Josh Allen Rookie Season Highlight Video
TheBrownBear replied to RobbRiddick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After watching this, it's beyond laughable that Nathan Peterman entered the season as the starting QB. -
Love it! I'd like to see us keep this cat on as an assistant coach too (if he has any interest) after he retires. Bright, hard working guy with great leadership qualities.

1993 Houston Wildcard Comeback- Where were you guys
TheBrownBear replied to Ice bowl 67's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was 13, home alone in Lancaster, listening to Van Miller and acting out the game with a rubber football. We had 2 season tickets, and it was usually my Mom and I attending the games, but I wasn't feeling well, so my Dad and Mom went together. I'm sure it was amazing in person, but I still feel there was something magical about listening to Van and putting my imagination to good use. -
Wentz is their future. Foles is just a guy. They will regret it if they stick with him after this season.

I love Allen. First QB we've had that exhibits confidence and swagger since Flutie. Sky is the limit with this kid. He's got the size, arm, athleticism, leadership ability, brains and huevos to be an all-time great. Just needs to learn and refine his game at this level.

Sal C, talking but saying nothing...
TheBrownBear replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like Sal. Seems like a genuine dude and doesn't just spew declarations out of his azz. He's a nice counterpoint to the other two buffoons doing Bills talk. -
Second half: Week 14 Jets at Bills, 1pm CBS
TheBrownBear replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was the first real drive given up by the defense today. They've done their job for the most part. -
Not sure if this is a strategy or more just his personal mindset. Josh has serious swag and loves to push the ball downfield in search of the big play. I was pretty distraught when we drafted him over Rosen, but he's absolutely changed my mind. His attitude, charisma and mental makeup paired with his freakish physical gifts scream future superstar to me.

Lorax - should he be extended?
TheBrownBear replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely! His leadership is invaluable and he's still a stud on the field. Give him a nice 1-2 year deal. He deserves it. -
OK. I'll Say It-Allen will be best Bills QB ever

So far, I like what I see, but I'm sure Titan fans were saying the same things about Vince Young and Marcus Mariota. -
Allen's Last Pass (12/2): Bad Pass or Drop?
TheBrownBear replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was Herculean feat by JA just to escape pressure and get that in the vicinity of Clay, so there's no way I put the blame on Josh for that. At the same time, it wasn't the easiest of catches for a tight end with bad knees. Zay is as much to blame for dropping the prior pass as Clay was for dropping his. Neither were "easy" grabs, but you'd like to think we'd be able to hold on to at least one of them. So, yes, Clay "should" have caught it, but it's easy to see why he didn't. -
Zay Jones - Coming Around Nicely
TheBrownBear replied to PolishPrince's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Zay will go for 1k next year. He's building chemistry with JA, and so long as he keeps working and doesn't quit on plays, JA's athleticism will buy Zay time to get open. I see him as a high end #2 slot guy. Need to find a big fast do everything elite guy and we are set for years to come with Zay and Robert Foster serving the roles of chain mover and deep threat. -
High praise for Josh from Dolphins: “Mini Big Ben”
TheBrownBear replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Similar in strength, but Allen is a freak athlete. Ben not so much. -
The best thing you can do is put it behind you and move forward with your life. Maybe try therapy if you're stuck.

Bills tied for 2nd most "deep" throws in the NFL...
TheBrownBear replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting that the Fitz-led Bucs are completing 44% of their deep throws, given that the lack of a deep ball was always the biggest knock against Fitz. -
I'm pro labor and usually not one to side with management, but the players collectively negotiated the current terms of the salary cap and the franchise tag. So, I don't see the Steelers as the "bad guy" here. And in Bell's defense, he made it clear from the get go that he absolutely would not report/play this season if it was under the franchise tag, so, you can't say he screwed his teammates over. The Steelers knew what was at stake when they decided to call Bell's hand. Turns out he wasn't bluffing. Both parties lose in the short term, but it is what it is. Each party made the business decision they felt was right for them. Again, no "bad guy" here IMO. As for how it plays out in the long-term, assuming Bell can get somewhere in the vicinity of $35-40 million in guaranteed cash from his new team (and he should barring collusion), it's hard to say definitively that he made a mistake. And it's not just the possibility of injury that Bell needed to worry about. If he had a subpar season or showed any kind of drop off in performance, he stood to lose a ton of cash on the open market. And who knows, maybe Bell was already feeling the cumulative wear and tear of five seasons or had some minor nagging injuries that were likely to affect his performance this year, and decided it was better to give his body a year of rest, and forfeit the $14mil in exchange for a guaranteed $30mil+.

Finally the end for peterman???
TheBrownBear replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Close. At 3.9 ypa, 75 attempts only gets him up to 290 yards. We need to get him up to 80+ attempts, maybe even 90, just to be safe. -
Any positive take away at all?
TheBrownBear replied to The Process's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We only gave up 190 yards in total offense, and 11 first downs. We still managed to lose by 32 points. So I'm not sure if that's a positive or A negative. Also, if our receivers had managed to hold on to the ball, a big if of course, we probably would have had somewhere around 350 yards of offense and another 10 points. -
He's our most exciting QB in a long time, especially if you're a fan of horror films.
