  1. Great guy, but the time is running out on Fred Jackson. He's the oldest running back in the entire league. As they say, "Father Time is undefeated" Nobody hates Fred Jackson, just the opposite, but let's face reality.
  2. You are absolutely right. Whaley put the team in purgatory by drafting EJ Manuel. The next year he drafts a WR instead of a QB. He also traded away the 1st round choice the following year to draft that receiver. He is the master of his own fate and now he says the team is in QB purgatory. What a dumbass. Is he trying to totally rip his own QB's in public? This is sheer genius! Whaley causes the mess and then cries in his beer.
  3. It wasn't Maybin's fault the Bills drafted him in the 1st round. He just wasn't good enough. The Bills management deserves ALL the blame!!! Where are those bums now? There's more to life than the NFL.
  4. Rex Ryan said he wanted bullies. He's got them! Maybe he's been chatting with Incognito?
  5. It depends where you shop for odds. There is no single Vegas line. It is different from place to place. I've seen the Bills no better than 10th to win the AFC. This link has them 5th currently. http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/futures/
  6. If the Bills had a legitimate QB then 11-5 would be possible. Without one, highly unlikely!
  7. How can anybody declare a winner of a trade when neither player has played a single down for their respective teams? You can't! What a ridiculous post.
  8. Meh Blah WTF? Your choice. If the Bills were a track team I'd be excited, otherwise I'm not pleased.
  9. Let's say you bought a house for $400K and you are proud of your new house, but the market value is only $250K. Does that mean you have a bad house? No, of course not. You just overpaid unnecessarily. I am convinced this is what Whaley did last year. He overpaid! This is a short term strategy that usually backfires in the long run. Remember it was Whaley who was instrumental in drafting Manuel. The subsequent trade to draft Watkins was an attempt to save the Manuel selection as being a total waste. His first mistake made him reach for his second mistake. The Bills justified the trade to provide weapons for EJ Manuel. They could have acquired other WR's to accomplish the same thing and kept their 1st and 4th round picks this year. IMO, they would have received more value taking one of the other WR's available last year and drafting a top offensive lineman in the 1st round this year. The idea that the trade was made to help Manuel was rejected by the Bills themselves when they benched him for the rest of the season. If your premise is faulty, so will be your conclusion.
  10. The argument is not about Sammy Watkins being good or having the potential to be very good. This is not a referendum on Watkins as is repeatedly argued by many. The argument is about priorities and value. The Bills had other more important priorities than WR and they paid way too much!
  11. No. If you dig below the shiny public relations crap, you will see the NFL is dirty and filthy greedy. Why don't all the owners pay for their own stadiums even though they can afford it? Get the taxpayers to subsidize them. Simple greed.
  12. I would allow the local communities to buy the franchise from the billionaires. Green Bay is publicly owned, but the NFL wants to keep the ownership in the Billionaire Old Boys Club and prevent the fans from owning their own team. The current situation allows the billionaires to blackmail the local taxpayers into financing new stadiums for them or threaten to move the team to a different city. The NFL is in the greed and extortion business.
  13. Just when you thought you have seen everything... a post like this comes along! Yikes!!!
  14. Who cares? It is a pointless argument at this moment. However, 5-11 would be an improvement for Rex Ryan over last year.
  15. It's way too early. Do you know who will be the starting QB? Do you know if Rex Ryan will repeat his 4-12 disaster from last year or has he learned from his numerous mistakes handling questionable QB's? It's way too early.
  16. Would you trade Odell Beckham Jr. AND a 1st round pick for Sammy Watkins? Doug Whaley did. How is that for a new poll question?
  17. This reminds of innumerable QB's of the past who looked All-Pro in workouts, but failed in games. I remember rave reviews about Todd Collins in workouts. It is meaningless unless it's in a real game.
  18. How many ways can you say, "NO!" How many ways can you say WTF?
  19. Best moves are when you can add assets at a reasonable cost. A basic cost/benefit analysis to assess the ratio of potential benefit to actual cost. As such, adding Matt Cassel provides the potential for the most benefit for a low cost. Adding free agents for a modest cost would rank second. Felton and Harvin fall into this category. I'm dubious of Incognito to be sure. Keeping your own valuable free agents would come next, i.e. Jerry Hughes. The worst moves are the reverse when you risk too much for the expected benefit. It is hard to say which moves fit into this category. Losing Spiller for nothing might have been a mistake long term. Trading away a young potential All-Pro linebacker might be a mistake long term too. Hiring a loser head coach from the Jets (4-12 last year) was another big risk. We don't know yet how these moves will pan out. The trade for McCoy and the signing of TE Clay both were high risk because the cost was so high for them. They may turn out to be excellent moves, but that remains to be seen. The Bills are obviously frustrated by the last 15 years of futility and failure, so it is refreshing to a lot of fans to see them making bold risky moves to turn the franchise around. Time will tell. What is for sure is that the Bills probably have sold more tickets for per victory than any team in the league this century.
  20. Correct. The NFL is an organization run by millionaires for the benefit of billionaires (owners). The NFL calls all the shots and DirecTV can do nothing about it!
