective, in 2015 only the pathetic Nick Foles has a worse rating at 69. Prior to Buffalo, his QB's had an average QBR of about 33. To put that in perspective, in 2015 only the pathetic Nick Foles has a worse QBR rating at 30. His QB's with the Jets had more interceptions than touchdowns. He took over the head coaching job from Eric Mangini and as a result the offensive production of the Jets got worse under his coaching tenure! The offense not only got worse, but the defense got much worse as time went by. All his trends were going in the wrong direction. The Bills mistakenly hired a guy on a steep downturn. Rex Ryan also guided the Jets into irrelevancy by 2014 when he led them to a brilliant 4-12 season. Tyrod Taylor has skills which need proper guidance, but he won't get it from Ryan. Rex is a proven failure with QB's. Look at his record before defend this clown! -
I thought is was a mistake the very second I heard he was hired. I have no reason to change my mind. He has proven he is still a losing head coach.
-
Rex Ryan is a proven loser. He has coached well over 100 NFL games as head coach and he still has a losing record. What else do you need to know? Why all the love for Whaley? He paid triple what Charles Clay was worth. He paid double for Sammy Watkins and he has a coaching staff that refuses to pass him the ball. He was instrumental in drafting EJ Manuel in the 1st round. How many HUGE mistakes can he make before people see he has failed? And most of all, the Bills likely extend their non-playoff streak to historic levels!!! Seriously, what else do you need to know?

Tyrod Taylor and the Heroic Run to 7-9
Billsguy replied to UBBullsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Have you heard of coach killer quaterbacks? You know, the QB is so bad that he gets the coach fired. Well, the Bills have just the opposite. The Bills have Rex Ryan, the quarterback killing coach. The horrible coaching of Greg Roman and Rex Ryan would kill almost any QB and prevent them from being successful. Rex Ryan's history proves how inept he is. Terry Pegula made a $25 million dollar mistake hiring this loud mouth buffoon! Tyrod Taylor could be a star QB with better coaching and offensive game plans. -
The website used age to compare the players which I believe is a total mistake. The key factor should be experience (i.e. games played). Taylor has shown promise, but he is far from earning a monster contract. Some of the comparisons played in Super Bowls and conference championships. This lumping of Taylor into the mix is a joke! If the premise is in error, then the conclusion based on the faulty premise is erroneous. This is a poor argument for paying Taylor $21 million per year. Garbage in, garbage out.

Who Has The Biggest Ego In The NFL ??
Billsguy replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rex Ryan for football. (Donald Trump for the rest of the known universe.) -
The Bills had no QB last year and the defense was much much better. Your argument doesn't hold water. The coaching of the defense last year was superior to this year. Period. Rex Ryan and his idiot twin brother have made a reputation as defensive specialists that is largely fiction. Jim Schwartz was a much better defensive coordinator than the current regime. The Pegulas erred big time hiring Rex Ryan. You would think Ryan was a rookie head coach with all the tactical and strategic errors that occur every game. What idiot drops Marcel Dareus into pass coverage? Seriously, how can people defend his ineptitude? Smart wins, stupid loses! This is why has Ryan been a career loser!
-
Hopkins has been targeted 137 times. Watkins has been targeted 38 times. Hopkins has caught 76 balls. If Watkins had been targeted at the same rate, he would project to 90 receptions. This is another example of horrible coaching and tactics from Rex Ryan and Greg Roman. You can't win with talented players if you have inferior coaching, but you can win with superior coaching. The Bills erred massively hiring Rex Ryan!
