  1. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/K/KellJi00.htm Completion Percentages 59.4, 59.7, 59.5 of Jim Kelly's 1st 3 seasons as a Buffalo Bill. Using the OP's standards he was never going to amount to anything - right? Should have cut him after these three horrible seasons - Yes? Kelly's TD/Int his first 3 seasons: 22/17, 19/11, 15/17 Horrible - right? This guy obviously sucked and should have been cut after his 1st 3 seasons - Right? Kelly BTW was 26 yrs old that 1st season. His won/loss records those 1st 3 seasons: 4-12, 7-8, 12/4. But some so called fans want to crucify Allen after one partial season???
  2. Gotta Link? Although I do recall some rumors at the time, I have not actually seen anything definitive confirming it. Until then we will never know for sure. Suppose he decided to draft someone else? Would we still have Tyrod Taylor playing QB? As I recall there was a lot of chatter about OJ Howard (TE) that year just to name one possible alternate Whaley pick... If Allen takes this team to the playoffs, how does that affect the Mahomes/Watson pick at #10 that year? Factoring in Tre White as well?
  3. I believe Ryan Allen is still out there too...
  4. I honestly don't hold Whaley in "high regard". I will go with McBeane any day of the week. I question what Whaley would have done if he hadn't apparently been told to trade the first rd pick to KC for what turned out to be Tre White and the extra 1st rd pick the following year. Would we still be watching Tyrod Taylor playing QB for this team? Would Whaley have drafted either Mahomes or Watson with the pick? Ultimately we should have a better read on McBeane at the end of this season. Hopefully Allen stays healthy all season. And I have to say that this defense in particular seems like the strongest the Bills have had in quite some time. McDermott and his defensive coaches have created one of the deepest defensive rosters with Beanes help. Beane may not be a god but I don't see why we have to have this conversation right now to begin with. Can't it wait until the end of this season at least?
  5. Just one question: If you were Clowney and got traded to Miami against your wishes and know that after this season is over you could leave there - what would you do? Nuff said...
  6. Wouldn't be surprised if the Bills move a receiver before the weekend is out too...
  7. Barring injury to Allen I think 9 wins would be a solid outcome for this team. I think FG's will decide several of these games.
  8. I'd rest ALL the starters for this game. No need to chance injury on a truly meaningless game like this. Barkley should be rested as well. Give Tyree the whole game so we can see his progress.
  9. I see the Bills at 2-2 after the first 4 games with a chance to be 3-1. Jets game could well be a last second FG type of outcome. I wouldn't freak out if they lose to the Jets as I have a really good feeling about the Jets game at the end of the season going the Bills way. As I've said before, injuries are gonna be the key to success as they always are. Allen needs to stay healthy. 9-7 should be attainable, perhaps even 10-6 with a break or two.
  10. Frankly, I'm happy that they held him out of useless preseason games. Why risk your investment in him on stupid preseason games that don't mean squat. Look at all the players across the league who have gone down with season ending injuries already. The Bills have been very fortunate and want to keep it that way. It's the smart thing to do. In the meantime sitting him has given them the opportunity to try out various combinations of other players all along the line for when injuries will occur during the regular season. SMART!
  11. Like everyone else who has responded to this thread, I share your pain and grief. It never gets any easier. If there is a positive side to these things, I think that it reminds us that life is too short - for both us and our furry friends. And despite the pain and heartache we feel at times like this that it reminds us to treat each other and our pets humanely and with compassion. How we treat our pets says a lot about us.
  12. I also find it just a bit unrealistic to think that after sitting out all the preseason that Bell will look like his old self in wk 1 against a Bills defense that will be ready to knock him on his a$$.
  13. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

  15. I'm just glad he didn't come here. Give me Brown and Beasley any day over AB
  16. The Don Beebe helmet? Are you thinking of the "Gizmo" helmet worn by Mark Kelso perhaps?
  17. Let's begin with the players who were forced to retire due to injuries/medical conditions (Eric Wood and Aaron Williams). How is Beane in any way "responsible" for creating their problems/conditions. And did he turn Incognito into a "psycho" too? Really! And what role did Beane play in forcing/cajoling Vontae Davis into retiring at half-time?? Does anyone out there really wish we could have Tyrod playing QB for this team instead of Josh Allen??? And then there is Marcel. Better to have a DL who is into drag racing and imbibing synthetic MJ and underperforming out there on the field??? Gimme a break....
  18. You also have to keep in mind that after having to watch Ryan Tannehill play these last several years I can understand how Fitz can SEEM to be a big improvement - at least at first...
  19. The bottom line here is that if you are an NFL player you don't put ANYTHING in your body unless you are SURE that it is not on the banned list. My only question on this is whether the NFL would have/could have granted him "permission" if he had petitioned them IN ADVANCE for permission - assuming this whole "Fertility Treatment" is actually even legit. This on top of the Giants other WR injuries puts them at an even greater disadvantage to the Bills in Week #2. Sterling Shepard has a broken thumb and Corey Coleman out with a torn ACL. It would be a great start to the NFL season if the Bills beat both NJ teams and go 2-0 out of the starting gate.
  20. I think both these teams have improved since last season and that they are very similar in most respects. Each team has question marks that will unfold as the season goes along. Coaching I'd give the edge to McD over Gase. Overall I think injuries will be the primary determining factor separating the two teams final record.
  21. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/07/06/frank-gore-may-be-third-all-time-in-carries-and-yards-by-the-end-of-the-year/ Barring injury to McCoy I don't see it... If Singletary is gonna be sharing time as well I don't see enough carries to go around...
  22. As I recall, Bon Jovi never actually had 1.4 Billion that the Pegula's reportedly paid for the franchise. And as for Trump, latest news reports appear to indicate that he didn't have the funds either and may have committed "bank fraud" with regard to his application/bid... I think most of us would agree that the Bills will NEVER be able to command the PSL fees nor the kind of "suite sales" that major markets could. But with the coming of "legalized gambling" that is being talked about right now in addition to the fact that the Bills regularly sell out the stadium, the Bills franchise still brings in a rather tidy sum of money into Pegula's and the NFL's coffers. Obviously, there will most likely be someone out there with the funds to purchase the team IF it were ever put up for sale, But the Pegula's don't seem to be in any particular hurry to build a new stadium and certainly they are not losing money on the team. At some point a new stadium will be built. I don't believe that further remodeling of New Era would be an option. It will be interesting to see how this all pans out...

  24. If the NYG end up starting Jones early-on in the season the entire season could go up in flames prematurely, though that may already be the inevitable result of Gettleman's moves both this year and last year. Passing on Darnold/Allen for Barkley was insane. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gettleman and Shurmer fired at the end of the season. Then the new GM can draft another QB for the Giants next year... For once it looks like the Bills are gonna luck out in this madness known as the NFL Draft.
  25. I don't think Bills fans were ever as hating on the JA pick last year compared to the fan reactions of Giants fans to Daniel Jones... Do I feel sorry for them? NO! But maybe we should be happy that the Giants waited till this year to select a QB....
