LeSean McCoy allegations
TheBrownBear replied to FeelingOnYouboty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sorry, but what normal victim's first response to being brutally beaten would be to bypass going to the cops, and instead hiring an attorney to put out a press release? Also, the speed of which she retained an attorney and pumped out said release begs the question whether she had this planned in advance of the "attack". Sure, it's entirely possible that this woman drove him insane to the point where he hired a "hit" on her, but her actions leading up to and following her injuries are incredibly fishy. -
I've liked Peterman's potential from the moment he hit the field in preseason (granted, I skipped the Chargers game to play a golf tournament at Torrey Pines...lol). I sense he's head and shoulders above the other guys at this point in his ability to run an offense and read a defense. The question, especially after his performance against the Bolts, is whether he can maintain his poise when the regular season bullets start flying. But count me in the camp who expects him to be the game one starter. How long he keeps the job is up to him, and how quickly Josh Allen can develop. AJ's skillset screams longterm clipboard guy to me. Not mobile. Not the strongest arm. Not the quickest release. Can go in and not single-handedly lose a game, but won't win you one either.

Bills Sign DT Harrison Phillips
TheBrownBear replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's our next generation Kyle Williams. Very excited about Harrison. -
I'm a late 70's baby, so I can't consider OJ and Cribbs since they were before my time. I saw every snap that Thurman played and he was our most productive running back ever, so I'll go with him. Never hit the big flashy breakaway runs, but he was the best in the NFL at setting up his blockers and always finding himself 3-4 yards even when nothing was there. Great pass catcher too. Shady is a close second, but he has too many zero and negative yardage carries.

Watch: AJ McCarron "Highlights" from 2015
TheBrownBear replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
AJ McCarron is basically Matt Cassell. A perfectly acceptable starter on a 4-6 win team. -
RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming
TheBrownBear replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I went back and watched all of the game film from this year and I agree with you guys. Allen is their entire team. They run a pro style offense and he doesn't benefit from dinks and dunks. He even looked good in their blowout loss to Iowa. I'm not sure he starts over McCarron right out of the gate, but I think he's more than capable of taking the job at some point during the season. It really depends on how well AJ plays. -
Phil Simms was selected #7 overall with a 53% completion percentage and 32 TDs against 45 INTs.

RD1, Pick 7: Josh Allen QB - Wyoming

CBS gives us grades of A+, B+ and A+ so far and says we are killing it. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/draft-tracker/ -
Based on the roster, I think this is a three year rebuild. Our defense should be in decent shape after this draft, but we will need to upgrade the O-line, RB, TE and WR positions over the next two drafts. Barring injury, I expect one of McCarron or Peterman (I haven't given up on him yet) to start the next two years minimum (maybe three) and then Allen is ready to step in with an updated roster in 2020. I just don't see us accomplishing much with our offensive line next year and Shady is clearly on the back nine at this point. I see a 4-5 win team and I'm okay with that. I think the next couple of years could be tough, but I plan to remain patient while they get this thing steered in the right direction.

A+ I was initially way down on the Allen pick, but the more I think about it, the more I believe he is the right fit for the organization. Big, strong, blue collar, underdog type. Could be our Big Ben for the next 15 years. So long as he develops into a quality starter by 2020, this will be considered a win. I love the Edmunds pick. Like Allen, the sky is the limit with him. Hopefully, two cornerstone pieces.

Could Dolphins or Cardinals move up? Otherwise, we should sit back and wait a bit. None of 6-10 will have any interest in QB. -

Am I the only one? I'll take any of the top 6 QBs
TheBrownBear replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't like Rudolph's arm. I think he could be an okay mid-to-bottom-tier starter down the line, but I don't see him being a "franchise" guy. Allen scares me too. I could see him flopping badly, but I thought the same thing about Carson Wentz. I like the other four guys though and would be happy to stay put and grab Jackson at 12. -
I think Lamar Jackson will end up better than at least one of the "big four" guys. I will consider it a win if we grab him at 12 and have a solid draft with our remaining picks. None of these QBs are without question marks.

Fred Jackson wall of fame or not?
TheBrownBear replied to Original Byrd Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely not. He had one 1000 yard rushing season. He was a good player, but he's not WOF material. Ruben Brown, Eric Moulds, Schobel and Kyle Williams are all more deserving guys from our loser era. -
