  1. Rex Ryan is not a good head coach. His record proves it after many years. He is still a sub .500 coach. His teams are not well organized and they lack discipline. The game management is in disarray at times and the clock management is brutal. Time outs are wasted routinely. He seems to lack the necessary intelligence and tactics to remedy these errors after many years. Pegula has wasted a lot of money on this blowhard buffoon of a coach! Ryan has been a clown for years (and he is proud of it) and there is no reason to believe he will change his unsuccessful ways now. He gets all the publicity, but he rarely backs it up on the field. p.s. The offensive coordinator is vastly overrated too.
  2. It was an ugly game played in which neither team really deserved to win. It is easy to see why New England has dominated the division for 15 years. They play smarter period. The victory was achieved in spite of the Bills coaching and not because of it. I could list at least 10 egregious (avoidable) errors that the Bills coaches committed. What team blows all their timeouts by the beginning of the 4th quarter? Inexcusable! Fortunately, the Jets were terrible too! The turnovers were decisive. In the end, it is a victory, but the Bills have massive room for improvement in the coaching department. At times the players on the field looked totally confused from the lack of direction coming from the sidelines. If the team hopes to progress, this team needs better discipline, organization and leadership. BTW, the TV coverage (before and during the game) was horrible. It was like a Rex Ryan documentary. Pure overkill by the media.
  3. John Miller is getting destroyed at left guard!!!
  4. I think everyone should take note that the rating posted was done by PFF the first week of October. Things have changed since then.
  5. How did that Marshawn Lynch thing work out for them?
  6. You are correct!!! What the heck is Watkins "thinking?" It is not a good strategy to belittle the fans that support your team and pay your salary. As someone who has contributed virtually nothing to the Bills thus far in his career, he might consider being quiet. If Watkins wants to silence the critics then he should produce on the field. If he succeeds, the critics will disappear. If he remains on the trainer's table the rest of his career and keeps making idiotic comments by himself (or through his agent) then he will have a miserable time in this league. Many people believe it was a mistake to spend two 1st round picks to draft him. Watkins is doing his best to prove them to be correct.
  7. The first step in your recovery is to admit you have a problem. You will never be well until you can face your denial. EJ Manuel is not now, nor ever will be, a quality NFL QB. Move on already!!!
  8. When will Doug Whaley stop posting these, "in defense of EJ" threads? It's getting old Doug. Just admit that drafting EJ Manuel in the 1st round was a huge mistake and move on. The Bills organization blew it by drafting him. It's now a matter of cutting your losses.
  9. Sammy "China Doll" Watkins has been a huge disappointment. This organization has missed the playoffs for 15 years or so because of bad decisions like drafting a WR (after trading two 1st round picks to move up 5 places) when (at the time) you didn't even have a legit NFL QB. As an organization, it is hard to overcome huge mistakes like Watkins and Rex Ryan and expect success.
  10. The NFL's main objective is to separate as much money as possible from as many people as possible.
  11. The acquisition was reversed on an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty!!!
  12. Yes indeed. I prefer to call him a snake oil salesman. His colorful personality and his ability to charm the media and fans have obscured the fact that he is not a very good head coach. I get the feeling Rex Ryan will be giving many post game press conferences where he says he was out-coached (because he frequently is). The Giants game was the most recent and it will certainly not be the last. Terry Pegula and Doug Whaley and Russ Brandon will soon realize that they were duped by Rex Ryan's image and self promotion. He is nothing more than a .500 coach. (His twin brother is vastly overrated as a coach too as a matter of fact. ) The Giants game was Rex Ryan in a nutshell. Loud, boisterous, undisciplined, and just plain dumb. His personality has been stamped on the players. Smart wins games, not stupid Rex! It was typical for Ryan to say how proud he was of his players after this dreadful display on Sunday. It was typical for him not to realize how flawed he is as a coach and "leader". For those of you who say, "Relax, it's only 4 games." Don't forget Rex Ryan has been a head coach for 100 games and he has lost more games than he has won. This is not a small sample size. What makes you think that a tiger can change his stripes? Rex is Rex. Big mouth, big personality and mediocre results. Get used to it. His act grew old in New York and it will grow old here too.
  13. Thank goodness the cornerbacks played so well against the Patriots. If not, Brady might have passed for 700 yards!
  14. I base my grade on playoff appearances and more importantly, playoff wins. How many has Whaley achieved? None. Grade: Incomplete.
  15. This was my first thought. Their defense looked horrible in pre-season, but I figured they would get better during regular season. Nope! They sucked bad. Did anyone on the coaching staff of Pittsburgh even consider defending Gronkowski? They let him run free and uncovered throughout the game. I was yelling at the TV, "They're going to throw it to Gronk, cover him!" The defensive coordinator for Pitt should be fired immediately. I hope the Bills learned something. Jeez!
  16. Offense will be better, defense will be worse. Regression to the mean.
  17. Fred Jackson said Doug Whaley was the only person in the Bills organization who was dishonest with him. I believe Fred Jackson. Whaley is questionable in several areas.
  18. If EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel reversed their salaries, then I think EJ would have been cut. I also believe Whaley wants to keep EJ Manuel so that people don't accuse him of drafting a 1st round bust. He tends to defend his trades and draft picks rather than admitting his mistakes. For the record, experience has taught me over the years that pre-season performances by QB's mean NOTHING! I've seen every Bills QB play since 1960. There are a lot of conclusions being drawn about these QB's based on insignificant data. I still haven't seen EJ Manuel do well against a decent defense in a regular season game. Until proven otherwise, Manuel is still a questionable 1st round pick. If he never becomes a solid stater in the NFL then it is certainly a wasted pick. Time will tell. The odds favor bust over boom at this point.
  19. Are the Bills saving room to pick up another tight end? WTF! How many TE's do they need?
  20. What's the story at TE. You can't keep 5 tight ends!
  21. Levitre's contract was out of touch with his talent. I can't blame him for taking the money. The team that pays him the money should be the object of criticism. On a related topic, I'm convinced the Bills offensive line could still be improved. They could use more quality and depth. If anyone of the starters goes down there will be serious trouble.
  22. I have no sympathy for Brady, but I have even less for the power abusive NFL. The NFL is a corrupt corporation from top to bottom. The NFL thinks they are some kind of privileged organization that need not comply with the rule of law. Brady was smart (or devious) enough to destroy the key evidence in the case. However, the NFL has to prove their case to suspend a player from his job and the judge ruled there was no evidence directly linking Brady to the alleged offense. For me, they both suck big time, but the NFL sucks worse! The Bills need to beat Brady and the Pats so let's get on with it already!
  23. Everybody loves Fred Jackson, but his time was up. Good luck to him. I agree with the decision.
  24. This is why coaches have no respect for the opinions of the fans. You have it upside down. (except for Simms who shouldn't even be mentioned since he will be cut)
  25. Sorry. No freakin' way EJ Manuel will be the starter in WK1. Cassel will start and Tyrod will backup. EJ will get a nice shiny clipboard to hold (unless he gets panicky and fumbles).
