  1. Didn't Tunsil lead the NFL in False Start penalties this year? https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/texans/article/Laremy-Tunsil-s-dubious-distinction-NFL-s-most-14893344.php https://www.nflpenalties.com/player/l-tunsil-houston-texans?year=2019 Hughes must be salivating at the thought of exposing LT as the weakest link on the Texan's Oline...
  2. I'm not predicting a win "for sure" but I think they can. Will they? Hope so obviously! The Bills have character and smarts. It should be a good game.
  3. The Bills offense has been bad because: 1. Allen who only started 2 yrs at Wyoming (2016-17) and is in his 2nd yr as a Bill is still learning the pro game. 2. Beyond Brown and Beasley none of the other WR have distinguished themselves. Foster seemingly has regressed from last year. 3. While Knox seems to have a lot of natural talent he is still a rookie and like most rookies at this stage of his 1st season is probably worn out. Rookies are not used to playing this many games while in college. 4. Singletary, a rookie like Knox is probably also starting to feel a bit tired though he was out several games early on in the season which may have helped somewhat. RB's though take a lot more abuse than big body TE's absorb. 5. Gore is essentially a between the tackles RB and is not young anymore. He's gotta be getting tired as well. 6. Hauschka hasn't had a great season either. Is he over his accuracy troubles? Time will tell. Still let's remember the Bills are in the playoffs for the 2nd time in the last 3 seasons. They have a topnotch Defense and stand a decent chance of beating Houston and advancing in the playoffs. It's helped that they haven't had a ton of serious injuries this season. This team needs another good draft class that will hopefully provide among other things a young top notch WR who can stretch out opposing defenses and give Allen another reliable target. Stay tuned...
  4. First, I don't believe that this is even the time to be debating Daboll's competancy as OC. The season isn't even over yet. Second, As far as Allen is concerned, he is still a raw talent. He really only started two season's at Wyoming (2016-17) which is hardly a big name football school. He is now finishing his 2nd season with the Bills having led them to the playoffs this season. But he is still learning the pro game. I'd say he has shown good progress this season so far. We could at least wait to see what the Bills do in the wild card game and perhaps longer before debating these issues. Third, while Oliver, Ford, Singletary and Knox have all shown flashes of the talent that led to their being drafted we have to remember that they are all still rookies. They are gonna have their ups and downs. But their future looks bright. I for one hope that Daboll does stick around beyond this season. Continuity is important. With another good draft class hopefully bringing in a top notch WR and more OLine help this team can only get better. This is not a Super Bowl contending team just yet but their progress is undeniable. On to Houston!
  5. I want the Bills to re-sign both Phillips and Lawson but I don't expect either to be resigned today. Assuming both players are happy being here and the numbers are acceptable to both sides I don't foresee a real problem either way.
  6. The only meaningful stat that I care about is 10 - 5! Playoffs here we come - and for the 2nd time in the last 3 years! Extend Beane and McDermott! And most of all to all the other Bills fans on this site "DON'T WORRY - BE HAPPY!"
  7. There is absolutely zero reason to play any of our starters period. Allen for example is not going to learn anything playing in a meaningless game against the Jests that he doesn't already know. Sit the starters. This is our bye week. Better to devote the time to have the starters do "classroom study" on the Texans/Chiefs and reviewing what they could do better against the Patriots/Ravens if they should win their 1st rd matchup. Barkley should be playing the entire game handing off to Yeldon and Dimarco throwing to our backup WR's. Smoke and Cole sit this one out. Play whomever our third string center is too. Can't afford an injury to Feliciano with Morse's status uncertain at best. Sit Tre White and as many defensive starters too as possible. I agree with what Virgil said earlier in this thread - Let the Jests hurt their draft position if they really want to win this game!
