  1. Type "Josh Allen" into a Google search and you'll see that he's getting tons of love from the national media. There are always going to be detractors and contrarians and those just looking for clicks. Hell, Tom Brady has 6 Super Bowl rings and there will always be a contingent who views him as a "system" quarterback or labels him a cheater. Peyton Manning, as great as he was, was often knocked for his lack of Super Bowl appearances and rings compared to Brady. Anything short of perfection and you'll find someone popping up with a negative critique. And even those who touch perfection will get labeled as "too perfect" or "robotic"...lol. It is what it is. Obviously, some Bills fans are extremely sensitive to this criticism and the outside public opinion about our team and quarterback. It's completely understandable when you consider that we've been desperately praying for good quarterback play for the past 25 years. There's a fear that maybe Josh won't become that elite guy that he's showing flashes of growing into. We seek the outside validation to allay those fears and protect our own egos. For me, personally, I don't care at all what the outsiders think of Josh, because my eyeballs and the results on the field are telling me that Josh is THE GUY. I feel very good about our chances of reaching a Super Bowl in the next 4-5 years with Josh leading the way.
  2. What's his record over that span?
  3. I don't really care or get worked up by these types of things, but this is just ridiculous and seems to completely discredit their entire approach. I could almost see the argument if he just dumped off a bunch of screen passes and guys were taking it to the house, but he was throwing the ball downfield and dropping dimes everywhere. Russ, Dak and Josh were clearly the top 3 QBs yesterday by basically any measure.
  4. That's debatable and it really depends on the player and their mental readiness. I think it's been widely acknowledged that Josh benefitted from the 4 week injury rest he had during his rookie season. Remember that Lynn and his staff have a much clearer picture of who Herbert is right now than we do. I agree he made some nice throws. There was one he zipped into a tight window to Allen in the second half that really impressed me (and the announcers if I recall correctly). It was the type of throw that Tyrod would never ever attempt, but the kind of throw your quarterback needs to make at some point to move the ball against better defenses in this league.
  5. Can't imagine Chargers fans being too happy with those quotes by Lynn. Oh wait, the Chargers don't have any fans. But seriously, I'm guessing Lynn is pissed about the terrible interception that Herbert threw near the goal line at the end of the third quarter. Chargers were about to stretch it to a 2 score game and that completely changed the momentum. Herbert looked pretty good for being thrown in the fire minutes before kickoff, but they kept things really simple for him with play action and lots of roll-outs/one side of the field stuff. And his stats benefitted from an inordinate amount of YAC on the part of his receivers. But yeah, he definitely passed his first test.
  6. I doubt it. I'm sure she had him working on his core strength and flexibility...
  7. It's never too early... MVP of the Quarter: Trent Edwards, QB, Buffalo. "My MVP is tied for 12th in touchdown passes with four, 10th in passing yards with 930 and 10th in passer rating at 93.5. But the Bills are 4-0, and the difference is an efficient quarterback who, like all the great ones, plays better when the game's on the line than any other time of the game." Where NFL stands one quarter into the season - Peter King
  8. So much fun watching his highlight reel on the voting page. His ball placement on that entire 97 yard TD drive was SICK!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I think Diggs will break the team's single season reception and yardage records. He is clearly the best we've had at the position since Moulds.
  10. Other than the Chiefs, this stretch looks really doable. No worse than 2-2, but 3-1 seems likely
  11. Lol. This FB feed is awesome!
  12. Allen is going to be a superstar in this league.
  13. Pump the breaks. He averaged 5.2 ypa. Tyrod could throw for 300 yards if he dropped back 61 times.
  14. Didn't seem that bad to me. I love Josh and think he's a stud and the right QB for this franchise, but he's not above criticism. And frankly I don't care what others say, so long as we continue to win and Josh continues to improve.
  15. Same here. Doesn't give off strong leadership vibes based on that presser. He seemed sort of clueless.
  16. Really polished and can be used in a variety of ways. Not as explosive as i expected. Trying to think of a former Bills receiver he reminds me of, but nothing comes to mind.
  17. I'm a little nervous too, which is why i snagged Brady as my #2. 🤮
  18. I drafted Allen, Singletary and the Bills D.
  19. Lol. I like to think i follow the Bills pretty closely, but this is the first time i recall hearing the name Reid Ferguson. Guess I've been living under a rock when it comes to our special teams.
  20. Josh Allen. I want to have lunch with the QB who leads the Bills to their first Super Bowl victory.
  21. I agree! We had GREAT talent all-around during those years. And yes, Thurman was a freaking stud, especially from '89-'92.
  22. I don't even particularly like (or dislike) Reich, found his Tebow-esque proselytizing annoying, and always knew that Kelly was the far better QB. I just couldn't sit back and let the "one bright moment in a career of awful play" comment pass without correcting it. Reich was fantastic as a backup and spot starter for the Bills. The passing numbers and his record back this up. I don't particularly care about what he did for awful teams late in his career. But to insinuate that he was some sort of bum while he was with the Bills is a straight falsehood. Also, the 2 losses you reference with Reich as a starter in '90 and '91 were the final games of each season where we rested the majority of our starters and all of our star players. And Reich only played one half against the Redskins in '90 before giving way to Gilbert. The previous week Reich helped us wrap up the division and home field advantage against the Dolphins, throwing for 234 yards, 2 TDs, no INTs and posting a 139 QB rating. So, from '89-'93 in games in which he started for the Bills that mattered, with a full complement of talent around him (and he didn't even have that against the Oilers since Thurman and some of our best defensive players were injured), Reich was 6-0, posted QB ratings of 80.2, 126, 146.8, 139.8, 115.9 and 118.0, and threw 14 touchdowns against 2 interceptions. The only loss he had as a starter in a game that mattered for the Bills (meaning playoff games, regular season but in playoff contention, not resting starters, etc.) was the '94 New England game that knocked us out of the playoffs. I was there and he was actually quite good for the first three quarters, but we fumbled on our first three possessions of the third quarter (all on pass receptions) and what had been a 17-3 lead had evaporated and was a 38-17 blowout by the 4th quarter. If what I presented above (without even mentioning the greatest comeback in NFL history), isn't considered "clutch" for a backup QB, then I'd love to hear your definition of clutch.
  23. Kelly looked shaky as hell, threw for 177 yards 1 TD and 2 picks in that game. We won with our defense, running game and Christie's leg. Frank Reich absolutely could have easily won that game.
