Lions kicker should get the game ball from the Bills. Sammy Watkins miraculous catch turns Orton from the goat to the savior. The standings don't lie, but the current euphoria might be premature. I think expectations should be realistic.

I believe Terry Pegula is smart enough to realize that the current management (and coaching) is a disaster. I agree with you that the team has been set back several years by using three 1st round draft picks to draft EJ Manuel and Sammy Watkins. Blunders like these can set a team back many years. Where is the logic selecting a WR for two 1st round picks when you don't have a QB who can get him the ball?

How low has the bar been set when Bills fans are begging for a failed journeyman QB (Orton) to start over a failed 1st round draft pick (Manuel) in the search for basic competency? OUCH! What would happen if the Bills actually had a quality QB again? I know it has been 20 years or so since the last quality QB and I hope I live long enough to see the next one. What I do know is that the current QB situation is woeful.

EJ Manuel should be forced to play every down of every game until the Bills management realize they have made a terrible mistake. EJ is not the QB of the present or future. Frankly, EJ is a coach killer. Any coach who thinks they can teach EJ the instincts and intangibles to be a top QB will surely sink with the EJ Titanic. How many failures must the Bills endure before they get it right? I hope Terry Pegula searches high and low for top quality management who will hire top quality coaches and staff to replace this amateur operation.

Too early to tell, but after watching him in pre-season, he is already way ahead of EJ Manuel in every way. He looked very good.

Orton is not a quality NFL QB. Please don't look to him as some kind of savior! The bar has been set so low in Buffalo that mediocre now looks satisfactory. The new owner has the power to be the Bills' savior, not the current circle of clowns!

It is easy to criticize the bashers of EJ Manuel. The core problem is that EJ Manuel has played poorly. Don't criticize the messengers. Solution: EJ Manuel starts playing like an NFL QB by producing results on the field. Result: EJ plays well and the bashing will go away! It's a miracle! The media are bandwagon jumpers. Play well and they jump on, play badly and they jump off.

Actually it was Buddy Nix. The Bills traded Kelvin Sheppard to the Colts on April 29,2013. Buddy Nix was the GM. Doug Whaley was named the new GM on May 16, 2013. It was a good trade, but it was also Nix who drafted Sheppard. Win some, lose some!

Buddy Nix actually came out ahead on this deal. Good for Buddy! What do you want? A parade? The Colts GM also gave a 1st round pick for Trent Richardson. These trades may say more about the Colts stupidity than anything else.

Incompetence runs rampant at One Bills Drive. The glimmer of hope for Bills fans is that a new owner is imminent. Bills fans can hope for an owner who hires professionals. A serious top notch club CEO or president who hires an experienced GM with a winning track record. The new GM will hire a head coach with the same attributes. The current management is a joke. Russ Brandon has no football pedigree. He is largely an empty suit. Doug Whaley is inexperienced and hasn't proven he is a legit NFL GM. Doug Marrone looks like a high school coach. The coaching staff, with a couple exceptions, is way under-qualified. (i.e. offensive coordinator) New owner = clean house = hope for the future!!!

You are correct, Sir! He doesn't pass the eyeball test or the smell test. I don't see a quality NFL QB in Manuel no matter how hard I squint or hold my nose. Isn't he supposed to bring something to the table? Why does every Bills QB have to be some massive re-construction project from the ground up? It's ridiculous how blind people are when they can't admit a mistake has been made. Why aren't the Bills looking for a veteran QB to school the newbie? The fact that the Bills have Tuel and Lewis as backups just shows how inept this organization really is! The new owner can't get here soon enough. The house needs a total cleaning.