  8. Just for info here are the stats from this yrs top WR picks in rds 1-3 per Pro Football Reference.com https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BrowMa04.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/SamuDe00.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BrowAJ00.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HarrNK00.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HardMe00.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MetcDK00.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/I/IsabAn00.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JohnDi01.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/McLaTe00.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BoykMi00.htm It's a bit of a mixed bag. But this years draft is also rumored to be a fairly deep one at the WR position. I leave it to the so called experts to rate this years WR class but it does not seem unreasonable to expect that the Bills could probably draft one this year in their top 3 picks as opposed to venturing into FA and paying big bucks for one. 9. teams that routinely throw for 300 yd per game are doing so because they don't have very productive running games. Their defenses aren't all that hot either. Teams that can run the ball well also tend to have better defensive stats as their defenses don't wear down in the 2nd half. Baltimore is another example of a team with a good running game/good defense. The Bills are not asking Allen to throw for 300 yds per game. They are 10-5 for good reasons. And personally I will settle for 10 wins any season over these other teams/QB's we are talking about. Allen wont be making $30 million per season for at least 2-3 more years. Plenty of time to judge his progress by then.
  10. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MurrKy00.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JoneDa05.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/RyanMa00.htm Color me as not impressed with either of your examples of QB's who have "passed Allen in development" Murray has had 4 - 300 yd games. One win against Atlanta, a tie with Detroit, and losses to Baltimore and Tampa Bay. Jones has had 3 - 300 yd games. One win over Tampa bay and Losses to both the Detroit and the Jets. Entering today's games the Cardinals are currently 4-9-1 while the Giants are 3-11. Matt Ryan (Atlanta) BTW has had 9 - 300 yd games this season. Their record is 5-9. It would not necessarily appear that 300 yd passing games are all that indicative of a successful season...
  11. Allen is the Bills QB for many years to come. Is he a "finished product" just yet? Of course not. But he has already shown us that he is at least the 2nd best QB in his draft class. And lets remember that Wyoming is not exactly your ideal QB developmental school either. But he is progressing nicely. As I have said many times before, Kelly had 2 yrs in the USFL and then another 2-3 yrs in a Bills uniform before he became the QB that we all remember him as. I have no concerns about Allen's development. He wants to be the best he can be and he wants to be the Bills QB. He'll be fine. As far as "signature wins" are concerned, Allen has already had a few in my book. He's walked into Dallas and Pittsburgh just in the last few weeks alone and come out victorious. Those are not easy places to win consistently. We need to continue building this team around him.
  12. Congrats Tre! A Well deserved honor! Hopefully though you will have to decline though as you will be preparing for a game the following weekend!
  13. John Brown 2019 Stats: 71 receptions 1007 Yds 5TD's https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/B/BrowJo02.htm
  14. In 3 years with the Bills Tyrod had a total combined passing and rushing of 10,432 Yds and 65 TD's. He had signed a contract in 2017 paying him $15million per year. In 2 yrs with the Billls Allen has a total combined passing and rushing of 5881 Yds and 43 TD's with 3 games left to play. He is making $5.3 million per year for 2 more years. Assuming Allen throws for another 700 Yds and rushes for another 150 Yds and accounts for say another 7 Total TD's these last 3 games, that would give Allen approximately 6731 Yds and 50 TD's over his 1st 2 NFL seasons. Also during Tyrod's tenure here he had 4 comebacks and 5 Game Winning Drives during his 3 seasons here while Allen in just less than 2 seasons has already had 5 comebacks and 7 Game Winning Drives. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/TaylTy00.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AlleJo02.htm Cost being a serious consideration clearly seems to show that the Bills are getting slightly more production out of Allen in his 1st 2 seasons at a cost savings of $10 million per year.
  15. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/upshot/buffalo-bills-nfl-playoff-picture.html#& Click on Bills to Win on ANY of their three remaining games and they are in the playoffs. Don't Worry - Be Happy!
  16. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2019-nfl-predictions/ Go here and learn something already. Bills win in Pittsburgh and BILLS ARE IN! No ifs, ands or buts... Just Win Baby!
  17. Just beat Pittsburgh already! We're the better team and we play very well on the road. No panic here folks! https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2019-nfl-predictions/
  18. Wrong. Roberts is not a problem. He's made very sound decisions all year long. Just because he hasn't broken any that have gone the distance (yet, anyways) doesn't mean he should be cut. He got the majority of his money on his 2yr deal this year and is signed through next season at a very reasonable price. And he still has 3 games and playoffs to make an even greater contribution this year. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/andre-roberts-6596/
  19. Ok, so how bout a compromise here guys? How bout a relatively inexpensive 10" tablet? Or even a small laptop PC? You could easily mount one inside your truck. Just resist the temptation to play "Candy Crush" while driving!
