New Era name to be dropped from Stadium
DefenseWins replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, I remember that in it's "rookie" season, it was actually referred to on network telecasts as "from The Stadium in Orchard Park, NY"... So it might actually be 4 names.... -
Isn't the original show still being shown on over-the-air tv and/or cable still?

Neither does Jameis Winston...

Making a person "sign a waiver" does NOT mean that it is "legally enforceable" in a court of law. His lawyer (or the lawyer for his estate) would simply argue that the waiver was null and void and unenforceable. Again, as I stated upfront, I am NOT a lawyer but this topic has been covered a lot lately in the news, in connection with Trumps rallys for instance.
-
Waivers, generally speaking (I am NOT a lawyer) from what I read are usually unenforceable in any event. The State, Erie County, The NFL and The Bills in particular would get sued up the wazoo if fans were permitted to attend games during the pandemic and then became ill or died. Football fans should be happy if there are any games at all in 2020.

Stefon Diggs concerned about football starting back up
DefenseWins replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I haven't heard this question asked yet, so here it goes. WHEN players get Covid-19 are we just automatically assuming that they will return after 2-3 weeks and be their old "normal" selves? I mean even if none of the overweight OL gets hospitalized and/or dies, are they just gonna be able to step back in and play up to their "normal" standards after a bout with the virus? Let's not forget the coaching staff which is primarily composed of men in their 40-50+ age category. I am very curious what the "Protocols" might be WHEN this happens... -
What's your favorite crockpot recipe?
DefenseWins replied to Westside's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I would just add that when cooking in a crockpot using "crock pot liners" make cleanup super easy... -
As far as I am concerned, I'd much rather BEAT New England with Cam as their QB than Stidham.

I don't usually get picky reading other peoples comments, but the highlighted text isn't even a sentence. Depravity is definitely NOT the word you wanted to use either. Scarcity would have been much better and meaningful. I would want a top 5 draft pick for Allen at this point before I'd even consider a trade offer. I am very pleased with Allen's progress so far and expect continued improvement in his game.

Will NFL players end up following suit?
-
Since we still have a week left in June, and all of July and August ahead of us, I think it will get more interesting as the virus continues to spread out of control.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/06/19/report-mlb-considering-shutting-down-all-30-spring-training-sites/ Every day the news gets worse... Unless the NBA players can be "bubbled/isolated" I am very pessimistic that there will be pro sports anytime soon. You would have thought that MLB would have the best chance of preventing the spread of Covid-19 among their ranks. And with over 20 states that being swamped with cases now I don't see any "good news" coming together soon...

Should NFL teams have a "Quarantined" backup QB?
DefenseWins replied to DefenseWins's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The interesting question is Barkley the guy you keep away from the team since he will at least know the offense if called upon? Do you bring in somebody else right away to familiarize him with the offense as much as possible? And if so whom do you bring in? -
Then by your definition Allen should qualify with the minimum number of games during only his 4th season. Also it is pretty certain they will at least pick up his 5th year option. I like Allen and believe that he will achieve "Franchise QB" status at some point. But your standard should probably be a bit higher. That is barring a "Corona Virus" shutdown of course...

Rumor/Speculation only: Will Pats sign Kapernick?
DefenseWins replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/new-england-patriots/ So where exactly would the patriots get the $20 million or whatever to sign him? Doesn't look like they have ANY real cap space left... -
Except, you know, the rich will never have enough...

The Bills 2020 Draft in Perspective
DefenseWins replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't usually put much stock in post-draft evaluations in the first place. I don't think you can ever get a good read on a player this soon. I'm content to wait and see. I think where Diggs is concerned, he should make a much bigger contribution this year than any rookie fresh out of college. -
Things are bound to get mighty "interesting" in the short term. (say the next year) I can see having the NFL and other sports leagues playing in empty stadiums this year. You can forget all about any rock concerts too. How many restaurants survive this I wouldn't begin to guess - but likely not many. The airlines are gonna need bailouts and then there is the problem of people not being able to pay their rent/mortgage. This has the potential to get very, very ugly. We are nowhere near being out of the woods on this thing at this point.

Backup running back - how about going back to 2018?
DefenseWins replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
First, Diggs doesn't even belong in this conversation. We are talking RB's here I think. Otherwise if you really want to include ALL players at ALL positions this conversation is really gonna get bogged down quickly. For example I can think of a whole lot of QB's that don't EARN their keep. So let's just talk RB's OK? Do you think that the Cowboys were happy with Zeke's play this season? How bout the Jets with Bell? Or the Rams with Todd Gurley? Or the Cardinals with David Johnson? Point is that there are lots of RB's that don't EARN their big fat contracts. I'd rather draft a couple no name RB's who you won't have to pay exhorbitant contracts to. Many of them simply seem to wear out too quickly. (like right after they sign a new contract) And yes. alot of other players don't EARN their salaries either. -

DefenseWins replied to Coach55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There should be more than enough RB talent available in the 4th-5th rds of the draft. -
There has already been some reports about people having passed through quarantine who turn up positive again not long after being released. It's really WAY too early to know anything with any degree of certainty. From society's POV the big threat is a huge number of people dying all at once. The healthcare system is already over burdened.

FYI masks and gloves can be found on amazon and I presume ebay as well. Takes a little looking these day but I got mine in about a weeks time. If you are classified as an essential employee your employer may now be required to provide you with a mask. Seems like a lot of stores are making them mandatory now. I hope you are actually using that hand sanitizer, for both your sake and those you come in contact with. Stay Safe!
